I hope so too IW. I was wondering if I was reading more into the short version myself. The paragraphs are not very clear to me.

To all the friends who have helped in the search for Anna, I would like to dedicate this posting from my blog, http://writeritewrightright.blogspot.com:

Growing Up In Heaven

When my daughter disappeared 36 years ago, her kindergarten class was traumatized. They refused to accept their teacher's statement that nobody knew what had happened to Anna.

"But where is she?" they asked. "Is she dead?"

"We don't know," the teacher answered. This teacher, fair-haired, dimpled, brilliant, was one of Anna's favorite people in all the world.

"I don't want to disappear," one student said. "I want to grow up."

"Anna will grow up," the teacher said. "If she doesn't grow up on earth, she will grow up in heaven."

For years, I would look at children the age Anna would have been and wonder what she would look like at that time. Once in a while I would see one of her kindergarten classmates and notice that they had lost their baby teeth, that they were getting taller.

Then about 18 years ago, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children began its program of producing age-progressed pictures of missing children. They would write and ask for family pictures. Using kindergarten pictures along with pictures of family members at various ages, they would come up with their idea of what Anna would look like at age 23, 27, 31.

I found it difficult to look at these pictures, though as forensic software became more sophisticated, the pictures began to look more like a real person. Once I gathered up courage and made pencil changes to one of the portraits to see how she might look with glasses or short hair.

Then Steve Loftin, a retired police officer and forensic artist at the National Center, produced a picture of Anna at the age of 38 and sent it to me, asking what I thought. The face thinner, I said; the forehead higher. When the picture was finished, I knew that if she had grown up in this world, that was what she would look like.

Steve also did an age-regressed picture, one which might have appeared in a high school annual, and I thought "Yes, that's what she might have looked like."

We may never know what happened to Anna, even though her case is still open and is officially considered a "probable non-family abduction". But because of an incredibly vigorous search, my idea of my daughter is no longer stuck in kindergarten. A Google search on her name brings up thousands of hits. She has a Facebook page and at least two MySpace pages which play her favorite song. She is a featured case on Websleuths, a community of 17,000 amateur detectives. The International Center for Missing and Exploited Children runs a video about her. She has a website, www.searchingforanna.com, and a book by the same name which is distributed on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

It's not exactly growing up in heaven, but at least thousands of people have become acquainted with this happy child.

Links don't always work for me, but the breif left me confused. For myself it seemed vague. I too hope not, but I guess it leaves me questioning were there any male/female couples in the area or along the west coast at the time kidnapping children?

If the link doesn't work for me would Annasmom or Sherlock mind copying it for me and sending it via pm or email?

thanks!

ETA: The link did not work for me as suspected- (my computer). Was there more at the link than the short breif? IF so, can someone pm or email it to me? Pm me for an email addy. thanks.

I found this picture on a website that posts photos of unknown people represented in old photographs. The ears looked very familiar to me. What is interesting is that it mentions locations of New Castle and Lawrenceville, PA. Maybe someone here could do a side by side comparison to GB (work such as that is not one of my fortes, I am sorry to say).

Could someone please take a look and see what you think?

Thanks!

Although I didn't get the same sense of "recognition" with this fellow, his ears also caught my eye. Interesting to note, he is also from the New Castle, PA area.

I think the 2nd picture looks alot like George Brody. Of course, since the picture is of a unknown man, it doesn't help much, but interesting still.

At the request of Anna's mother and several members who have followed this case, our astrologers worked on Anna's charts.

I've attached 5 links to the Astrology CASE BRIEFINGS thread regarding Anna's Natal chart and the Event chart for the day she went missing.

After I posted my huffy letter to them, I did get three PMs requesting particulars and one of them said she was working on the charts, but if you look at their postings, it is obvious that they are more interested in breaking news regarding strangers than in an old case where the family members are reading what they say. Which is OK---

Here's something funny: When I went to Google Earth to get the coordinates of our place on the farm, I found that the present owner had the buildings blocked out so that you can't see them. Now, that takes clout! (I just guessed at the coordinates, based on the distance from the Redwoods Preserve.)

That is quite untrue. Belinda Miller, preceding the work done for you, was a request by her sister who not only read the chart and interpretation but thanked us for it.

The point of the whole matter is, is that we didn't even get a response to our request because that whole forum was so focused on the headline news cases than the cases that have been on WS for years. Yes, headline news is so much more exciting, but are they more important than a case that isn't in the headlines? Not to us....

A polite response such as, "we have received your request and will get to it as soon as possible. In the meantime, we need this information..." etc., goes a lot further than no response at all until a big deal is made by the fact that a request is being ignored.

Thank you, FifthEssence. All I had seen was the one paragraph summary and so I am glad to have the chart and the explanation. Thank you very much for working on this.

I am very sorry that I did not thank you for your work before now. I did not think it would effect me as dramatically as it did, and I felt I had to pull back from the whole thing for a few days. I hope you understand our frustration at feeling that our request was not getting through. We didn't always know where to look on your large and busy forum and I think the "chat" about cases currently in the news was distracting. However, I am deeply appreciative of the time, effort, and probably the difficulty that doing this research cost you. So once again, thank you.

Has anyone made any progress in seeing if a passport was issued for Anna?

Has anyone made any progress in seeing if a passport was issued for Anna?

I had one phone call from our congresswoman's office to the effect that they had contacted the passport office. Trying to deal with the State Department is like banging your head against a brick wall. It is astonishing that I was able to get the information on GW's passport after a year of phone calls, letters and notarized statements.

May 25 is National Missing Children's Day. The custom is to leave a porch light on in the evening to show the way home. Please join me.

Dear friends,
Remember to leave your porch lights on tonight for Missing Children's Day.

i havent posted on any of the anna threads before - have been more involved in the sharon marshall threads - so forgive me - but somewhere in one of these threads i saw mention of a middle name suggested by GB that was rejected by annasmom - not the eifee name but another, but now i can't find it.
does anyone remember?

another question I have is about the picutre of a george brody at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nepaphotos/1941meyers/1941 Page 9.jpg

is this the same GB or proposed to be the same GB? I ask because I am interested in someone else's picture on that page - at the top left is someone named John Beehler who to me bears a remarkable resistance to the GB who later in life entered the life of George waters...and who evidently had a strong interest in mathmatics (note the comments about science and the theory of limits) and hence may possibly have had a strong interest in numerology - and who may have known of the name "george brody"....also am curious why the GB pictured is called 'sheriff'.
thanks

Welcome, CuriousInAtlanta: The name you are speaking of was Christiana Benedo Waters, the first "numerologically correct" name Brody suggested. Because I insisted on staying with the name I had chosen (named for her grandmother, my sister, and my Aunt Annie), the Georges added the name "Eifee" to Anna Christian to make what they called a "27", which was supposed to be a strong number. I wasn't really given much choice in this, and I was tired of fighting, so I didn't interfere when they changed her birth certificate.

One thing worth noting: GW's enthusiasm about what was supposed to be a fortunate name says something about his wishes for his daughter to have a good life. And he used this amended name when he sent support checks for her, the only communication we had from him after he left home. I take this as the only way he had of expressing his hopes for Anna.

Did you know that Benedo is the latin/Italian word meaning blessing? GB looks italian to me, but who knows??
