58. This search led to a dumpster at that crossroads. A cadaver dog alerted to the dumpster.
59. The driver of the garbage truck who disposed of the dumpster said that dumpster is usually filled with camping materials.
60. However, on March 23, 2023, the day after Defendant Kosowski stopped at that crossroads for a few minutes, the garbage truck driver described the dumpster as heavier than normal and described it as smelling “******* vile.”
61. A video from the garbage truck of the dumpster being emptied into the garbage truck shows a large garbage
23-02935-CF 11 of 14 bag falling in a manner inconsistent with normal trash and consistent with being shaped and falling in a manner not inconsistent with a wrapped human body.
62. After viewing the video, the garbage truck driver definitively stated S.C.’s body was picked up from the Loop Rd dumpster and delivered to the landfill.
63. Eight days after the dumpster was emptied at the Collier County Landfill, after the cadaver dogs hit on the dumpster, and after law enforcement viewed the video, multiple law enforcement agencies attempted a multi-day recovery effort for S.C.’s body to no avail.
64. Law enforcement learned from employees of Waste Management that trash disposed in the Collier County landfill is compacted to approximately 1/3 its normal size making recovery efforts nearly impossible.

About the incident in the utility room on March 14th.

10. On March 14, 2023, Defendant Kosowski was observed in a storage closet in the shared hallway of 1501-B S. Belcher Road. He was chased off the property by a concerned employee of the veterinary clinic housed in same office complex as the Blanchard law firm. After he left, employees discovered a blue collapsible wagon in a box in the utility closet. No one who works at the building left the wagon. The wagon was not present in the building during processing after the murder of S.C.

I found it very difficult to read and follow all of the DNA comparisons due to how the examiner stated the results.

There is a hearing on Tuesday for a motion to dismiss and a motion to set bond. I did wonder if TK knew about this evidence prior to filing those two motions?

From reading the State Attorney's Motion for pretrial detention, LE knows the location of Mr Cozzi but they were unable to locate him after days of searching I respect and appreciate all of the LE departments involved for undertaking that search and trying to find him, even though the odds were against them.

According to the motion, by the time authorities arrived, the trash in the landfill was “compacted to approximately 1/3 its normal size making recovery efforts nearly impossible.”

An affidavit by Detective Colin Bolton of the Largo Police Department said “medical waste, regular trash, and animal carcasses were among the debris dumped into the area of the landfill
suspected to contain the body of [Steven Cozzi].”

As of this report, Cozi’s body remains unrecovered.
