Adding to the difficulty in this case: the sheer number of people that used to follow the tours, plus the very significant "regional" draw. There might be 50,000 people at the show, with tens of thousands more outside in the lot, filling practically every campground, motel, and hotel within an hour's drive, and overflowing into countless impromptu family campgrounds. The ticket stubs could be ones he picked up off the ground. The note could be a random unknown scrap of paper used only to wrap up something since discarded (I'd be interested in seeing how it was folded if it was folded).
I'm kind of new here, but will continue reading and will offer more constructive ideas if I come up with any.
