Devan's mother says Devan bought a brand new 2013 Toyota Scion on a Friday

McElhinny says her daughter Devan Knapp, 19, of Brookville told her she wanted to go show off her new car on Friday.

Around 11:00pm, McElhinny got a text from her daughter saying she was watching movies and that was the last time she heard from her. No one else has seen or heard from her either.

Police were able to track her cell phone to the Fisher area, so the search and rescue team were headed that way.
 
Does this young lady work ?
Who paid for the car? sorry if i missed this information!

Oh and where was she watching movies?
 
Anyone know what the Fisher area is like? I know zilch about PA. Are there hills? Cliffs? etc?

Devan has a picture with a guy on her FB. The message with the picture could be looked at as maybe they have some sort of relationship. Anyway, the guy just announced that he got married to MD in Hawaii. Not sure why people are thinking MD=Devan.
 
One friend of a friend suggested Wisconsin, for some reason.

I attempted to match up the parking lot area in the pic to the Google street view of the Sheetz / surrounding lot area in Brookville .. not much luck.

Is Devan's car parked next to or near the bank? .. is that a debit / credit card in Devan's hand?

By this time, LE is probably reviewing surveillance cameras footage from the Sheetz and / or surrounding businesses .. let's hope more clues are forthcoming.

Better yet, let's hope she is found safe and sound!

I guess we are to assume that pic with her sitting on the hood is from the night she went missing? If so, who took that picture?
 
The rumor I read was escorting may have been involved. They based it on this...

1) Her FB says some older guy "gave her a car" that looks very new.
2) Pics on FB look very woman of the nightish.
3) A lot of the pics are from hotels.
3) This article - http://exploreclarion.com/2012/05/26/man-assaulted-following-drug-related-dispute/ - she's a pill-popper and had someone beat up.
4) There were posts removed on FB that talk about being out with various guys.
5) Tattoo she got was about being a sinner.
6) Some older guy on her FB made creepy, disgusting comments on several of her pictures just days ago, and stated he wants to see her AGAIN.

All speculation, and doesn't mean she shouldn't be looked for.
 
This is what DEVAN wrote about the Lexus:

That was Dec. 30th. So she got a new car since then?

There is this Dowd character comments on her FB photos. Says he's in Cincinnati, but all of his friends are high school or middle school girls from Pennsylvania...only 178 friends but 90% of them are very young girls. At least TWO of them work at Sheetz...he put a singles ad on his FB page (about himself) on 1/2/2012, last time he posted...just sayin.

Much of western PA has big "hills" and then become steeper/bigger the more SW you go toward WVA, etc. It is part of the Appalachia Mountain Range. It gets really foggy in this area and the eastern edge of Ohio. We need to remember it was raining early in the day and then temps dropped. Black ice is very possible as well. I drove the PA turnpike frequently...it's a little south of where she was, but you start to climb and descend, more curves etc. I got between 2 semis doing about 75 at 3 in the morning in the 70's and not much older than Devan. My new husband woke up and was scared *&&(less.! Actually I was too because we were in the middle of the switchbacks and I was afraid of getting into the outside lane to pass. :what:

Just heard from a very reliable source that she just got out of jail, was due to go to court-ordered rehab on Jan. 3rd or when a bed became available, was violating parole, still strung out on pills and probably is hiding. As a 19 year-old it is her right. I don't think she is in danger or in fear of her life...

I have not read a source / description of the pic of Devan sitting on the hood of what appears to be her new 2013 Toyota Scion FR-S .. but I *assume* it was taken Friday (1/11/2013) evening or more recent .. based on a news article indicating Devan purchased that model car the same Friday she went assumed missing (link below).

No mention of if Devan's / someone else's phone was used to take the pic and the pic was then sent to her mother's or a friend's phone or email account.

Articles indicate Devan told her mother "she wanted to go show off her new car." That was 6:00pm.

An article also indicates Devan "texted" her mother "around 11:00pm" stating "'she was watching movies' and that was the last time she heard from her. No one else has seen or heard from her ether [sic]." Based on the context of the article we are led to assume the text was sent Friday evening.

No public information is released regarding if she was with friends / others.

An article also references her cell phone location:

"Monday [1/14/2013], the Track and Trail Search and rescue team was out looking for Knapp. State Police put out a missing person report. Police were able to track her cell phone to the Fisher area so, the search and rescue team headed that way."

A local reporter indicated dogs were used in the search in Fisher.

There is probably much we don't know at this time .. as seems to be typical for these cases.

No word on bank account activity or cell phone activity beyond Friday evening.

Nor am I - it's obvious from photos they aren't the same person, just from the tattoos they each have.

That 'news' explains an exchange I had on FB with "friend of her mom" .. the person became a bit agitated when I referenced a news article from 5/26/2012 regarding an incident that involved someone being severely beaten after having not completed a transaction involving "prescription drugs".

It also explains a person [BD] commenting on one or more of Devan's FB pics .. that he "wanted to see her again" .. that person is on parole, so we might assume he met her while in jail?
