After Jennifer Kesse disappeared, www.jenniferkesse.com was set up to help find the missing girl. For years people have posted well wishes, encouragement, even tips on where the girl might be. And every morning Drew Kesse reads the guestbook portion of the site.

In the last few months some of the emails have taken a different tone.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is now gathering all of the emails and FOX 35 has learned investigators have a good handle on who the person may be.

Man who claims he killed Jennifer Kesse expected in Georgia courtroom today
December 4, 2009
<snipped>
A man investigators said posted YouTube.com videos claiming he killed missing Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse and more than a dozen other people testified in a Georgia court Friday.

Suspected "catchmekiller" Andrew Haley said he was frightened when he talked to law-enforcement officers trying to find the true identity of the Internet video poster.

"I was scared that I was going to go to jail," Haley said in court, according to a report by The Times of Gainesville, Ga. "I thought I was wanted for murdering someone, all because of a game."

Haley testified in an attempt to have statements he made to law enforcement thrown out. Judge David Burroughs denied the request, Hall County District Attorney Lee Darragh said.

A request to throw out evidence from a seized laptop computer also was denied. Haley's pregnant wife was being treated in a room at Northeast Georgia Medical Center where one Internet posting was traced, according to court testimony, according to the report from The Times.

24-year-old Jennifer Kesse vanished with out a trace on January 24th, 2006.

"Honestly, at this point, I think my daughter was trafficked," says father Drew Kesse.

As Jennifer Kesse's family searches for leads in her disappearance, they are also finding responses they never could have imagined.

Death threats, *advertiser censored* postings and, in one particularly troubling twist, a man who went online claiming he was her killer.

"Our lives have been threatened, which is really out of bounds to me," says Kesse. "I can't even conceive of getting threatened after you have an adult daughter abducted."

As part of their efforts to find his daughter, Kesse has released a number of photos of her. Kesse says the photos have ended up being used for sordid purposes.

FDLE experts review missing woman's case
September 10, 2009

More than a dozen law-enforcement officers and criminal-justice experts from across the state met Wednesday in Orlando, where they were briefed on the Jennifer Kesse case.

The 17-member panel -- known as a Specialized Multi-Agency Review Team -- was brought together by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to help Orlando police with their investigation into the young woman's disappearance in 2006.

The panel members are not associated with the Kesse case, and the hope is that they can provide a fresh set of eyes and thoughts for the Orlando investigation.

Jennifer Kesse disappeared nearly four years ago, now her family has announced a $1 million reward for information leading to her safe return.

"We know that someone in this world knows what has happened to Jennifer. If there is the miracle that she is still alive, we have great hope that this new reward will finally convince someone who knows where Jennifer is to come forward," her father Drew said in a news release.

No one has seen Kesse, who grew up in the Bay Area, since January 24, 2006.

Kesse's family and friends promise to never give up on their search.

"The unconditional love we have and show for Jennifer will never wane, it will only grow from now and forever," Drew Kesse said.

The family of missing Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse has raised the reward in her case to $1 million.

The catch? To collect, Kesse has to be returned unharmed by Feb. 24.

A 17-member panel brought together by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement was briefed on the case in September. So far, however, Kesse remains missing.

Drew Kesse is president of the Florida Missing Children's Day Foundation. He will speak Saturday at a fundraiser that's been organized by Stop Child Trafficking Now.

Kesse says he and his wife have also reached out to others whose loved ones are missing, including the family of Tracy Ocasio, an Ocoee woman who went missing in May.

"I've had many conversations with Joe(Tracy's father)," Kesse said. "We helped set some searches with some people that we had used in the past."

Needless to say, it's an unfortunate way to make new friends.

Police Search For Body Of Missing Orlando Woman

The Orlando Police Department is searching a wooded area near Oakridge Road and
Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando after receiving a tip that the body of missing
Orlando woman Jennifer Kesse may be buried in the area.

UPDATED: New Search In Jennifer Kesse Case Turns Up Nothing

A tip led police to start digging through an Orlando field Friday morning searching for her remains. About 50 people looked but didn't find anything. "We have concluded the search of the areas of interest as it related to the Jennifer Kesse Tip. The search yielded negative results," Sgt Barb Jones wrote in a released emailed around 2:40pm.

The field they searched is off Orange Blossom Trail near Oak Ridge Road. It's just a five-minute drive from Kesse's old condo near the Mall at Millenia.

A tip came from an unnamed informant. It must have been big, because police spent the day searching the field in Orlando. But it was a tip that eventually fizzled with time. At the onset, there seemed to be much hope. Police received a tip from an informant and it seemed like a legitimate one. “The information we received was related specifically to the Jennifer Kesse case,” Sgt. Jones said.

It brought them to the vast field off Orange Blossom Trail in Orlando. When the search seemed to go dry, officers seemed to try harder, going step by step with machetes to cut tall grass and weeds and their own hands to poke around, but not one piece of evidence, not one clue was found.

At one point, three specially trained search dogs were brought in and they appeared to have found something, but again nothing of value came from the search. "The Kesses want to know what happened to their daughter. The Orlando police wants to know. So does everyone in the country," Sgt. Jones said.

“Imagine what heartache is and multiply it by a million,” Joyce Kesse, Jennifer's mom, said Friday afternoon. Jennifer's parents, Drew and Joyce Kesse, have felt the anguish repeat itself with each and every search. “We're still committed as we continue this fight to give Jennifer the best chance to be found. She deserves that,” Joyce said.

