Again, it's probably not the most appropriate time for RCMP to show all their cards and give completely honest answers. I totally agree that in most other situations I can think of involving journalists they should absolutely ask the uncomfortable questions :)

I understand that would be a useful tactic when interviewing, say, a corrupt politician. However, I don't see the point of interrogating/trying to 'trip up' the RCMP during an active and dangerous investigation.
