Found Deceased MI- Justin Oaks, 29, Jaxon Oats, 6, Monroe Co, 29 March 2020

I live about 7 or 8 miles from that spot on the river, have lived in this general area all my life. It was very mild that day but windy and it really picked up in the afternoon. That was our one day of warmth before it got chilly again, but the wind was pretty intense after 2/3ish, it knocked...

Found Deceased MI- Justin Oaks, 29, Jaxon Oats, 6, Monroe Co, 29 March 2020

My daughter is friends with wife/mom's little sister. They are a really nice, sweet family and they also have a baby at home. It's truly heartbreaking

I would be very shocked if either ended involved in the court case. They both have huge credibility issues and I don't think the prosecutor would blow a case with DNA and a confession by allowing them to be witnesses and muddying up the waters

That was horrible to read. Hopefully there's a conviction in that case that the Judge takes into consideration for this one and he gets a harsher sentence considering its a 2nd degree charge

If DC was drunk going from Newport to drop Chelsea off in Maybee it wouldn't really be an out of the way spot if he was taking back roads to avoid police.

I disagree on your point of no one willingly going to the site she was found, growing up in Newport and Carleton, ppl always found random spots to park to party or hookup

I agree with the second scenario, I think it was definitely not something he planned. Think he offered her a ride home, they pulled off at the tracks and after that it may have been him going farther than she wanted, he panicked and killed her or it may have been consensual rough sex gone wrong...

I always thought it was a sexual encounter gone wrong, I don't think she left with Clay unwillingly but I don't buy his story of rough sex gone wrong. I think it was more along the lines of him going too far and assaulting her and then being afraid she'd talk and he'd go to prison for rape. I...

I agree. I'd be very surprised it it's even requested by DCs attorney and more surprised if the court allowed it

Historically there's not a huge precedent for changes of venue here. Possibly because Michigan isn't a DP state. Similar situation in Armada with April Millsap, also a very small community no change of venue. His attorney may try, we shall see. Given his charge is 2nd degree I think it's more...

It surprises me too. It's a pretty small community here and you're right the degrees of separation are very small

I think LE probably feels comfortable with their case given the DNA evidence. At this point I doubt they'd muddy up their case with someone who may suffer from schizophrenia in the case of rootless or with HB who was charged with lying to LE. you're spot on saying rootless, if mentally ill may...

My guess would be that he may have been seeing someone at the time and borrowed her car, I'm sure LE are trying to find the vehicle if they haven't already

Prayers to you and Sierahs family. I need to brace myself as well as the whole community here. Her poor family doesn't need to be victimized yet again, this time in court by an attorney to get this off. It doesn't matter what Chelsea or any victim for that matter posts on social media...

MA - Bella Bond, 2, found dead, Deer Island, Boston Harbor, June 2015 - #2

Agreed, I'm sure that's what they were hoping as well. One problem with that is alot of ppl are very self involved, don't pay much attention to comings/goings of others and so on. Look at how many ppl don't even know their neighbors even after living by them for years. Society in general is much...
