Several hundred pages ago, someone who claimed to be an employee in Grant Village said they had been sighted there, and I think it was either 08/25 or 08/26. But I'm not about to go looking through hundreds of pages to find it . .
That's good. That fits the timeline. Grant Village is Yellowstone. Okay. Thanks!

Reporting him missing could have been a strategy employed by the attorney out of guilt, or even the parents whose conscience may be starting to bother them. Once he's reported missing, this opens the door for law enforcement to start looking for evidence to locate Brian without a warrant (social media, phone records, etc) and without the parents having to state they think he's guilty or indicating they knew he was guilty from the beginning. It basically opens the door for them to cooperate without openly saying they support the criminal side of the investigation, then to change their stance and be supportive once something is "found", if that makes any sense.

While the legality of using evidence found during the missing person search may or may not be fully admissible in Gabby's case, accessing Brian's phone and social media could give them a lot of insight about Gabby's whereabouts or where to look for more evidence.

MOO OMO or whatever we're currently using to indicate speculation
Yes, it eases their conscience.

It doesn't ease any anger directed toward them for taking so long, however. Nor should it.

That is wrong.

It was the Laundries attorney who stated he was missing and FBI were looking for them both.

Florida police are quoted: "authorities were trying to determine if the notion that Laundrie may be missing has any "credibility""
You are incorrect. Go to their statement on Twitter. Last paragraph. "We are not currently working a crime investigation. We are now working a multiple missing persons investigation."

What an interesting turn of events. Like many of you, I am having a hard time keeping up! I have faith that the good men and women of the FBI will find BL within a couple of weeks. MOO

Yeah, I’m really starting to believe BL did not fly/go home to FL 8/17-24. The only account I recall is the handwritten note by GP’s uncle and possibly verbal account relayed by GP’s mom. They were simply relaying information that was told to them by GP. they had no proof of this occurring.

surely the feds can and will verify whether BL or any of his friends/family were on flights to and from SLC/out west and FL.

I would just like to say, as a mid-20s person, that if I went missing (or accused of something) and people went searching my Pinterest or old tumblr, they’d have a field day. His Pinterest seems organized but people don’t take what they pin too seriously. It looks like his has been updated recently so maybe he does use it often but I urge against delving too deep into that stuff because a lot of it is just random scrolling and pinning when bored and has nothing to do with a likely not-premeditated case like this one. Pins and posts can just be off-the-cuff and not too serious and more about aesthetic or remembering for later. He’s an artist so that too. Just to offer my opinion on how those sites are sometimes used, and how it likely doesn’t relate.
Oh and if anything WAS fishy in a premeditated sense, it would probably at least be a private list and not publicly viewable. I think he was a pretty “normal” guy, aside from his crunchy tendencies, and this gabby situation wouldn’t be reflected too hard in his public profiles which maybe just show his personality more. He’s allowed to have a personality, even if it’s weird, just not allowed to disappear his fiancé (and then turn the case attention to himself).

Where did we find out that he went back to FL and came back along with all that stuff about the storage unit? I’ve never found a definitive answer.

Her mom.

Why say he's missing NOW?

We've all been asking why they waited three days to report that their son was missing.

But why did they say it at all? What changed in those three days?

I agree. How many adventurous , self-sufficient guys are eager to get married at age 22 (even tho he may have changed his mind). Well, I guess he's trying it out...or already given up.
An interesting and valid point, that a "free-spirited" individual (in regards to travel and "van life") is not typically compatible with a young-20s marriage. But to be frank, BL seemed to cherry pick what he stood for (i.e. complaining about tourists in parks, when being one himself, and one who apparently went off-trail against park rules).

I asked the same thing about confirmation that BL had driven the van back and if it was confirmed he was at home. Someone referred me to the Media thread which can be
just he said, she said. Long story short...I can not find a documented confirmation. And I've looked very hard for one.
I’d love for the media to ask this question at a press conference. I wonder if they have any suspicions as to whether or not someone else drove the van back. I did find it interesting that Josh Taylor (hope I’m correctly remembering the PIO’s name) said tonight dismissing Yosemite because it wouldn’t have been possible to get back on a single tank of gas in a single day. That struck me as odd. Oddly specific to say a single day and a single tank of gas. I’m curious if that’s actually what they think. Seems completely impossible to do that from Wyoming too.

