Thank you for the details daisy - I just quoted a small part. I am intrigued by this
" Initially provokes the use of force against himself or herself, unless"
Both Dunn and Zimmerman provoked their unarmed victims - I don't know why there is an "unless" - nor why 2 juries could not see that...
If I was on they jury - I wouldn't say a word. Every juror has the right to remain silent - and they deserve that right. They would be subject to all sorts of attacks regardless as to what they might say in this situation.
Jurors are paid a pittance - unless their employers pay them - they...
We probably agree on many issues, maybe not on gun laws - I agree that crime in areas such as Scottsdale is low - probably why folks like to live there - but I don't think it relates to the existence or non-existence of gun laws.
Talking about differences is so much a better idea than Dunn's...
I hadn't read your post before I replied to another - you have explained so very well what I was trying to say - it is very different when you are with a group of 12 and if at all possible - have to agree on a verdict - than to tweet or comment that you would never change your mind.
If...
I just didn't like the correlation as stated with crime/gun laws. There are multiple reasons why crime in LA is much higher than crime in Scottsdale & I don't think gun ownership has much to do with anything in that regard.
The old saying about lies, damn lies and statistics comes to mind.
It is much easier to be a "hardliner" if you are outside a jury room. If the discussion was between M1 & M2 those wanting M1 would surely have preferred M2 than a hung jury & more days spent discussing same.
The questions on self defense on day 3 indicated to me that this was seen by at least...
It's worth it to every parent who has a son that could have been this boy. It makes NO sense to convict on attempted murder for the boys who lived and not convict on murder for the boy who died.
Knowing who was the jury foreperson - the jury questions make much more sense. If there was one or more on the jury arguing for self defense, they could well have attempted to push their idea/s that if one charge supported self defense, all charges supported self defense. Could also have been...
I think it more likely that an over-zealous juror was telling the others that ALL counts would be mistried - and one or more wanted the judge to confirm or deny.
The trial should not be about the jury - no matter how much the Judge wants to praise them - the defendant and the victim are the...
Not particularly - older men who seem to want to tell them how to behave(any race) - anywhere, anytime. Teenagers have their own views on what they think they should/should not do.
I see Dunn as deliberately parking next to them so he could tell them to turn down the music - enforcing his...
Agreed - Jordan deserves justice - he is the one who died - there was no justification for what happened to him - it is hard not to see this as racial hatred - open season on young black men. Tis little wonder that they act as they do towards men such as Dunn.

For this case throwing a deadly missile is "wantonly or maliciously shoot a firearm at or into a vehicle being used or occupied by a person.."
Cannot imagine a not...
I thought the 5 counts were
1 count murder
3 counts attempted murder
1 count firing into a vehicle
Does seem likely that the murder is the one in contention - doubt it's between 1&2 degree (surely they could agree to 2nd?) - more likely one or more think NG
but was one of the boys in the...
Exactly - my delightful 12 year old turned into a horror at the next birthday - recovered at about age 22. Being a teenager is not usually a death sentence.
I think this is the prosecution view as well - I just doubt a jury (should I say Florida jury?) will see it this way - which is why I doubt the murder 1. But I am often very wrong about what a jury will decide.
