'Tis the season for elk crossings! While they are large animals, deep snow (like the 10-15 feet that can happen at Mount Rainier National Park in the winter) can still be a struggle. As snow builds up at higher elevations, the elk often move to lower elevations.

Nick Loflin, who founded the Greensboro race back in 2011, says more than 50,000 people have participated over the years.

He says the idea to hang Christmas light balls above participants came from a friends daughter.

Gabon mask sold for $165, resold for $4.6 million.

A second-hand dealer has won a case to keep the €4.2m (£3.6m; $4.6m) proceeds from the sale of a rare African mask he found in an elderly French couple's attic.
He had been brought in to help clear the attic of the couple, who sold him the mask for €150 (£129; $165).

Owl found indoors in family's Christmas tree in Kentucky
What a cutie!
I wonder How it survived for several days without food or water? I sure hope its mommy finds him!

ETA: It appears to be a live free so it could Have gotten water from the water in the stand.

An expert with the state agency believes the creature photographed in Walker County on Saturday was most likely a house cat, though it notes the photo quality makes it difficult to decipher.

Or ... someone's secret 'pet' escaped ?
