Still waiting for the ID on the remains found in South Las Vegas. Maybe the thread won't be such ghost town once we know who the UID is.

I have a simple question that maybe one of the other users may know. Does WS allow users more than one user name for posting on threads? I ask this because there are times when I'll think to myself, "Hey, that new poster is so-in-so from last year."

As someone that came into this thread later in the game and works for LE, my opinion is we need to start over. What do we really know and what has been stated on several threads, thousand of time, that is not fact. The reason I state this is because what I assumed was fact from reading thread from start to finish (at the time this was featured case) made assumptions that was pointed out to me not to be factual. Would like to focus on his movements before his disappearnce as they don't make sense. Gas cost money, he was unemployed and traveling several miles. Also he missed church, and although as a christian I have been known to miss church not when something was expected of me. His movements and behavoir before his disappearnce to me as someone that works in LE is very important. I think we need to focus on this and not make character judgements or bash new opinions/theories that maybe don't line up with whats been stated before. His family misses him and deserves closure (on that note his cousin has a great website devoted to him worth checking out and the link is within the threads somewhere).

Help! What isn't fact that we've thought was? Do you have insider information? Maybe this information could help us move forward.

Lieber32, Are you verified with mods? I've only been on this thread a bit longer than yourself, however I cannot remember that far back who is the verified professionals on this thread.

For the new posters: I am not verified. I have no connections to LE or the family.

Let's get back to that neighborhood, as the P.I stated Steven Koecher walked into a big mess. I don't think that Steven Koecher left that neighborhood and someone in that neighborhood knows what happened.

Kelly

Kelly, Remind me please, when did the PI state, "Steven Koecher walked into a big mess."

I agree with you that SK is no longer with us, yet I don't remember the PI revealing any information. While at the search near the exec airport the PI didn't reveal anything to us.

This says that the estimated height is 68". This is close to Steven's height which IIRC is 70"

Mile marker 20, SR-160, is where Dragan Rnic's vehicle was found, with various reports as to when his vehicle was found.

"Dragan Rnic was last seen Dec. 1 driving a white 2003 Honda Odyssey minivan with no license plates. Police said Rnic’s car was found abandoned the next day one mile east of Mountain Springs on the north side of State Road 160 near mile marker 20."

I'm mystified, though, by the two sets of male remains. Perhaps they are listed separately, until confirmed as the same/different by DNA? Or has a body dump been discovered?

Interesting news. Way back in the threads,I seem to remember that we found that a few young guys had gone missing in the Vegas valley area under unusual circumstances.. MOO

carbuff and I researched missing men and put them on the timeline pages...but there was no similarities that we could see.

We've added two newer disappearances:
Charlie Fox, June 14th, 2011 -- left his cellphone and ID behind in his parents' North Las Vegas. A trucker found his car, a few days later, on the Arizona-Nevada border, with Fox's body inside. Suicide.
David Miller, Sep 4, 2011 -- left his cellphone and ID behind in his parents' Summerline home (maybe had some cash). Left while under mental duress of some sort. Car found a few days later, parked near Jared Jewelry and In-N-Out Burger, which are near the onramps of US-93 and Sunset. Still no word.

One other case has been cleared:
Matthew Watson Brenton, June 7, 2007 -- Last seen at 9am at a Vegas hotel-casino. NCMA says "few details are available" but his wife has kept people informed via his Facebook page. Apparently, he left a a suicide note. His widow says his body was found on September 7, 2011. Few details available, except for indications that he was found near a Navy base in the state of Virginia. Left his wife with a load of debt when he disappeared.

TY Laytonian. I was thinking also of the young guy who disappeared out by the far west side, left behind his new car, cell phone ID etc... . I believe he was an electrician, from Texas ?? I wonder whatever happened in his case, I 've never heard anything new... Sad...

I haven't found any updates regarding the remains that were found early in the year in the Southern Highlands. http://www.lvrj.com/news/human-bones-found-in-desert-115303644.html

There was some speculation that these might be Steven. I have tried, but I have not yet found an update.

I don't have a link to a source, but I can quote swjaxon who checked with the coroner's office within the last week: No DNA returned yet, nothing's been officially ruled in or out , but they don't "think" it's Steven.

Maybe the remains (bones) are too "old" to be him. I don't know.

Clark County sends all UIDs to a forensics school in Texas, where the DNA analysis is done for free, but it's slow due to the obvious workload. We had expected a 6-8 month turnaround on those remains, which would have meant DNA analysis completed between August and October.

Trevor Paul Morse, who took a taxi to a newly-built strip mall area.

Thanks Laytonian! You are great!

I have not been following this thread but waited on a guy that could have been steve's twin on Thursday at work (Civillian LE talked to both believe and Tricia not sure if I was ever verified, was a very stressful week) and thought to check in. Was surprised that I was being quoted. The guy was sent on behalf of company to get a police report and I don't think its Steve. I don't have inside info, work in Missouri not Utah or Nevada. <modsnip: please alert offending posts - don't respond>. At the moment cannot remember what it was. Another thread I've followed more closely is Maura Murrays and the same issue has come up, although not in the same manner and not with myself directly just an observation by someone that works in LE as a civillian employee who sells police reports to public. <modsnip>.

Not sure I understand your post. You are saying that someone that looked like Steven, but whom you don't actually think was Steven, came into your workplace in Missouri to request a police report? And that on another occasion a girl who looked like Maura Murray, but whom was not, was seen by someone else you know? Do I have this right? With all due respect, not sure I understand the point, if you don't actually think these people were the missing persons. Do I have it right?

Was sad to see Steven's thread on Page 5. Very upsetting. Any word on the remains found in Las Vegas semi-recently? Sadly, I don't think Steven is alive but I do believe his remains are in the Henderson-Las Vegas area, either in plain sight in a remote area or buried in a shallow grave. It's just going to take an observant individual keeping their eyes wide open...

still thinking about you, Steven...
