i spent hours (10) with google earth maps, and that area south of cove mountain lane off alfred hartley rd is massive, and has truck accessible trails running through-out.

it runs down to the dragstrip area discussed sunday, and feeds through those interlaced roads down to rebel run.

it would take a large number of searchers on suv's, or horseback to search that area.

I believe the area you are referring to is "Lick Mountain" it is east of Carefree Ct. (a former address of EB I believe). A lot of the area is only accessible by four wheelers/walking/horseback. MHO

If this is the case, I can promise you someone is talking. I live in the Cherokee National forest, if you didn't know exactly where you were looking for something, you'd NEVER find it.

ETA: Big creek by that christmas tree farm by the way.

Mountain Kat, I agree entirely knowing the topography. Tip.

That and if you follow 321 from Hickory on up, well you will see some comparisons and an easier shot north than a lot of the other locations we've been searching.

I can't help but wonder if now word is starting to be a buzz about Z's case. Now some that seen something unusual, that didn't give much thought before now are saying something.

Yep. Also Yadkin and Indian Grave form a loop off of Blowing Rock Blvd (very common, very long route). If they were dumping and moving northward along Blowing Rock ..ugh!

Yes. exactly what I was looking for. I know it's frustrating for people to feel like we are all over the place, but it's tough when you're dealing with people who would dispose of a childs' body. They don't make things easy. So we're flying blind.
But that's the loop and the route I was looking for a few days back.
You're good Mnt Kat. ;)
Thank you for all of your hard work.
Unfortunately, we probably still have a lot before us. :(

Trust me, Oriah...I'm just flying by the seat of my pants, here. Hell, I only yesterday learned how to work Google Earth. (ssshhh...don't tell anyone.)

ETA: Now, if I can only get Hubby to teach me how to post the pics of what I'm seeing on Google. ;)

Ok, so after pouring over maps, watching the video of the area, pulling hair out, and having a mild fit (ok a major one). I have decided I am not abandoning my gut feelings. I am going back to my original zone, as it is where the ONLY evidence we know about has been found. Until they give us some confirmation I am going back over to my corner.

Not to dominate the discussion here, but has it occurred to anyone else that these few days prior to the fire incident that AB claims to have been away working, he may, in fact, have been riding and dumping? If that were the case, he could have taken days to do this.

You're a quick learner then. :)

Yep....:banghead:

Work records, anyone? Times when vehicles were at residence during the night?

Maybe an explanation for pillows, blankets, toothbrushes in Tahoe?

Starting to think my campground obsession this morning wasn't so stupid afterall.

WSOC-TV 5pm broadcast -- investigators say they may have found a new piece of evidence. Dave Faherty on scene, in Patterson community, along Indian Grave Rd. The area there is much more rugged, he says, than where they found Zahra's prosthetic leg.

He said 32 people are searching a 1-square mile area (about 20 miles from the residence in Hickory). Dave says there is another search planned for the Dudley Shoals community and it could take place as soon as tomorrow.

THANKS Sherbie! I stepped away and when I returned found you had answered the question posed to me. Here's the link the info:

"Investigators searched a wooded area in the Patterson community along Indian Grave Road in Caldwell County on Tuesday. More than 30 people were involved in the search, which focused on a one-mile area. Police wouldn’t elaborate on what led them to Indian Grave Road, which is about 10 miles north of where Zahra’s prosthetic leg was found and about 20 miles north of the Bakers’ Hickory home.

VIDEO: Search Continues 1 Month After Zahra Was Reported Missing

Community residents said they’ve seen police in the area off and on for about two weeks. People often dump trash in the rugged area along Indian Grave Road, which makes the area similar to past search sites.

Police found something during Tuesday’s search that they are taking a closer look at, but they would not say what it was."

In fact, I have been looking at the area labeled Patterson community along Indian Grave Rd. I assume the Patterson community relates to the Patterson School Rd. Since the search encompassed approximately 1 mile stretch I have highlighted an area I found of interest on Indian Grave Rd. Not saying this is the exact spot they were seraching, but here appears to be a drop off area and a pond of some sort.

Here is another link the the map I have been looking at for a one mile stretch - any thoughts? It could be anywhere on Indian Grave Rd and I just chose this area.

Blowing Rock is my favorite place in the world...the only place I know of that still to this day looks like a setting from a Normal Rockwell painting. :)

I have made the trek up 321 to BR so many times, and even just from the 321-vantage point, I can see how all these rugged, densely wooded areas would be tremendously difficult to search. I agree someone is talking...not an area you search if you don't have very good info to do so.

2 campgrounds near Yadkin that I can see, both off of Mulberry Creek Rd. (just throwing this out here for my own future reference.)

Sherbie...you are so right! Blowing Rock is a favorite :) I agree that someone MUST be talking. I am from Hickory...and we have woods....but goodness, anywhere in Caldwell County...is rugged, mountainous, and dense. I have some friends from the area..that grew up in Caldwell County...and they all just shake their heads at the amount of area this sweet child could have been taken to. Unless some others on here are right...and EB and AB drove and tossed evidence here and there....we are looking at a HUGE area to search. :banghead:
