Seems like a completely reasonable thing to do on a weekend. We’ve all been there.

That’s it in a nutshell really. Can’t explain that one away

Just read the daily mail or news.com Gutter “journalism” but you can sift the wheat from the chaff. There’s also other methods but I’d get banned if mentioned them.

There’s a very small part of me that thinks that Dann can’t stand the prick but is doing his job very competently.

“To my loving family, I am very sorry for the pain, shame and suffering they have endured”. Without wanting to parse I think a more appropriate sentence would have been: “To my loving family, I am very sorry for the pain, shame and suffering that I caused”. It’s quite amazing that even in his...

I’m a total novice but I think they’re going to appeal on just about everything. Jury directions, verdict, “prosecutorial misconduct” etc and pray something sticks. I can’t see any of it working but you never know some justice might just feel the need to bignote themselves about it and provide...

This appeal process is going to be a real test of the justice system. We can get into a debate about if it’s a justice system or a legal system but I genuinely think when you get to an appeal and strip it all back what is in the interests of the victims and the community. Not some technicality -...

It’s a Hail Mary. The jury followed the directions given to them by the judge to a T. GL will try but he should fail. Remember the DPP put in an interlocutory appeal earlier in the trial. It’s worth reading that decision to get a sense of how the appeals court will view this.

They’re very good journos with great sources and they know if they burn them for a scoop they’ll never get info from them again. Sly just did a great Conversations interview with Richard Fidler for the ABC. Must be getting old I remember Fidler from the DAAS. Haha.

I thought it was an amazing film. I can understand the family not supporting or endorsing it. I respect that. It did paint a portrait of how creepy these guys are and the commitment of the coppers that put themselves into these situations to catch these pricks

Unbelievable book. Huge amounts of detail. Also a movie on Netflix loosely based on it called The Stranger

Well he’s going for the innocent defence given it’s claimed he wants to fast track his extradition to clear his name. No doubt part of it is him wanting to get out of that jail in Rome asap. This trial is going to go for yonks.

Or maybe it exonerated him. If you were a suspect in a double homicide you’d think you’d like to clear your name at the earliest possible opportunity if you were innocent.

Well he wants a fast tracked extradition. Maybe that’s because of the prison he’s a guest of or maybe he’s mounting a case of innocence. Maybe both. He could have solved all of his problems by giving a DNA sample when he was asked.

depends on when the red notice was issued IMO. We’re assuming he’s sophisticated enough to know what that is firstly. Secondly we don’t know if he left Greece before that notice was issued. He might have thought being in Europe would be enough and the police just forgot about him. Oops.

Could have just given the DNA sample before he left. Must have slipped his mind.
