Feds probably could file charges if related crimes were committed in different states. But generally it is left up to the states to try and punish their own killers.
It certainly depends on the judge granting the warrant, but all this time CD wasn’t charged with anything, even if his behavior was highly suspicious. There was no evidence to present that he was involved with the children’s disappearance, and he was not their legal guardian.
Now that the dead...
I guess I am wondering what the Daybell kids knew and when. It makes no sense the kids knew her if the story about one of the boys saying his father “met a widow on a business trip in Hawaii and married her.” I wish they would/could speak. But realize that won’t happen before the trial and their...

I have been researching and am convinced they all died from cyanide poisoning, which can cause pulmonary edema and also fades away after a few hours, hard to detect. But - looking into it now - there seems to be a fairly new test to detect cyanide exposure. So we shall see. (Sorry if too much...
LE has to have a specific thing they are looking for to get a warrant. They can’t just go on a fishing expedition, “We want to look through this guy’s phone to see what might be on there.” Not allowed.
I don’t know. IIRC this was a friend of one of CD’s kids and the Daybell son brought up his father’s new marriage unprompted.
What in the world would CD have said to his kids to get them to have cookies with Lori directly after their mom’s surprise funeral?
And what would they then think when...
I think...I THINK she might have been referring to “trolls” that are probably being quite aggressive online. I guess when I look at my own family, I couldn’t even imagine one of my nieces or nephews being killed by their parent. I would have not believed it until the bitter end, I don’t think...
I think it was more to justify why Tylee wasn’t active on her phone or social media. Lori says, “Oh, yeah no snaps from Tylee, I took her phone away...” Lori just left out the part about, “...after she was dead.”
Investigators have to specify exactly what they are looking for and justify why. They can’t just go on a “fishing expedition” like, “We wanna go through this guy’s phone - just to see what might be there.”
But if Chad told his children he met a widow in Hawaii and married her, how could Lori serve Chad’s kids cookies right after TD’s funeral???
And why would you drive 4 hours after your mom’s funeral to meet - some chick your dad knows?
Did I miss something in the timeline?
I’m sure it took some time for MG to sort out exactly what she was dealing with - s missing child, a police investigation, and requests to involve her in deception. But probably the best thing would have been for her to contact the police herself immediately after Chad called.
I read somewhere that CD wanted to quit the publishing business for a while, but TD was the one who wanted hime to continue. I think it was she-who-shall-not-be-named, who also “predicted” TD’s death, who was talking with CD who said he was going to quit as soon as TD hurried up and died.
But...

Would the time of his outburst coincide with when all the people turn towards the incident. I just assumed they were reacting to SA screaming “I dropped my baby!”
