I agree with your whole post but I have to say, after experiencing the kind of sudden and shocking loss that she did, this was a pretty understandable reaction just hours after the crime.
Well, those multiple witnesses were the people she was afraid of -- the john and her driver. Statistically speaking, men in these positions ARE very dangerous to a woman who is in prostitution. So I'm not willing to simply take their word on what happened that night.

Are there any other known stranger abductions of someone Jason's age and size? Even John Wayne Gacy had to use a ruse to control his victims. This makes me wonder if the unsub knew Jason, even tangentially. Enough that he might get into this person's car.

I suggest keeping this thread open because this is still a hot topic with, apparently, a lot of misinformation out there. People may come to WS looking for information about this phenomenon and I think it would help to have an active thread.

I heard on some podcast (probably True Crime Garage) that the Oak Hill Researchers spent eight hours a day on the Allenstown case. I've got nothing but respect for them.

I do think that LE could have solved this case by "brute force," i.e., talking to every former student who had a record or was rumored to be sociopathic or whatever. They could have found BD that way.

I read this as her vaguely threatening suicide and, while she was at it, making other vague threats as well to make it sound scarier. But that was just my take.

Around the time of this crime, many locals went online to express confusion about the DNA, especially because the suspect has an adult son around the age where it is more common to commit this kind of apparently impulsive crime. But I don't think there's ever been much real dispute about who...
Whether it's an increase or not, the number of girls currently missing is unacceptable. And if it's always been like this, then we have a colossal problem on our hands.

Really, anyone doing a full-on Jonbenet podcast needs deep pockets because they're probably going to get sued. A case like Tara's was probably perfect because it needed some stirring up.
I enjoyed her bit, too. But why do you guys think she and Payne were so certain that there was no relationship between Tara and/or RD/BD?