8/24: Gabby checks out of Fairfield Inn and Suites
8/25 0r 8/26: Owner of Rustic Row in Idaho says Petito and Laundrie spent about 15 to 20 minutes in the store.
8/25 or 8/26 - Possible sighting Grant Village, Yellowstone
8/27 - ???
8/28 - ???
8/29: Laundrie alone. Hitchhiking. No vehicle. Babbling about his fiancé and video editing and Snake River. Picked up Colter Bay, Grand Teton.

I believe Mexico doesn't need a negative test.

Also US is open to tourists but not tourists from all countries.

There is a huge list of banned countries: All European countries, India, China, Iran, Brazil, South Africa, Ireland. Not only tourists but People even with a work permit (have a home and job here for many years) are not allowed to enter. Even the girlfriends/boyfriends (not married) of US citizens who are in these countries have been unable to meet each other for 18 months now. It doesnt' matter if we are vaccinated or show a negative test. The only non-citizen that can enter US is ones who have US born children or they should have greencard (which takes 5 to 15 years to get.. so that's a waste) . There is a huge community which is fighting for this and I am an active member of that community.

The only way for such people to meet is coming through a third country, which is staying in a non-banned country for 2 weeks and coming here. That costs so much, around 4000$ per person for Mexico. So I couldn't afford it.

We are ready to self-isolate for month if that's what is needed.

Sorry for the off-topic but I know many citizens don't know how much we are suffering and I had to throw it out there.
I'm in a country that is closed to all international tourism so it still looks pretty open to me, even if one has to travel somewhere else before entering from a "hot" country.
Funny thing is, other counties that have opened list the US as a "hot" country.
I guess it's all just a matter of perspective.

Both families are from Bayport, NY (Long Island). The 'kids' graduated from Bayport High School one year apart. The Laundries moved from 332 1st Avenue, Bayport to 4343 Wabasso Ave, North Port, 34287 in 2018. The 'kids' started their trip from NY, but Brian drove back to FL. My problem with this tale is not Brian, it's Christopher. Character. How do you behave when you think no one is watching? So, you are Christopher, and your son walks in an Bohemian Rhapsody style says "Papa, I killed a girl", what do you do? The low-lives in this tale are the parents. It's OK son. You lie-low. I'll get my NY attorney to handle this. We will make a plan. Just like you waited several days to return to us, we will wait to disclose you are 'missing' as long as we can. Mr. Petito called it. What kind of people are they? The daughter broke rank and spoke to the press. Unfortunately, she knows nothing about what happened, but she had the right message. Something went wrong in August, the younger Laundrie was there, and didn't do the right thing. Something went wrong earlier this week and the elder Mr. Laundrie was there, and didn't do the right thing. So, I hope the cost of the doing the laundry, defending the boy, breaks the "Laundrie", because I'm a mean, grumpy old man, that wants the world to be a better place than it is.

IMO their address is certainly easy to find but publishing it here seems a bit wrong to me. They have not handled any of this in a way that would indicate their son is innocent.

Just had to write that!

More importantly, yesterday or the day before the NPPD said "don't worry, we know exactly where Mr. Laundrie is". I can't get you the quote because when I look for it about 77 pages of results come up. I know some fellow WSer's could pinpoint it.

This statement aligns with all of the cases i've followed and commented on. emphatic statements are an overcompensation mechanism. When we are very confident we say less definitive statements. When I read the original comment I shuddered a bit, and here we are.

Lastly, can anyone explain something from the bodycam footage? When the LEO asks him to sit down, BL responds 7:52 "can I just sit in the shade, i'm bald?" Then he said "cross cross applesauce". I replayed it a few times and I have found it so odd. It almost appeared to be a puppet-ish behavior. Kind of like "jinx". Anyone have any insight here?

He also said in the beginning that he didn't have a phone. If she left him, he was stranded. Then, at the end he pulled his phone out...

BBM. Someone who draws a bit, copying other artwork is just that, IMO, not an artist.

Because the police messed up. While it is true he could not have his wires tapped, video surveillance, etc, they could keep tabs on him. That's how police work is done. They are trying to muddy the waters and confuse you all. Don't buy into it. It's simply not accurate that they could not keep tabs on this guy. In fact, it makes it more likely than ever that they never had any proof he was even in the state of Florida.

I am leaning more toward BL fleeing direct from UTAH and someone else driving the van back. Car rental companies, flights, gas stations, toll transponders all need to be checked between the 24th when Gabby checked out of SLC hotel and the 29th when TiKTok picked up BL hitchhiking, all alone, no gear, and more importantly, no vehicle.
Those cameras keep tabs on all of us every time we all go to Walmart. I agree LE could have kept tabs on BL as a person that has information to help a missing and possibly endangered woman.
