None of this makes sense to me. Either she and/or her boyfriend were a part of this or those kidnappers were really stupid, or both. Of course, JMO, but really?
My parents live in Rosman, NC and have been there for over 20 years. Their house is in the mountains in a gated community where the smallest parcel of land is 10 acres. It's private property, but many locals still hunt on it because those mountain men grew up hunting there and they are not...
If it was a hit, why not kill them both in the same way at the same place? Seems like the chances of being seen would increase with taking Shirley somewhere else to kill her. Would a professional hit-person take that chance?
I love a nasty winter! Sunshine is so overrated. It snows here in Georgia where I live (Savannah area) about once every 20 years or so. Needless to say, it shuts down our city and is a treat for us, at least in my opinion.

I have no doubt that many people knew about the affair. People who are having an affair tend to make googly eyes at each other and are flirty and touchy-feely. It's kind of gross/fascinating to watch. :thinking:
Interesting question. Not at first, but by the time he killed her I think he did. That is assuming he wanted the problem out of his life. If NL was involved in the murder, then I think he did not necessarily hate EC, but NL may have insisted.
After all this time I did not expect her to be alive. So, if they did in fact find evidence that led to the arrest of CL, then I am happy with the result but sad for her young life and for her family.
