I'm curious why BL chose the evening or early morning of Sept 13th to go to the reserve then. What triggered it then?
According to the time line, the Petitos tried to reach the Laundries on Sep 10, reported Gaby missing on the 11th and the van was towed from the Laundries driveway on the 11th. (Also according to the timeline there were a flurry of 911 calls originating from the Laundrie address on the 10th and 11th.) Up until the 10th, BL appeared to be having normal activities going on.

I agree. The BL family bike rides, s'mores, lawn mowing, normal life all happened before JP's phone message about going to "call the cops" 10th/11th. After JP's message BL's parents tried to get the truth-real or imagined-out of BL. BL is upset bc he's caught in his own lies/BL parents, beside themselves, call SB. BL takes a hike.
MOO
Personally I struggle to find sympathy for ChL + RL. What I need to see is how they handle Gabby's parents now. If I heard RL called the Petitio family or arranged through LE to gave answers to them, my feelings about the Laundries would change for the better. The public doesn't need to know/but Gabby's parents do. It is still a wait-and-see-world. MOO

You mean, the message from JP that Cassie Laundrie said nobody in the family got because nobody in the family had any missed or received calls from the Petitos or Schmidts?:rolleyes::rolleyes:

(In retrospect it becomes fairly obvious that this is "according to what CL and RL said to Cassie, they didn't receive any messages or missed calls".)

I don't know if this has been corroborated but if it is true, and they got to the opportunity to cut a deal, this is really disturbing IMO.

That makes sense. I wouldn't doubt if when they called LE that Tuesday night they called to say they would cooperate rather than only calling to inform them of their intent to search the next day. It's as if they knew he was deceased and they no longer needed to cover for him. IMO.

The first point is that Gabby was MURDERED. BL flew home, then flew back to Gabby. Then BL the drove back home in Gabby’s van. Visiting Mommy & Daddy both times. Everyone goes to silent.

The second point is that there are still two people in that house that most likely know a lot more about what happened. There are still a lot of missing pieces to this case.

The third point is that Gabby (posthumously), the Petitos and the FBI need to know exactly what happened. We are starting to see reports of the intense surveillance that was placed on the Laundries. (Hidden cameras, FBI tail to lawyer meeting in Orlando.) You can be damn sure that the FBI is looking at the Laundries actions and statements relative to developing evidence.

Justice for Gabby!

All IMOO.
THAT’S what this is all about. :)

Which may be his intention. He has effectively removed the heat from the parents and directed it to him personally. I've seen nothing in the media about protestors at the Laundrie house since BL's remains were found. They may be there, I don't know, but if they are the media has stopped reporting it. All the media headlines are now about SB - similar to what is happening here.

This is advantageous to both parties - SB has his name in the headlines for weeks and the L's get to grieve in peace and hopefully begin the process of moving on.

This is my musing only. I have no evidence this is SB's strategy, but it's an angle. jmo

Read this, and grimaced............. truly shows us how "big media" influences us, doesn't it?

This case needs to be about finding justice and the truth for Gabby.
And less about trespassing signs.

In the terrible reality of her murder, a person foolishly stepping off the sidewalk seems irrelevant.
However some feel that these protests are more invasive than that, and it's time for people to go back to their jobs and lives.
Fair enough.

That being said, it's a public nuisance, and important enough for the media to post articles and even photos.
It's unfair and unfortunate for them to have to endure this; what about a more permanent solution ?
It's sad for the neighbors who have done nothing to deserve this.

Since the L.'s put up the signs, other neighbors should do the same -- and also include driveways that are directly in front of homes; leaving only the streets for access.
In which case, LE can move in and arrest the protesters for blocking a public thoroughfare, correct ?
The Laundrie neighbors could sue the people trespassing or have them arrested.
Once the homeowners win a court case the trespassers would be forced to pay the fine.
The protests will cease.
Imo.

Brian is dead but this is not over. The public is NOT going to let this go in respect to the Laundries until the FBI officially closes the case.

I wasn't remotely on their side initially. In all honesty, I thought the worst of them. My opinion has changed over these past few weeks with so many threads of discussion and endless media reports. I tend to check in with myself a lot and try to put aside my emotional reaction and lean into the facts as presented. And sometimes it comes down to remaining curious. I'm still very curious.

I do have questions, but I believe the Laundries got caught between a rock and a hard place. And I imagine BL wasn't always easy to handle. I suspect a lot more, but I'll leave it there. I hope the Laundries eventually shed some light on Brian and what led up to this. I know they don't have to, but it might serve them well and help everyone else affected by this tragic series of events to heal.

MOO.

love all your thoughts here........... i feel the same.

What day did Gabby's family start calling RL & Cassie?
I know they had been trying to contact Gabby & Brian for days , with only the 2 odd texting responding.

Agree and my thoughts are that he is enjoying the limelight to the degree that his professional judgment is off.
Agreed. He starts babbling and cannot stop, trying to look like the smartest guy in the room and showing his contempt for his interviewer throughout the interview.

Is that what SB was hinting at when he said something like, we talked with the FBI and decided charges for the parents weren't appropriate here... and also his comments to fox news that the fbi has everything they need with respect to the petito investigation?

"..These items were found in an area that, up until recently, had been underwater.

Bertolino brought up the water level as a factor of why the discoveries had not been made during weeks of earlier searches.

The last time Chris Laundrie went to the park to search for his son, on Oct. 7, swamp water came up to the edge of the trail.

Throughout the morning Wednesday, Chris Laundrie stepped off the trail into wet but navigable brush.."

There is a photo showing his pants are wet up toward his knees.

I was looking at how wet his pants were and thinking about whether I would be tromping into wet brush (ticks, chiggers, snakes. etc.) without boots... It looked like thick brush too.

It has given me a pit in my stomach. It completely fits. IMO LE always had enough on the parents to at least haul them in for questioning. They never did and have not still. I tried to make sense of their actions a million times.

Then after never traveling here one time, SB comes down and they meet in Orlando. Why? Was it a proffer session for a plea agreement?

When did Chris Laundrie go out to the Reserve the first time after doing nothing for weeks? Was it right after Orlando?

And, then of course this would explain exactly why the parents knew where to go - because they did know where he was.

Ugh. If the Government cut a deal with the parents, when they had stuff on the parents, and they did it for Brian? Wow, call me disturbingly disappointed in our Feds because if this is the case, they have left no one to account for GP. No one. MOO IMO JMO

Edit to add: I never thought they would have made a deal with the parents. BL yes - possibly if they needed to find Gabby. Parents, no. If anyone gets corroboration on this please post. Thank you. MOO

I agree. It would be so disappointing to say the very least. Unfortunately, that scenario fits like a missing puzzle piece :(. IMO

The neighbors have encouraged it.
The neighbors have been renting out their yards to the media to camp out.
They have been providing food and drink to the media ( not sure if the protesters too.)
I don't think the neighbors like the Laundries at all.
