OK, and what is with these roads? How do they go from one name change to another go back to original name and then oh, for the fun of it sometimes turn into a third name!?!?!?!

Gotta love North Carolina! I've been in Charlotte for almost 5 years now, and still get confused! We have some roads that change names 5 times in 5 miles! It's crazy! Oh...and our main freeway in Charlotte....goes in a big circle! There's no North, South, East or West...it's "Inner" or "Outer". How do you go north? You don't...you just hop on and hope you get there someday!

This is the part I can't stand...having searchers out somewhere and me just sitting here waiting. Easier to handle emotionally when I'm able to busy myself looking at maps.

Holy cow...looks like that creek goes on forever. In both directions.

Ultimately yes it does....it travels through petra mills to what they call Icard Dam Lake area and the dam empties into Lake Hickory!!!!

Guys head out to name roads
Guy says "let's call this one jumble road".
ok
they head on down the road go to put up 2nd sign to mark road and now can't remember what they called it, so they give it a new name, say braindead road.
continue on down... "oooh I remember, it was jumble road!" so they put up that sign.
and so on.....

Well, I'm not POSITIVE her birthday is today...but it's close enough for me to consider it a birthday gift to find her TODAY.

Awww, IIRC it is the 16th... which is less than a week away now Eleven years old and over five years out from her first cancer diagnosis. Bless her precious heart. I am praying so hard she is finally found today.

I was told most of the time a road is named after a person that owns the most property along side it. Then someone else own's a lot of property that runs over that road and they name it that. Of course that is just the ol' stoop sittin' talk. I wouldn't take a whole lot of truth from it. Although I do know some roads are named after people that own the property adjacent to it.

OT: Since you are discussing her birthday, it is the 16th and groups on FB are trying to arrange vigils, lighting a candle for her. I believe there is a vigil set up for Hickory. There is a thread started in the forum for it.

Back when we had the "general" threads, I remember someone posting that EB had a previous address on Burns Road. It's actually just up the road (not even a mile) from the intersection they were at today. I believe that address was found on a prior arrest report.

I've been searching, though, and can't seem to find the link where it came from. :waitasec:
