You Know You're Addicted to the Case When:

when you kind of fib to hubby about all the extra work you're getting (i work from home) when in reality you're on WB's reading day and night... and, you start to panic because hubby thinks you're making lots of extra cash when your workload has been really light... and, then you consider getting a secret small loan from mom and dad for an ipad (well deserved after all the "extra" work Im doing - not) but then you can watch the trial on your trip to the mountains in June...

Beginning to feel like a bad wife !

When you realize that more often than not, you are searching complete stranger's faces trying to decide if they could be related to a similar looking Jane/John Doe.

and you still tune in for a few hours of the first round of Frye hearings. Would have been able to watch more but got the laptop stolen at the airport.

I am SO sorry about your stolen laptop but I LOL'd so much, that was me last july at that hearing where CA was testifying, was with family in szentendre (hungary) having the best hot choc ever that I only get once a year if that, hurrying everyone else up to get me back to my laptop to watch the dang hearing! it was 103 F and I had to shower at warpspeed with only 3 minutes til hearing started! I amde it, too! :biglaugh:

Oh my gosh - I hope I am not the only one this has happened to, but ...

Has anyone else gained about ten pounds since all of this started?? I sure have!:blushing:

My DH retired earlier this year, and after rolling eyes for all this time, he has decided he wants to watch the hearings with me. Thank goodness the Frye hearings are technical. But the best part........he's rigged the laptop into the big screen TV so we can watch the huge live feed. AND, when court takes a break, he switches to InSession even without me asking to do that. Am I a lucky girl or what!!!!

You Know You're Addicted to the Case When:
You've been in the hospital for a week and you demand the Dr. release you on Sunday to be able to watch the hearings on Monday. True story , guys....... Feeling much better after massive antibiotics, steroids, blood thinners, etc. I don't post often, but I am always here sopping up all of the comments. Love you all. Blessings

Thank goodness you are back and posting. (I highly recommend posting more often, as it can soothe a savage soul and keeps you from focusing on your current illness). Glad you are feeling much better and looking forward to hearing from you more often!

You really are very lucky. My husband is for the most part totally annoyed with my interest in the case...but there are those days where a hearing has been particularly good that I play him snips and he shows more interest.

He still doesn't "get" the humor that I find in things...but he does give me a bit more leeway now that I've started thinking about the possibility of going back to Law School.

When I yell at the screen TV / Computer and scream "objection" and "relevence" to no audience in particular my kids just say..."Mommy are you going to go to Law School or what??".

One real "positive" that has come from all the watching, is that my kids can already identify with quite a bit of legal info. They even make comparisons to things. AND....John Grisham has just published his second book for kids about a "kid lawyer". THEY LOVED the firt one.

I was on a cruise when they found Caylee's remains, and I could only read about it with my remaining "time" purchased for onboard computer use.... I absolutely could not believe they found that precious child the week I decided to go on vacation. :banghead:

I know. My son did the same for me for movies. And I am sitting there watching a movie and I said wait a minute. Let me check the internet and yes the internet was available and then I checked WFTV and there it was in all its glory and I clicked on thehearings at noon and at five I was still watching on a 55 inch tv. Yes you can see every twitch. Thank you, thank you, thank you. The day is gone once you start. Just please someone have the entire trial.:praying:

Watch out spyhouston!!!! I'm on my way with Dr. Pepper and donuts!!!!! :rocker:

So I'm at the doctor's office rescheduling a follow-up appointment and they suggest mid-May...................

My reply........."Oh no! I'll be in trial!"

I saw a headline the other day with the word defense in it. I immediately thought of a legal defense, then read the headline again and realized it was talking about a football team's defense, LOL. Am I addicted or what?

You know you're addicted when you have to bite your tongue from saying LancelotLink's signature, "Same s***, different pocket square" in conversation, because you know you'd get the confused and/or stink eye.

When you see a 5 second snippet of Judge Belvin Perry on HLN, and go off on an hour long diatribe about the defense team even though no one is really listening to you. <sigh>

And like another poster said, when you wish you had a best friend who was interested in the case so you can discuss it. I love WS, but can't get on as much as I'd like to anymore :(

Ah yes addicted....went to a baby shower yesterday and luckily for me, yeah right, an old friend's daughter was there and she is an attorney in a big city....I thought corporate atty. but it is divorce/child custody stuff....I found myself trying to convince her to do criminal law because "I" am into a case in Florida.........yeah right like I know what I am talking about, lol.
I really need to get a grip.

I'm in the middle of moving back to my home state and in between packing, weeding out, cleaning, etc. I have both the TV and laptop tuned at all times. In May I'll be in the mountains of upper NY State and I pray I'll be able to get at least the internet reception for the trial. If not, I've got to go the nearest town with a library and get onto Websleuths to find out what's going on. I wouldn't miss it for the world!

... you are so desperate to find out which attorney for the DT is leaving that you navigate to Websleuths on a blackberry browser, muddle your way to the correct thread and try to read the tiny print. lol

(my employer monitors website access, so I knew I couldn't do that!)

You know PattyG/Sierra's youtube channel and depend on her efforts often to catch up on important things you missed :seeya:
