    TX - Jonathan Foster, 12, Houston, 24 Dec 2010 - Mona Nelson charged with Murder - #6

I don't have access to the site now, but I would not be surprised. People have varied faces they show the world. Whatever went down may have been 'just business' to her. And the part she played may have been that of the 'strongarm' or the 'enforcer', to which this would be just another 'job'...

    TX - Jonathan Foster, 12, Houston, 24 Dec 2010 - Mona Nelson charged with Murder - #6

I would not be surprised, when and if it all comes out, that she was there as an 'Enforcer' to let mom know that it was pay up or else. And sadly, it turned out to be 'or else'.

JMO.. I work as a counselor, some of the clients I work with have addiction issues. To truly be 'in recovery' means to live a healthy life of recovery. It means you avoide people, places and things that might lead you back to 'temptation'. It means you take an active role in avoiding anything...

    TX - Jonathan Foster, 12, Houston, 24 Dec 2010 - Mona Nelson charged with Murder - #6

There is something odd about this. I wonder if Mona who is the 'suspect' is, in fact, the 'hitman/woman' for someone. Perhaps Mom owed money to a loanshark or 'dealer' and this was a 'hit' of sorts. Its brutal and terrible, but it would explain why the boy was asked if Angela was his mother...

I heard last night the body they found was 3 feet tall and a few inches. That would be pretty small for a 12 year old, wouldn't it?

I wonder if the neighbors noticed anything? I mean, if this boy went outside, would someone have seen him around? I wonder what his relationship was to his mom and his step father. I hope it turns out that they didn't have anything to do with it. I am so distressed by parents who destroy...

GUILTY IN - Jezaih King, 2, Fort Wayne, November 2009

Mom sounds truly mentally ill. I would bet she had a diagnosis somewhere, and was not taking medication. People who can't take care of themselves can't take care of children, either.

    The Zahra Project

I think this might be a nice idea in theory, but don't see it as 'real'. The reason I don't is that there are so many shades of grey that aren't addressed. And bashing DSS isn't the answer. If DSS did or did not do something, the public won't know, because it's files are confidential. I...

If I was a Foster parent, and the child I had in my care went missing, I'd look around for him, call building security, call the agency i worked with, and then call the police, not sure in which order. Kids do wander off. I can't count the number of kids who get seperated from adults in...

I believe that polygraphs aren't always effective. I also wonder if perhaps if she didn't do it, if a relative or friend did. I believe that a child alone would have generated attention at night. I believe really that this child would not have willingly gone away with anyone unless he knew...

OK OK - Jamison Family; Truck, IDs, money, & dog found abandoned, Oct 2009 - #7

I doubt this would be a WPP case. WPP wouldn't leave a pet behind, abandoned. They usually make people 'dissapear' but they would tie up the strings.

There is usually an effort to place children with family, unless the family has prior ACS cases or there is reason not to, such as inadaquate living arrangements or someone is too ill to take care of a child or doesn't want to. I still wonder if it wouldn't be possible for the mother to know...

Usually children aren't removed unless there are other circumstances. Preventative services are put in place....a SW or CM would visit her her weekly and make sure she was getting help, and that the kids were ok. There is more to her story. I bet there was unstable or unsafe living...

Hoping the family will have some answers, and Britanee will be found before the New Year!

While it's true that at times children may be removed prematurely, when other services could have prevented this, I believe it's due to the cases where children weren't removed and a tragedy happens that now prompts Child Protective services to step in and remove children faster. Foster...

A word here, folks, in general, to the defense of foster parents: For every FP you hear of that is abusive, neglectful, doesn't care, etc, there is one who cares deeply. FP in this state aren't paid all that well. Most of the FP I know do this work because they care about children, and...

Agreed! Sadly, there are case that do need more, and CPS gets blamed if they don't do more and something happens....in this state, I will say that they do mostly try and put in preventative services first. But it all depends on the worker. I beleive in many cases children do better remaining in...

Sigh. I work with folks like this every day. I feel sorry for the mom. She is a person who is living a life that is not one that's easy, or one most people know about. Imagine waking up every day in an apartment surrounded by gunshots outside. Imagine you make sure you get home every day...

GUILTY AL - Natalie, 5, & Jonathan DeBlase, 3, beaten, poisoned, Mobile, 1 March 2010

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. My husband was a parent at 17. But times were different then. He had a supportive family, he had a job and was starting his own business as a contractor. He always looked and acted older than he was. He had been working since he was 16, and had a home of his...

Sorry guys, but this is not so easy. My husband was married before. His soon to be ex at that time took their child, only a year at that time and ran. My husband and his family did their best to try to find her, but back in those days there wasn't much done by LE on this sort of thing. It was...
