Just watched some of the clips from the hearing. It is time we start forcing legislators to enact reasonable rules in these situations...she had to sit there and testify, as FCA pled the 5th amendment?? Hope FCA's wages are taken from her for the rest of her LIFE.

What hearing? What wages?

How is it wrong? Z?G filed the suit in an attempt to win a cash award from a person she claims harmed her. The burden to show that she was harmed and that Casey is the one who did it falls on Z?G. As I said, if she can't show that, Casey never has to say a word. If the players were reversed, if it were Casey suing Z?G and Casey was questioned for 12 hours, would you still be complaining?

It's wrong because she is pleading the fifth, which means she is claiming her statement may incriminate her. She shouldn't be able to do this in a civil case. If it were reversed, I wouldn't mind this because I don't really worry about what happens to child killers.

KC of course saw the Z?G card at the apartments and decided to use that name but she had to just spin the "truth" a bit like she always does and added the F to Z?G so it wasn't really the Z?G...kind of like her friend Jeff who was "rich and had a kid".

Fortunately the law works the same way for everyone, or at least it's supposed to. We can't pick and choose who is or isn't entitled to their legal rights, even if we do believe the person is evil. That's one of the benefits of living in America.

The ZFG hearing where she answered questions. Her future wages if she ever decides to work.

Oh, you mean the deposition. I thought maybe I'd missed a hearing. Casey...work? :floorlaugh:

But when she pleads the 5th in a civil case, it CAN be held against her (i.e., the judge/jury may assume that the answer would be harmful to her case). If Morgan et al. were really trying just to win the case for ZFG, therefore, they should have been thrilled that she was pleading the 5th. It makes winning so much easier in a civil case. But in actuality (IMO), Morgan et al. were more interested in forcing her to answer the questions that the world wants to hear answered. So, if that was the goal, they should have waited until the appeal on the lying charges was fully resolved before taking her depo (assuming, of course, that their client is on board with this "strategy" of getting media attention rather than concentrating directly on winning the case).

For what it's worth, FCA did say a name of ZFG. she also used the name Sawgrass and I believe mentioned to CA the area of Kissimee-well, the information come up to the public by 1 or both of them. What was LE supposed to do, leave it alone? That was way too close for comfort. I'd imagine there would have been more ZG's being questioned, BUT LE honed in on the fact of the connection to Sawgrass-it was only 1 innocent person who happened to go looking for an apartment there, and her life got turned upside down, as did a few other innocent people, but not of this magnitude. Sure felt sorry for ZG when she choked up during her deposition. That was a real and true emotion, imo. So astounding how so many people got hurt by FCA and CA too. Shameful.

ZFG showed more emotion than we've ever seen from FCA.

I think that their strategy was twofold - see if she was willing to answer questions, and if not, let her pleading the 5th be held against her. I don't think ZG is in this for the fame. I don't know anyone willing to go through a twelve hour deposition just to get media attention. I think Morgan was hoping for more, but he's probably happy with what he's got. Everyone knows Casey killed Caylee. Jeff's book helped cement that in a lot of people's minds by now. Most people don't doubt that Casey is responsible for Caylee's death. There's no mystery to be cleared up here, nothing we don't know already. And her acting like a crazy person is just continuing to hurt her. I highly doubt she'll ever admit it, and there's no revelations to be had anyway. It'll just be a lie number one thousand for Casey if she ever does speak. In a sense, Morgan got what he wanted. Casey is not going to win this case after taking the 5th 60 times. I've never heard of ANYONE taking it that many times. That is just crazy to me. And it should be disturbing to the jury too. The state has said they're not going after her again. What could she possibly have to hide that much? This is something the jury can't ignore, IMO (I hope to God because after the criminal trial, anything is possible. Thank God civil trials are different, though).

In fact, I doubt this ever makes it to trial. I have the feeling there will be some kind of out of court settlement. Then again, I didn't think Baez should go to trial either, so maybe it will because Casey is feeling lucky again. I hope her luck runs out in a big way this time.

Seems like there's a bit of the CA belligerence here with FCA needing to "win" against anyone who dares question her. I don't understand why she doesn't just settle it somehow...she already owes in the hundreds of thousands if I'm not mistaken (as if that will ever be paid). Why lose sleep over another 15k?

Well, Horace, come on. This isn't about the money. Casey can't let a woman who isn't a ten win against her. That just can't happen. It's vanity. Casey has to win against whoever is against her, especially the ugly woman she used to make up an invisible nanny. I'm sure Cindy is quietly cheering her on from the sidelines. No way a woman who isn't a ten should win against Cindy's daughter. Like mother, like daughter. It's stupid, and she should settle, but her vanity and ego won't let her.

I think the reason KC will not settle, will not apologize is because she constantly has people around her who will not make her admit she is wrong. They are all enablers. And that includes her attorneys. All that they've accomplished in three years was to create a bigger problem. The "Queen of Hearts" now knows no bounds and will expect everyone to do her bidding or "off with their heads". Her attorneys have created their own nightmare. jmo

Good. They deserve it, all of them. I hope it's the kind of nightmare that never goes away from them too.

It's not just $15k, that's a figure used to determine which court gets the case. Civil cases over $15k go circuit court, under $15,000 go to the county court. If Z?G is hoping to win a gazillion dollars, it would still say over $15,000 on the paperwork.

IMO this will never go to court, trial. fca wore a disguise to the depo so we can't see what she looks like now. I used to think that she was staying out of the media so she could pull a "look at me now" interview, but that would defeat the point of changing her appearance. Most likely she has a new name. We will never see her in a courtroom again, unless she is arrested for another crime And depending on how much she has changed her appearance, we might only recognize who she is if the old gang is surrounding her - and of course, if GA CA & LE are there. So my question is: what sort of stall stall antics can fca & Greene pull to forever keep this out of court if the court continues to let this go forward and ZFG refuses to accept an out of court payoff?
If Greene can keep this out of court until her probation is over can she just disappear, if her name change is sealed would the court unseal that record so M&M & Tim Miller could hunt for her?

We can thank Judge Perry for that. He bought Baez's unsubstantiated nonsense hook, line, and sinker.
