Not at all. Anyone being questioned by the police should always have their lawyer present regardless of their innocence or guilt and police know that as well.
My husband is a prosecuting attorney. He says that if someone in in jail and has information on a violent crime, but wasn't a direct participant, the prosecutors will always try to secure a plea deal, usually a very generous one, for their cooperation.
