One good thing about this witness's testimony.....it is now perfectly clear how this case became so screwed up and why it took so long to make arrests in this case. I feel much more informed now......

If I were this dude, I'd feel embarrassed that I ever claimed ZA couldn't have had anything to do with HB's kidnapping. He might as well stand up and admit, "yeah, I'm a dufus who wasn't good at his job..."

i do wonder about that too...something very off in this whole community....was there some political pressure not to arrest these guys...heard some rumor that ZA has a relative high up in government in the state.

Don't know if ZA is connected or not. However, the drug use and abuse in the area has taken a toll on the resources. This witness (Dicus) has clearly found he can be more effective as a lawyer. Good thing because his demeanor as an officer would be a train wreck.


He is testifying for the defense and he is a lawyer now. He is using language specifically about the guys--- "idiots" so that he can seem like he is on the side of finding the killers among the dregs in this community, "Atrain" so that he can testify that Atrain is the leader not Zach. His folksy demeanor is deliberate and his language is deliberate. IMHO.

That ^^^ seems kind of shortsighted. Does he not imagine that some one might not take their phone with them, purposely?

i don't see him that way at all...simply not smart enough to create any demeanor other than what he is/was and that is someone that should never have had this job.

Dicus was also the one who Booth testified when he was pressed about "why not earlier?" Why why why.....Booth said Dicus had said he had checked ZA, JA, SA alibis early on. 3 years later TBI double-checked them since they had nothing on file.

If I'm on the jury I am *not* impressed with this witness. He comes across as a screwup who made rash decisions based on cell phone pings, which indicates he didn't use all tools available in his position within the TBI.
