    Trial Discussion weekend Thread #24

The screaming got louder....what part of the house do the Stipps face? Do you think Reeva opened the bathroom window to scream out the window?

Are you thinking these two would have helped Oscar dispose of her body? Was Oscar the one who called them to the scene? To do what? Why isn't he calling police, security, and ambulance?

Is the doctor the only one who called security to the scene? If he hadn't called security, no one would have shown up?

Towels make sense, but plastic bags make no sense to me. Someone on here said they did make sense, but didn't say how.

Because the doctor declared Reeva dead, no pulse, no respiration, cloudy eyes, but, worse than that, when he described her jaw clenched on OP's fingers, he was describing rigor mortis. It takes a little bit of time for that, she had been dead for a while. What time was it when the doctor...

But, let's say he didn't think it was working. Is that any reason not to at least push the panic button before heading towards the bathroom?

This is really interesting and a possible motive for shooting her through the door-- to stop her from calling police. Hadn't he already had one run in with police over domestic violence? I'm not sure about that but I think so.

I think this is maybe another point solidly against him because if she had her phone [and it was found in the bathroom] and he was shouting about intruders, wouldn't she automatically call the police? I would think so. But, maybe people aren't so quick to call police for help there.

I think Roux really failed his client, writing all that detail down in bail and other pleadings that the Prosecutor could then get his hands on.

Well, but, LED or no, that room would have been pitch black when he closed the curtains. The other thing that happens is it takes several minutes for your eyes to adjust. I do believe he could have walked right past Reeva and not seen her. Or not seen she wasn't in the bed. That is very...

This prosecutor is so good, that poor Oscar doesn't have a chance. He doesn't see it coming. Prosecutor: "There, you've done it again, Mr. Pistorius. You have changed your version." "It's all about you, Mr. Pistorius." "You won't take responsibility for anything, Mr. Pistorius." Oscar is...

I missed the witness testimony. Did witnesses say the part of the bathroom where the tub was had a light on? Are you thinking Reeva did not take her phone into the bathroom? What was her last use of it? Reeva either was hiding there from him or just using the bathroom. Is there a third...

Yeah, you just can't predict what someone would do. Do I really think it happened the way he said? No. But, I can't prove it. The only possibility I've seen so far that might work towards guilt--I think she was dressed in street clothes, and the contents of her stomach showing she ate...

For sure. I doubt she would want to have to deal with the fans, computers, extension cords, and clothes in the dark. And, she might have decided to grab the chance while he was up and she could exit through his side of the bed. Assuming anything made sense in this case, that is.

    Trial Discussion Thread #23 - 14.04.11, Day 21

This prosecutor is very good, and I think this was his best day so far, as he stood looking at the door and said that Reeva was standing there, facing OP, 3 feet away, talking to him through the door. I could picture that. He would have had a jury eating out of his hands. However, none of...

There was still some light from the balcony light until he closed the shades. Once he closed the shades it was pitch black. We were wondering last night why they didn't just turn on a light since they were both up.

Another thing I'm surprised he didn't do is push the security system's panic button. They come real fast when you push that [which I've done by mistake making my bed]. :)

    S. Africa sounds like a nightmare place to live. It's not safe even inside a gated community, you have to bribe the cops, the cops will help themselves to what they want if you allow them in your house, you must do everything possible to preserve the life of an intruder bent on your...

haha....That's the definition of an honest cop in S. Africa? They won't let you overbribe them? :floorlaugh:
