Someone who wants to run away probably wouldn't go work out first. That just seems really odd. Yes someone who wants to run away might not cancel a work meeting, because doing so might raise red flags to other people, but a workout is totally voluntary. I could see him claiming he was going to...
I would guess that the large amount of chlorine was to clean the bobcat if he used it to move her body. He would have been concerned that trace evidence might have ended up on his hands and then transferred to the cab. Of course he would have been worried that the area that held her body would...
Suzanne put $500,000 into it, money that should be going to her daughters. It's sickening to think that he's going to have megabucks for a defense fund. I recently inherited more than that amount of money, and I made it very clear to my husband that the money is being put in a trust for our...
This reminds me of the Elisa Lamam case. For years, we were told that Lisa had been acting strange and her roommates had complained, but we had no other details. Finally, this year, due to the Netflix film, we know that she was writing odd notes to them, locking them out of the room etc. Knowing...
This is one of those cases that drives me crazy! So many mysteries and no answers after two years. WHAT was the motive. HOW did he get her to go home for lunch. HOW did he get into her apartment. WHY did he think he could get away with this on his lunch hour? WHY would a professional...
I believe that one of the rules of this forum is not to police the thread or dictate to other posters what they should or should not be discussing. You can notify a mod if someone's comment is inappropriate or violates TOS. :-)
In my opinion, this is the biggest break in the case, by far. An individual who goes to a lot of trouble to try to point the finger at somebody else should always be looked at carefully.
If the post is here on websleuths, why can't we reference it? The landlady was allowed to make unsubstantiated posts because she was close to the case. We are just commenting on those posts, because they are suspicious.
I didn't get the impression that people were saying that Stephen was a drug addict. But the fact is that his landlord sold drugs and committed other times and his roommate also was involved in drug dealing. Then we find that the landlord's wife was posting numerous post on Websleuths early on...
Wes was truly scary and threatening in the threads (which certainly didn't work in his favor in terms of lessening suspicion!). He even made the journalist working on this case feel threatened. He accused her FATHER of killing her, didn't he? Yet he wasn't a "lowlife" in terms of his position in...
I wonder how big this duffel bag was, and what was in it. For example, if Lane decided that he wanted to pack up his belongings because they were breaking up that would be good to know. If he didn't want a big scene, he might have waited until she left to pack up his things. She might not even...
I grew up in Chicago and live in SC and enjoy Murrell's Inlet/Myrtle Beach, so I'm invested. Plus Lane has such a nice face and seems so well-liked--all around smart, great guy!
Could he have simply taken his girlfriend's car to his house to drop off his bags? Maybe she lives relatively close...
This makes a LOT of sense if he was supposed to meet someone at the park (a common meeting place for people looking to do certain things) then follow them somewhere. If this was secretive activity, I could see someone saying, "look for the blue ____" and follow me to somewhere more private."...
Maybe he pulled over to get out of the main town and smoke. Sometimes, you look for "the perfect spot" and it takes a while and you keep driving and looking. It was SUCH a creepy road (to me), and I could see myself saying, "nope, nope, nope" to any driveways or nooks and crannies. This might...
Sadly, it's probably not practical or cost effective, especially in a small town, to treat every abandoned car as a possible crime scene or missing person, especially in the middle of the night. Imagine if that were the protocol for every single abandoned vehicle--call out dogs and other cops...

I totally agree that this was an interesting moment. The body language was very telling. Kent was obviously uncomfortable with the question, and the words that follow it don't make a lot of sense and go on and on. Why is that? The Landry's seem like the type of parents who wouldn't want...
I watched Jason's father speak yesterday in a great interview with John Lordan. John asked about the fact that the son didn't say he was coming home that particular day. Kent seemed uncomfortable with this question. That IS an odd thing to do. Jason was only 1/4 of the way home with only a few...
So maybe this was extra incentive to leave the main road and go on a country road. This way he could open the door and lean against his car while he smoked and not worry about the cops seeing him as he drove. Just a theory.
Did he leave the main road simply to smoke a blunt? Is it legal? If not, maybe he was worried about a passing cop seeing a huge, glowing blunt in his hands as he drove.
Also, I was SO impressed by the sherrif's statement and photos! I wish we would see this kind of transparency more often. It's...
