I think he drove the van back. It’s highly unlikely someone else was pulled into this case. That would be so random. There would be some kind of spotting or trace of someone else in the picture here. But, speaking of driving back aren’t there cameras on stop lights these days? Can’t the footage be pulled up to see if he was driving the van in Florida? What we don’t really know for certain is if he fled right after he came back with the van. Except that police said they knew where he was. When did they not know where he was? Tuesday?

Wait. Doesn’t LE have the van? Surely they haven’t returned it to BL.

Questions unanswered in Gabby Petito disappearance

"I texted her: 'I'm worried about the kids — I haven't heard from them,' and I got nothing ... I called, left a message, got nothing."

What was BL's job before this? Did he have one?

THANK YOU. I will take their word for it, for now. But if it turns out they messed that detail up and it’s hearsay, they’re in deep 🤬🤬🤬🤬 I believe.

I also don’t understand if it’s legal for his parents and lawyers to lie about his location, and use workaround terms like “seen” him if it was virtual and not in person, so I am going to really push for Brian being in Florida as legitimate.

So he left his FL home for a hike on Tuesday. God help us.

Brian also posted it often and made stamps of the dead bird on the cover of the book. I’ve read it. It has heavy depictions of necrophilia (with babies even) and is pretty twisted
Yea... It is very.... I had just takin my 1st look at her Insta and seen that, haven't seen his.... That's creepy... And i guess 1 of the 4songs posted after she was last seen to the playlist was about an animal dying underground or some sheeze... Ironic, to say the least.

Their son, who's a POI in a missing persons investigation, leaves for a hike and they wait THREE DAYS to tell the police he never came back? Give a break.
Just when you thought these people couldn't behave any worse, they do this. They finally reach out to law enforcement, but do so when it suits their interest, and 3 days later to boot.

If they truly don't know where he is (which I find dubious), then they are getting a small taste of what Gabby's family is going though.

Get it yet?!

guess the neighborhood protests will die down now......hmmmm

I think recent developments will make the mob very angry at the parents. And no one will believe the parents didn't have a hand in it. I think the mob is going to get worse.

God help those neighbors.

Statement released from North Port Police just now -- said he was last seen "WEARING A HIKING BAG WITH A WAIST STRAP."

I don't know anyone who wears a HIKING BAG with a WAIST STRAP inside their parents' living room.

Why was this included in the police note? WHERE was he last seen?!

I'm assuming on a hiking trail.
That’s what LE are calling a pack? Yikes!
The majority of hiking packs have hip belts (actually worn by design sitting midway on top of those pelvis bones that stick out a bit below your waist. These transfer the weight to your hips to lessen the load on your shoulders.
I would guess BL walked away with a fairly large backpack with a significant-looking belt. I’m thinking he absconded on a Greyhound, He’d melt right into that universe.
IMO he’s not using the pack for hiking, but just to get around easily.

Women, try this to get the idea of a hip belt. Plonk something on the floor, like a stack of books. A toddler works great, too, since you’re going to pretend the stack of books is a toddler. Reach down, pick it up, and plonk it on your body without thinking. It very likely ends up perched and slightly over your hip bones. That’s where you, on your body, naturally carry weight. It’s most efficient there. That’s where a pack belt goes.
If you’re not up to the toddler thing, cop an attitude in dramatic 14-year old fashion. Your hand will go right to the “toddler spot”. That’s your power place. That’s where the pack belt goes. The belt pretty much carries the weight of the pack, if your pack is designed correctly and has been properly fitted.
Sorry, guys, but you tend not to have anatomical spots where you intuitively plonk toddlers. The buckle of a pack belt goes roughly in front of your belly button.

It's my understanding Brian, as a person of interest, was not under surveillance.

Chief Todd said he knew exactly where he was, so perhaps not formal surveillance, but someone should have known his every move.

Also, the going for a hike is ridiculous because common sense would have to tell the parents that he was a suicide risk. imo.

I find it interesting that it was the lawyer that called the police to go and speak to BL’s parents, and not them. I wonder if they were treading on very thin ground as far as potential aiding and abetting goes, and would they have ever called the police themselves or was it only on advice from the lawyer that they spoke to police at all.

I wondered this, too. Attic?

Actually I think you are more on point than you realize. Logistically unless he’s getting aid from someone. He’s either in the attic, at a friends, in the woods near by etc. Like a early 20 something moronic version of Eric Robert Rudolph.

Absolutely he has help. How does he have any resources at all to take off?
I'd be curious to know if his parents or relatives recently made any large cash withdrawals from their bank accounts.

Josh Taylor said on CNN that Brian left the house Tuesday with a backpack on and that his parents thought he was going on a local hike.

So a guy is on the loose in Florida wearing a backpack, maybe a mask with sunglasses and based on previous behavior, barefoot as well? To verify it’s BL offer him a bottle of water. If he says no because he’s trying to save the planet, call police.

I don’t think this guy is cut out for any of this, certainly not jail or a life on the run. Perhaps his parents did call in fear of suicide. My opinion.

Questions unanswered in Gabby Petito disappearance

Gabby’s mother, Nichole Schmidt, said they don’t believe the last text message they received from Gabby was actually from her. In it, it states that the couple is in Yosemite and that text messages would be tough because of the area.

It was received on Aug. 30.

You do the math,” Nichole Schmidt said Friday. “We know that she didn’t send it because he was home Sept. 1. They never went to Yosemite; they never had plans to go to Yosemite — so it’s obvious.”

North Port Police Public Information Officer Josh Taylor wondered about that as well during a short news conference Friday afternoon, noting driving from Yosemite to North Port in a day on one tank of gas was clearly unlikely.
