Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Great job guys - at least we have some sort of time frame now. I wonder if the police still believe it was an "accidental" death - Police have now filed a report with the coroner, describing the disappearance as a suspected, accidental death. After all they filed this report with the coroner...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

So 5 days until the inquest - is it likely that the results will be made public? I'm sure there's so much more to this whole case than we have been led to believe so let's just hope the truth finally comes out.

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

True bearbear...I know we discussed this quite a while back and Gary's medical records have never been made public. It wouldn't surprise me if Gary had an underlying medical condition that he was being treated for.

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

I don't think Gary seemed (relatively) fine when he left the Hotel - Mystery still surrounds the night Mr Tweddle went missing but police have said previously that he was clearly affected by something. A taxi dropped him off at the resort after he had been to dinner at Silk's Brasserie in...

http://news.ninemsn.com.au/national/2013/07/19/18/45/lost-man-a-bear-grylls-blue-mt-search A report dating back to the 19th July just a few days after Gary disappeared has his sister Amy quoted as writing: "You're a Tweddle, a survivor, our very own Gary 'Bear' Grylls. We will find you," she...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Just reading this Gazette article along with recent posts when it struck me that maybe Gary had a drug hit BEFORE he ran out of The Fairmont. Maybe one of the colleagues had stuff that he shared with Gary with the understanding that Gary would pay him back for what he used!! This might help us...

INTERESTING YidArmyRach - and maybe that's why Gary's phone has NEVER been located as far as we know! The very next morning as the huge garbage trucks drove by our thoughts went to the "murder & dumping" scenario. But as the search scaled up with helicopters, ground searchers, dogs, abseilers etc...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Yes...property checking was voluntary. I imagine a lot of older people or single households would have felt quite reluctant & intruded upon when 3-4 big SES fellas rock up at your front door asking to search your property for a missing man without giving out any details. I said "no" the 2nd time...

Some very lateral thoughts there SouthAussie well worth exploring (but for now I need to sleep because yet again this case has my mind buzzing all over again). I will say though that the sense of urgency only hours after Gary was reported missing was incredible - never have we had services knock...

I have to wonder if Oracle footed any part of the bill for the search and recovery mission. I'm very pleased Gary was finally found and that his family & friends were able to give him a proper funeral & send off. I can't imagine not having closure - that would have been pure torture for his...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Yes...this really confused me today as well. I'm thinking Gary got a text or call from his dealer when he was back at The Fairmont drinking in one of the hotel rooms saying he (the dealer) was almost there. Gary then went down to the lobby and ran out of the Hotel without glasses & jacket to...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Or maybe he threw the phone in frustration when the battery ran out and then waited until dawn to try and find it or retrieve it?? After all it was the end of the day, Gary did make a 17 min call from his phone, he may have been using the phone as a torch so it's very possible it just turned...

Not sure if we will ever get any clear answers Fruity. I just hope there is something in the Coroner's findings that will help us all to understand what Gary's intentions were that fateful morning. As you can see from all of the photos over the last few pages that Gary did not simply walk off a...

Good point SouthAussie...many young people often take on employment in their younger years because it's a means to an end at that particular time of their life.I wonder how many of us are still in the same field by choice as we were in during our early 20's.The lure of the $$$ is also very...

It depends on the terrain as it is ever changing but normally if you tripped or veered off near the path the dense bushland would "capture" you, so to speak. I don't know of many paths that go straight up to a sheer cliff face - I would think you would have to go off track and hike a bit through...

We love our local peacock(s) (except when they eat the heads off the flowers). In the early hours of the morning and also in the late afternoon you can hear them calling - a sound I have grown up with. There used to be quite a few of them that "lived" in Everglades Gardens which isn't too far...

Exactly - Leura on a Monday night is ridiculously quiet. IF there was something to be dropped off to Gary they could have driven right up to the porte cochere of The Fairmont (see pic 4 in the below link) and done an exchange without arousing any suspicion. There is at least 20 metres between...

Found Deceased Australia - Gary Tweddle, 23, Blue Mountains NSW, 16 July 2013 - #3

Yes...there is a gap in residential homes along Sublime Pt Rd between Willoughby Rd and West St. There is a street light near the turnoff to Willoughby Rd then another one at the top of the hill near West Street. It's only a short walk between the two lights but in the dark it would seem like...

Pretty certain there is no correlation between these two cases. That young girl had been living with a pretty rough drug crowd in Katoomba & had inherited a small fortune which would have been very appealing to those desperate for funds to fuel their habit. Her case was recently up before the...