Investigators said there have been over 1,000 tips in the case.

OPD: search for Kesse turns up nothing
2/19/10

The Orlando Police Department and FDLE said they were following up on a tip in the Kesse case. Detectives thought the tip was credible enough to bring crime scene techs and searchers out to the site. Dozens of people worked through the day and hoped it might be the break they were looking for. “We did what we wanted to do out here and we didn’t find anything of evidentiary value as it relates to Jennifer Kesse or really anything else,” said Sgt. Barbara Jones from the Orlando Police Department.

Kesse has been missing for more than 4 years. There have been very few clues concerning her disappearance. Her parents, Drew and Joyce Kesse, got a call early Friday morning about the search and were sure this was the break they were looking for. “We are strong and we are going to keep working on finding her. We are strong she deserves that,” said Joyce Kesse.

The Tracy Ocasio case is sounding a little like a high profile case making central Florida headlines for 3 years now. Jennifer Kesse vanished from her condo near Mall at Millenia in January 2006. Cops also found her car but no sign of Jennifer. Her parents, friends and family plastered posters everywhere hoping for any clues. Jennifer's father, Drew, is now working with a foundation for missing children all across Florida.

Lead detectives investigating the case say they're meeting with FDLE to compare notes and see if there is a connection to the Jennifer Kesse. Kesse is the Orlando woman who's now been missing for three years.

Search for Jennifer Kesse in south Orlando field is unsuccessful
Police say they didn’t find anything that helps them in their investigation into Orlando woman’s disappearance

A tip triggered the search, but police would not identify that person or say when the tip was made, stating only that it was "credible."

"There's a reason why they're here," Jones said.

Jones said police have searched this field in the past; however, she said this is the first time they actually performed a dig at the site.

Records show this is the third such search in nine months for Kesse. In the past, the Kesse family knew about them well in advance and helped organize them, but this time was different.

Drew Kesse, Jennifer Kesse's father, received a call just before the dig started, he said. A source tipped off investigators to the Orange Blossom Trail location, and search dogs alerted law-enforcement officers they needed to dig.

Authorities have told them little else.

Kesse was to hold a news conference Friday afternoon.

The last time anyone heard from Jennifer Kesse was about 10 p.m. Jan. 24, 2006, when she called her boyfriend in Fort Lauderdale. Police think she was abducted at or near the Mosaic at Millenia, an upscale condominium complex on Americana Boulevard in southwest Orange County.

Three days later, her Chevrolet Malibu was discovered at the intersection of Americana and Texas Avenue. The car was about a mile from her condo.

When police unleashed a bloodhound to follow her scent, the dog tracked from the car back to the front door of her condo.

After searching for hours, police said they did not find remains near where Jennifer Kesse was last seen. A tip led them back to the area.

"We did what we wanted to do out here, and we didn't find anything of evidentiary value as it relates to Jennifer Kesse, or really anything else," Sgt. Barb Jones said.

A tip brought investigators to the area and it is possible cadaver dogs gave them reason to intensify the search.

A backhoe was brought in as well as ground-penetrating radar as part of the search.

"I remember when she went missing," Barbara Malewich said. "I would see her mom every day at the corner of John Young trying to find tips about her."

Orlando Police, FDLE Investigators Conduct Dig In Vacant Field

POSTED: Friday, February 19, 2010
UPDATED: 2:52 pm EST February 19, 2010

A six-hour search in a vacant Orlando filed ended Friday afternoon in the case involving Jennifer Kesse, who has been missing since 2006.

Sources told Local 6 that a tipster claiming to be a family member of the person who may have abducted Kesse said Kesse's body is possibly buried in the field. Three K-9s alerted on an area, prompting a larger dig using heavy equipment.

"It's an area we're considering a crime area," Orlando police Sgt. Barb Jones said earlier in the day. "They're back there with equipment -- I guess it's a font-loader -- and they're going through methodically."

The vacant field is located about a mile from Kesse's condo, Mosaic at Millenia, where she was last seen.

No New Evidence Found In Jennifer Kesse Search
Friday, February 19, 2010 6:33:23 PM
<snipped>
Late Friday afternoon, Joyce and Drew Kesse found out officers did not find any new evidence during their search.

“We really believe that we were going to be having the answer that we didn't want,” Joyce Kesse said. “We are not stupid, ignorant people. We are just people who care and will focus on hope. And today kind of seem to really take all that away in a millisecond. And then you're thrown into what for four plus years you've hoped wouldn't be and it didn't pan out to be.”

The Kesses said they are still holding out hope their daughter will come home alive after disappearing four years ago.

They said miracles do happen.

The family said officers will do some DNA tests on soil from the site.

Police would not say where the tip that prompted the search came from.

4 Years Later, Kesse’s Parents Up Ante

<snipped>
Sunday marks four years since Jennifer Kesse disappeared from her Orlando home.

Kesse was 24 when she vanished on Jan. 24, 2006. Her car was found a few days later, about a mile away from her condominium.

Four years later, there have been no new leads, but as the case grows colder, Kesse’s family continues working to try to make sure their heartbreak doesn’t happen to anyone else.

Jennifer’s parents, Drew and Joyce Kesse, hosted a community safety event Saturday.

The “Beacon of Hope for the Missing” event included free fingerprinting and ID cards for children, personal safety training and even a martial arts school.

The reward for information leading to Jennifer’s safe return has gone from $1,000 to $1 million. And $10,000 to find a person of interest in the investigation.

The rewards will only be offered until Feb. 24.
