I agree. This is a key point. LE specifically states that they don’t know how, when or where he died.
So IF they have cell phone video that truly confirms he is dead MOO: it is either of his corpse or TP talking about him being dead or showing/ discussing manner of disposal (though not sufficient to identify location of disposal).

"We don't right now have the mechanism of King Hill's death, we don't know the date of his death, and we don't know the location of his death, nor do we know where Ms. Parks disposed of his body, but we know based on the evidence that we have that he was in fact killed by Ms. Parks," said Anthony Voci Jr., chief of the DA's homicide unit.
Babysitter charged with murder in death of 2-year-old King Hill

It could be video of TP disposing of something in a dumpster that looks like it could be King. If that were the case, it would explain the family saying they may never find him. IMOO

So mom didn’t have as much custody as the stepfather? I’m so confused about the family dynamic. Did stepfather have any legal right to child? I’m just trying to figure out the family dynamics and I’m getting lost in the process

I feel like it was one of those things where no actual legal documents was involved but more like a trust thing. My own opinion, the mom did not have much recent pics of her and King together, his uncle seems to have more. I think that goes with the story that the stepdad had him most of the time.

I just find it really strange that King's family did not know TP at all. Like why didn't the stepdad even mention that he has someone watching King from time to time?

In my experience, what you see on social media about relationships/children/etc, are often not true. It is what a person wants others to believe of a less than stellar situation. Mommies posting loving messages about kids and hubby and all the while they are resentful, neglectful, and sometimes being abused by the husband they "adore".

Absolutely. Couples who do OTT expressions of love and affection often masking something very different, or using it as passive-aggressive demonstrative acts for one reason or another.

TP talks a lot about TP. Self-indulgent, seeking validation, or just narcissism? I have no idea, but when King appeared in that video he was there as a prop. Are other people all just props in TP’s story?

Why would she incriminate herself by taking a video that would indicate she murdered King?

EDIT: I am trying to understand the mind of someone who clearly does not make best judgement, Might be a useless question to ask.

Might have happened when filming something that wasn’t intended to result in harm or death. Might have been an emotional confession video. Might have been high as a kite and took pics or video intending to send to someone else. Could have been deleted and later retrieved from phone. Could have been messages to someone else either during or in aftermath. Loads of things, I guess. Like you say, applying normal or reasonable expectations of behaviour might not work well here... sadly.

I had thought maybe the cell phone video making it obvious that KH was dead may have been something she sent to someone else to ask for help or to ask what to do.

You’d think if there was a pure accident and a child died in your custody, you’d call 911 and get the details sorted out later. So it seems safe to say that TP felt a coverup was necessary.

Having now finally seen the whole press briefing following TP arrest I’m not quite sure if I have a better inkling about the phone stuff or not.

What did come across loud and clear is that phone data of various types was crucial in dismantling her lies and that it completely blew apart every aspect of her story. They seemed genuinely (& quite humanly!) irritated by her relentless attempts to misdirect and hide the truth from them. No wonder. Sounds like it was all just ridiculous bull.

On a separate note it was both surprising and also really encouraging to hear about all the specialist units immediately allocated to investigate King’s disappearance.

She may have sent the video to the stepfather to say "look what you made me do" after he informed her that KH had to go back to his mother in a couple of weeks. JMO

But when would she have done that? He reported him missing when he found out neither had King.Plus she was trying to divert blame to the mom. If she had send him the video then she would have been arrested much sooner She seemed like she wanted to get away with the crime. JMO

Haven't figured that out yet, ;)

The step dad had no legal responsibility that we are aware of. Not sure why he would have taken King anyway unless the mom had no one else. I'm on the mom for this one, sorry. MOO
I cut her some slack because Mom was caring for a 10 yr old , allegedly with severe autism. So she may have been overwhelmed trying to raise a toddler at the same time. She may have been thinking it was better for him to be with someone who could give him more attention at the time.
MOO

I think she's 7, not 10.

...and it seems like her mom is taking care of the daughter Also like someone here stated who has a child with autism it's not a reason not to check on your other child I understand if she was overwhelmed taking care of both fulltime but there is no excuse not to check on a baby in over two weeks

I keep wondering about the financials of this case, because it’s hard for me to imagine someone other than a grandparent babysitting 24/7 for weeks at a time with no form of compensation. Little kids are expensive (diapers, clothes) and time-consuming (potty-treaining, teaching them how to feed themselves, etc).

Who was getting paid in this arrangement, and how? Was anyone receiving child support or public assistance for King’s care? I also wonder what would happen if King had needed emergency medical care—wouldn’t his legal guardian have been contacted after initial care was rendered? It just seems like such a tenuous situation.

Regular doctor visits? So many questions.
