Well, if you have a gun- you would also probably think- what would this obviously erratic person do with my gun if they get hold of it- besides just killing me.
Still reading/catching up. If another parent was there- that would eliminate the only protection of the child thoughts I had. Sometimes I think police officers/people with guns panic when someone is coming at them/in the act of overpowering them because they fear the gun will be taken from them...
As a broken record- IF the person continued toward him it would have been justifiable to shoot him because the child was with only that parent, and if overpowered/incapacitated, what would happen to the child (in the mind of the parent).
Well, from what you are saying- it would be hard to detangle at this point. Is the killer/shooter telling the truth? Were there any words spoken first? Actually, the baby being with him/her is the only reason I could think of to shoot- and then, as others say- how did others get shot- maybe in...
I've never carried a gun into stores- and have had people bump into me, shove me out of line to get in front , etc. So, I will read the articles and see what I think- if the shooter was shoved down or bumped into.

I will answer when I have read more. That one point just caught my attention. If you are alone with your child, you are their defense. If someone is randomly attacking you out of no where, you must assume they most likely mean your child harm also or that they intend to take your...
I'm coming in the thread "cold"- not having read specifics yet, but if I was in a store with my baby and someone hit me- I would automatically assume my child's safety was in danger as well, especially if I thought I might pass out/be over powered. Too many children are kidnapped. I will now...
I agree. At first I thought they now probably had a good idea of who it was and specifically drew a sketch to look like that person in order to perhaps "smoke him out" or to have people who knew him confirm certain things/give them more evidence in order to build a stronger case. When I found...
I don't understand why both were not released and just said to be persons of interest seen/described by different witnesses in the area at the time of the murders.
So I guess if you are caught with a small amount of drugs, shoplift, write hot checks, etc., you will get away with it in Chicago because it's not big enough to pursue? Do they not have traffic tickets anymore either?
#2 makes no sense to me. To forfeit money and do community service is "punishment" so he would need to plead guilty to something, wouldn't he? To drop charges would mean to "walk free" because some procedure had been breached or new developments that made the initial charges invalid. Also, they...
Prosecutor's statement- "After reviewing all of the facts and circumstances of the case, including Mr. Smollett’s volunteer service in the community and agreement to forfeit his bond to the City of Chicago, we believe this outcome is a just disposition and appropriate resolution to this case."...
It doesn't sound legally legit to me. Charges were already brought with no resolution (?) and keeping his bond and taking past community service into consideration seems like an option that would be afforded by a judge's final decision/sign off after a plea deal- but some guilt would have to be...
