Did anyone else see the three teens other than the driver?? Were they identified?

This is probably far out so apologies in advance if this offends anyone. Someone posted that the Biffa bin looks too small for someone to sleep in. What if C needed the toilet (no 2), there wouldn't have been any toilets open at that time were there? After eating all the food, drinking and...

Thanks Amonet - fingers crossed my daughter doesn't write about our experiment at school tomorrow!! Knowing here she probably will, I can see it now "mum put me in the bin"

There are two ways to get to the HS in a vehicle in a lorry, by Short Brackland or by Brentgovel Street (pedestrians but lorries can access for loading/unloading). Looking at the street view on google maps, if the lorry came down Short Brackland he would have had to turn left head first into...

That's right, he would not have had time to react if he was sleeping. The lorry could have reversed right up and the bin might not have needed moving much at all. Do we know if there has been any official statement to confirm the lorry was actually in the HS for 30mins other than the article in...

That's right, the metal would have been different but did they not say the bin had averaged around 11kgs in the previous weeks? That made me wonder if the driver was not only new to the route but possibly new to the actual job in which case he wouldn't be familiar with what is considered a...

If C had wakened up while the driver was moving the bin, if the driver had earphones in he wouldn't have heard him.

Earlier tonight I took our two paper recycling household bins side by side. One was about a 1/4 full with only paper and cardboard and the other one was empty. I asked my daughter who is 11yrs old and weighs 39kgs if she would help me carry out an experiment by climbing into the bin. She...

Yes you are right but the lorry could have been an electric vehicle lol

The Road Vehicle (Construction and Use) Regulations re horns and warning instruments (reversing alarms used on buses, lorries and refuse trucks) must not be used on a restricted road between the hours of 2330 and 0700. Section 82(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulations 1984 defines a restricted...

Good post. That's right, if he was in the HS for 30-40 mins before the lorry arrived then it does make sense that he wasn't seen because he was in the bin before the lorry got there. I think if he was in the bin before the lorry arrived then I think he got into the bin himself. I did wonder if...

I agree, if a tragic accident happened involving the lorry the most sensible thing a driver could do is to call for help as honesty is the best policy but if the driver panicked, he could have been unwilling to call someone for a number of reasons. I'm not sure if he was a new driver but I don't...

I wonder if C might have been sitting with his back against the bin, possibly at the other side of it - lorries have blind spots, even more so when reversing early morning when it is still quite dark. On the other hand he had already sat in a doorway so it doesn't sound like he would have been...

I agree, I wonder how accurate the 30 minutes is. I recall it was 20 before so do we even know if this is right. I honestly don't think it would need 30 minutes so if this timeline is accurate then I think this raises suspicion. Has UT issued any public comments recently, apologies if he has and...

I was surprised by his conclusion as well. I think he either got in the bin voluntarily - sleepy, drunk and wanted to fill in a few hours till morning, he possibly did intend to walk home but after falling asleep in the doorway it is possible that he woke up and changed his mind to drive home...

There is an article in the Sun today by a former detective. It says that the bin lorry was in the HS for 30mins. At the bottom of the article there are comments by the public, one of which says that when they get there bin emptied (commercial) it takes no time at all and they don't believe the...

In one of the first updates I thought N said there four vehicles, three of which had good reason to be in the HS but one of them did not.

If the bin lorry collected the bin shortly after 4am, why did the phone last ping at 8am? When the lorry left the HS, did it go right to the landfill and was it a new driver on that morning?

If SP have been rechecking all of the data and found out that the weight of the bin was not accurate re 11kgs, was the private company that was brought in not supposed to specialise in data - did they play any part in finding out the bin weight was wrong?
