I wonder if the neighbors noticed anything? I mean, if this boy went outside, would someone have seen him around? I wonder what his relationship was to his mom and his step father.

I hope it turns out that they didn't have anything to do with it. I am so distressed by parents who destroy their children-it makes no sense. I hope this boy is found safe and sound.

This was put up before the body was found... or at least before it was reported that it was found. If you go back in the thread you will find posts about it there. I know it's been "updated" recently but I don't see any changes to it.

But the article is very recent -

This article was posted HERE at 9:43am CST. The bottom of the page post #399

http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123646&page=16

We discussed the above article before we discussed the body being found.

The above article was updated recently but was originally written early this morning, as we discussed it here. (I believe in fact you were part of the discussion at some point?)

The time of the "update" is not the time the article is originally written. It is the time it has most recently been edited. This article was definitely written long before the 1:14pm "update" time since we were discussing it at 9:43am.

I see no changes to the article, aside from adding the second picture of Jonathan. I am guessing that was the "update."

I hope that clarifies.

Jonathan just turned 12 last month. It's been reported he has ADD and easily gets confused. I can see why he would need a sitter. Grandmother lives on the other side of Houston so probably more than an hour away.

He WAS at Grandma's a few days prior to Christmas. Grandma works, too though. Everyone keeps mentioning Jonathan's ADD like he is mentally challenged or something - he is a normal 12 year old boy, just very high energy. He is not easily confused IMO. My son is 12 too and FYI most daycares in this area stop taking kids after the age of 12, even though I really think it is good to have for parents peace of mind. It is hard to find care for older kids.

Here's the news report from the reporter's blog I quoted upthread:

Snipped>>

It was towed from the home where Jonathan Foster lives with his mother and step father.

The missing boy's parents were also driven away by HPD detectives in separate units....no indication the parents were taken into custody.

At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, police said a child's burned body found in northeast Harris County could not be confirmed to be the child because it was too badly burned.

When asked why it took three days for an Amber Alert to be issued in the case, police said it was because they didn't feel they were getting the full story behind the child's disappearance.

...Volunteers from Texas Equusearch...on standby until they hear word from detectives on the case.

my comments: I paraphrased some sentences to stick to the TOS of linking articles...10%, etc.

This article mentions a press conference on Tuesday afternoon.. Is there a link to that pc online?

TES out searching again - grandmother driven away with LE

<snip>

Asked what she would like to say to the child, Gifford replied, "Little fellow, I love you, hang in there, don’t give up, we’re looking for you."

Gifford, clutching a stuffed animal that she said belonged to her grandson, then got into a police vehicle that drove away.

Equusearch founder Tim Miller said this afternoon that volunteers are going back out today to look for areas that might have been burned.

Thanks Lovingmom that jives with the way things are around here. and yes ADD kids can get a little confused when their little minds are going 90 MPH but that doesn't mean they get confused walking out the door, sometimes they just need more than 1 reminder to put on their shoes packing their backpacks etc.. and most (Not all) ADD or ADHD kids are on at least a low dose of meds to help them out in school.

I would want someone watching him so he wouldn't be tempted to run wild on the streets. I had a sitter for my kids when they were young teens - she wasnt much older and seemed more like a friend to them - however, it was someone who knew what they were doing and was accountable to me.

Worth. Every. Penny.

You are absolutely correct that it is difficult to find before/after school and days off from school care for kids over age 12. I can't think of any day cares that offer that, except maybe the YMCA.

I also have a child with ADD - mine is high energy and a little scatterbrained but not "easily confused".

Welcome to Websleuths, LM. Jonathan is in my prayers.

You're right, but the ears look "off" to me

Hi all... just caught up....

thoughts on the babysitter story... is it possible that the mom was 'told' this by the stepfather???

for example she leaves for work and he is home playing video games... gets the strange calls, comes home from work and step dad says he sent him to the babysitter and he came home to get a game/last time he saw him?

just thinking out loud here.

I think the babysitter story could be a fabrication on the part of one or more parties but leaning more toward step father imhoo.

I believe that Tim Miller would be assisting in this search, regardless of who's body this is.

It is a child. Who has been murdered. I don't think Tim Miller is going to say "when you decide it's Jonathan let me know and THEN we will help you look for burned areas."

He would be out there looking if it was Jaidin or any other child as well, in my opinion. Not to mention there is still at least a second child missing, no matter who this one is.
