Found Deceased PA - Linda Stoltzfoos, 18, Bird-in-Hand, Lancaster County, 21 June 2020 *kidnapping arrest* #3

According to breaking news in the Lancaster newspaper, Justo was sending “multimedia messages” to his brother Victor in the hours after Linda was taken. Ugh. Man charged with Linda Stoltzfoos' kidnapping repeatedly texted brother after her disappearance: search warrant

Found Deceased PA - Linda Stoltzfoos, 18, Bird-in-Hand, Lancaster County, 21 June 2020 *kidnapping arrest* #3

According to the newest message on the Amish hotline, there will be a search this Wednesday. More will follow if nothing is found, the message said. I’m assuming it’s more looking in the Welsh Mountain area, but it didn’t specify.

Found Deceased PA - Linda Stoltzfoos, 18, Bird-in-Hand, Lancaster County, 21 June 2020 *kidnapping arrest* #3

@Hatfield, I have the same thoughts/hopes about the hunters. No doubt many hunting in eastern Lancaster County will be on the lookout for anything possibly related to this case as they hunt. No matter how well a wooded area is intentionally searched, it seems there are potential hiding places...

Found Deceased PA - Linda Stoltzfoos, 18, Bird-in-Hand, Lancaster County, 21 June 2020 *kidnapping arrest* #3

I wonder if that area is open for hunting. Seems like a few PA hunters make grim discoveries each year when they leave the trails to find what they shot.

Found Deceased PA - Linda Stoltzfoos, 18, Bird-in-Hand, Lancaster County, 21 June 2020 *kidnapping arrest* #3

Nobody seems to know. The Amish hotline said there was to be a search today. I only checked the local EMS list this afternoon and didn’t see anything. Perhaps it was over by the time I looked, or maybe it was an informal search without police/fire involvement. It’s hot, so they probably would...

Found Deceased PA - Linda Stoltzfoos, 18, Bird-in-Hand, Lancaster County, 21 June 2020 *kidnapping arrest* #3

I agree that disposing of such small items could be done a lot more efficiently and less riskily by just tossing them in some trash can somewhere. With regard to the poster pic of Linda in English clothes, it came out before the kidnapping idea was discovered to be accurate. So to cover most...

Found Deceased PA - Linda Stoltzfoos, 18, Bird-in-Hand, Lancaster County, 21 June 2020 *kidnapping arrest* #3

I think they found one, and it had been cut. It was also very small IIRC.

@Jillian2020, you make excellent points about how it must have looked to the Amish who saw Linda in the car. And if she were leaving the Amish, she’d have changed her look fast with different hair and English clothes she would have arranged to have along. They wouldn’t have been driving around...

Here’s a new article with some good info. He was cleaning his car 6/21 at 3pm? Prosecutors release new details of Linda Stoltzfoos' abduction; investigators still looking for tips

My sense is that, after his adoption, he grew up like most other middle-class church-going kids around here. Living to age 7 as a street kid in a developing country, however, certainly would have had an impact on him.

I’m no lawyer, but I think ambushing and abducting someone who six weeks later has not returned to her normal life sounds like terrorizing to me.

There are Plain Mennonites, that are sometimes confused with Amish. Then there are Mennonites who share similar Anabaptist beliefs with the Amish and Plain Mennonites but do not dress differently or eschew modern conveniences. (I am one of the latter.). Amish have their own schools, plain...

The zip tie is an interesting piece of evidence. I know investigators have used manufacturing info, store inventory records, and purchase information to track trash bags into the possession of a murder suspect, so I’m thinking zip ties could be handled the same way. I’d love if Linda were...

Found Deceased PA - Linda Stoltzfoos, 18, Bird-in-Hand, Lancaster County, 21 June 2020 *kidnapping arrest* #3

I’m still not losing hope that Linda’s body will be found, ideally along with important evidence. When the seasons change here, fields are harvested, foliage loses its leaves, and hunters and hikers take to the woods. With all the publicity surrounding her disappearance, the possibility of...

Found Deceased PA - Linda Stoltzfoos, 18, Bird-in-Hand, Lancaster County, 21 June 2020 *kidnapping arrest* #3

The Amish hotline recorded message this week mentioned that the Stoltzfoos family is trying to get back to a normal routine. The last post ( not video) on that Missing page mentions that there won’t be more organized searches at this time, thanks people for their support, and gives the address...

The corn wasn’t very high when LS disappeared, IIRC, and I think they searched rather thoroughly with drones and dogs. I’d bet most farmers in the area did a quick check of their fields before they got too dense. I heard a mention that searchers recently went through some cornfields and got all...

Torbs, it is a strange place, isn’t it? When I drove by, which actually was driving though the parking lot like a dope, I saw a line of bikes outside, indicating to me that a lot of the workers are Old Order Mennonite. Maybe when the bikes were gone, he thought it was safe to lurk about. He may...

I agree that this was probably something he’d thought about doing and then he acted when the opportunity presented itself. I wonder if a specifically Amish victim was part of the plan. His previous robbery crimes were largely businesses owned and staffed by Plain people. Coincidental, just...

Deceased/Not Found PA - King Hill, 2, stepfather said King was with babysitter, Philadelphia, 7 Jul 2020 *arrest*

I keep wondering about the financials of this case, because it’s hard for me to imagine someone other than a grandparent babysitting 24/7 for weeks at a time with no form of compensation. Little kids are expensive (diapers, clothes) and time-consuming (potty-treaining, teaching them how to feed...

Found Safe PA - Lily Colancecco, 33 - Summit Hill, Carbon County - 26 July 2020

The article I last posted contains an excerpt from a Facebook post from the missing woman’s husband. Newer posts on his Facebook indicate there’s a report that she has been seen and *breaking news* he has a live video saying she is located and safe!!
