There is something that has bothered me I think more than just the mundane wrongness of this procedure today. It took me a bit to figure out what it was. With the help of a deep breath and a glass of wine it came to me. I was one of the first to post this, that Jussie was in a Chicago Court for...
I do have a distinct feeling that the internal (and external) investigations of the leaks from within the CPD found that a prosecution of JS was risky at best. Due to possible double jeopardy continuing could contradict a future Federal charge and case against him. I'm hoping that's the reason...
If the producers and network shut down the Empire cash cow to the economy of Chicago what would be the economic cost to Chicago? These productions pour a lot of "Hollywood" $ into the economy of the City. These days $ means Justice.

Disney now owns Fox Network. They have always kept a very wholesome squeaky clean posture. I will be interesting to see if this show will be renewed for a new season. They are currently No. 2 as a "scripted" show following 911. How apropos!

Don't they get it that "Community Service" for an actor is synopsis for "tax write off"? A valuation $ amount is placed on time spent (the same as on air time) and used to reduce taxable income. Not to mention "Good Will" for media and maintaining "relevance". Prior to this debacle had you asked...
CNN is just now reporting that Jussie Smollett is currently in a Chicago Courtroom for an "emergency Court hearing". I am wondering if it might have to do with Mark Gerragos getting caught up in that other Attorney's charges. Just Wondering. No link as yet as it is just now reported.

I will be surprised if she actually goes to trial. They are looking for a plea deal, I believe.

I believe this whole "bond hearing" motion has been just kicking an empty can down the road. Many of these motions and activities are on the checklist so that in the event of conviction a future defense attorney cannot claim ineffective counsel. Just as the Judge says, if she can afford bondsman...
Bond granted in Darnell Gray death case
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - The woman accused in the death of a Jefferson City 4-year-old was given a $100,000 cash-only bond Thursday.
"I'm making this a cash only bond," Judge Jon Beetem said Thursday. "I should note that if you are able to make that bond...
With today's news of a brand new medication for post-partem depression it reminded me of this case. I have absolutely NO DOUBT opinion that this woman suffered from post-partem depression, and went undiagnosed. Which is an even bigger tragedy in the fact that she was in a mental facility...
It is my understanding that Federal prosecutors are waiting to see what charges are after State and Local prosecutors get done and any deals are made. Any deals made locally do not dictate that Federal will follow suit. The MO Attorney General (at that time) ruled that State agencies could not...
Trials pushed back for two in DeBrodie case
FULTON, Mo. - Two people charged in the 2017 death of a Fulton man had their trials pushed back to a later date after a court hearing on Monday.
Sherry Paulo and Mary Paulo were accused in the death of Carl DeBrodie after his body was found encased...
Gambino murder sparks Mafia rumor mill: ‘A couple of guys got to get killed now’
Alite said that the fact that Cali was apparently alone and unguarded outside of his Staten Island home was an indication of how much the mob had changed. Gone are the days when regular violence necessitated...
I wonder what cemetery he will be buried in. When I visited a friend of mine who teaches on Staten Island I walked by a beautiful cemetery near the ocean. When I returned back to his place after the walk, I was telling him how beautiful it is and he told me that many "storied" mob family members...
Only a fool would hire / bribe someone to just "get them into" a college. There must have been some sort of tutoring involved as well (I would think). Why would someone pay all this money to get their kid in and they just flunk out from not being able to do the work thereafter?

I am wondering how many of these kids really could get into their respected colleges on their own without paying a bribe. How many of these parents sold their kid short thinking they weren't smart enough or good enough on their own and wanted a "guaranteed fix". Especially State funded colleges...
