GA - Suspicion over heat death of Cooper, 22 mo., Cobb County, June 2014, #2

I have to say that with all the true crime tv I watch, it's amazing how often criminals would have gotten away with things if not for seemingly stupid things like this.

GA - Suspicion over heat death of Cooper, 22 mo., Cobb County, June 2014, #2

You know, my husband and I had this conversation last night, and he pointed out that manslaughter comes with jail time. So someone accidentally killing a pedestrian or something like that, still gets convicted. So why wouldn't a true accident that ends with the death of a child come with a...

He's a named suspect by the police. Many of us understand that these types of accidents can happen but there are too many IMO, red flags in what happened to jus assume it was an accident

Not to belabor the point too much more, but crimes of opportunity are crimes without premeditation. They don't have to leave or wait and formulate the plan, they just act. Eg someone sees something valuable in a car and breaks in to get it - the whole point is that there is not a plan but the...

People weigh different aspects of the case differently, and sadly, we'll never know what details are important until a case is solved. You may be right, you may be wrong, but to say that the only logical interpretation of the book is suicide is IMO insulting. There are multiple logical...

Crimes of opportunity are very common, black bears coming out of the woods to snatch people up, are not.

But it could just be a crime of opportunity, which is what happened IMO

! That's not true. Most applications - even government - ask about convictions of felonies, and rarer, convictions of misdemeanors. Now being accused of something while currently employed, could most certainly get you fired. Most if not all states are at will employers

The thing is, what evidence would someone expect if she met with foul play by someone picking her up/her grabbing a ride with a stranger? I can't think of any evidence that would suggest that so a lack of evidence doesn't mean anything.

    s. Actually most rapes are by someone the victim knows, stranger rape is less common. See for example http://www.rainn.org/get-information/statistics/sexual-assault-offenders

Has the case fizzled a bit?

True, this case is too contraversial. Just watching the show, though, gave me a bit of hope, especially with the new publicity the case has gotten the past year

Has the case fizzled a bit?

Has anyone seen the TNT show Cold Justice? They go to small towns, revisit cold cases. Tonight they had a case where it turned out the GJ indicted who they suspected 30 years ago when the murder first happened. Has any one thought about submitting JB's case? You have to have some connection to...

    Christmas Day Significance

Thanks UKGuy for the info. I started reading the "Coincidences" thread and the McReynolds family seems too suspicious (their daughter getting kidnapped and forced to watch another girl get sexually molested on Dec 26 in the 70s, the wife writing a play re a girl being murdered and placed in a...

    Christmas Day Significance

I agree. I'm reading PTPM (only started reading all of these threads about a month ago) and something struck me - JB told a teacher (or a friend's mother) that Santa said he was going to have an extra special visit for her, after Christmas. The person she told was initially confused - asking JB...
