Possibly already answered, due to the speed of the thread, but someone tested last week and old “likes” appear as if they’re new when an item listing that someone has previously “liked” gets updated.
If he left his phone in the van for Gabby’s potential final hike, it would look like that, so I don’t think that situation would necessarily exonerate him! Well, I’d hope not anyway…
I’m not making judgment on whether breaking the speed limit was justified in that case or any other. I was just reminding that driving distances on map/GPS apps and sites are always calculated using legal speeds, so, across a 2,000 mile drive, could differ fairly substantially from the time...

If he doesn’t have the phone he had on the trip with him (as seen in the bodycam vid,) I imagine he could well have got a burner phone to keep up on news of the search for him.
One plausible reason would be because he knows that her body can be found exactly where he last saw her. Lying about where he saw her would definitely be a crime if he was found out, and he doesn’t know at which point, both timewise and geographically, that CCTV/dashcams and other evidence would...
There’s not enough room to sleep in the back of the van, the way they have it set up, IMO, and their one Youtube video shows that they sleep in the tent at least some, if not all, of the time.
I think, when his original plan may have been to leave the van there, make it look like Gabby had a tragic barefoot hiking accident after they “broke up”, and make his own way back to Florida, he would have left the body exposed.
However, I think he panicked, realised he’d told the Tiktoker too...
Could he have gone a day’s hike into the reserve, to dump his phone near a gator area or something, then a day’s hike back and away to hiding? Would certainly help you to get away with something like that if your parents made sure your car wasn’t at the car park overnight while you were hiking...
Unless a whole lot/all of the other items were also missing from the van when it was seized.
If the van had been emptied, LE may have decided, alongside other evidence they know, that it’s unlikely that the tent is in Wyoming and is counter-productive to have some of people’s focus on something...
Perhaps the plan, before things got out of their control, was going to be “Well, the van turned up on the driveway one day but we haven’t seen either of them since…”
Can you have a “saved draft” of a post on any versions? I just tried iOS and you can’t, but know sometimes desktop/browser functionality of SocMed platforms offer more options etc.
I think either he knew that the Jackson Hole is covered by dozens of cams streaming to Youtube 24/7, including some really clear ones in the city centre, or the Tiktoker is second guessing what spooked Brian and it was something else that happened around that point of the journey, like him...
