My copy actually did show up after being lost in the mail system for SIX MONTHS! How's that for snail mail?
It is now in London, England, being enjoyed by a British WSer.
Blessings,
Jim
Not necessarily. Texas inmates can receive stationery, envelopes and a limited number of other supplies, provided they are sent directly from the store or manufacturer. Mama Darlie could have ordered the stationery and had it sent in to her.
I noticed that, too. I do prison ministry in the Texas prison system (although I've never been to Darlie's unit), and I was a bit surprised that she was wearing them. I'm wondering if it was a special concession for the cameras (although Texas is not known for making such allowances). Very curious.
Yeah, I guess that does pose a bit of a problem for her, doesn't it? Since she's the innocent victim in all this, it wouldn't do to have to admit her own guilt. My sleuthing brain was asleep on that one.
The only thing I can't quite understand about all of this is, if Darlie "has" something on Darin (and I agree with you -- I think she does), what does she gain by keeping her mouth shut? She doesn't strike me as the kind of person who is dripping with altruism and kindness.
The only motivation...
Agreed. The only new thing I heard was Darlie's comment about not going back to Darin if she were set free.
What makes that particularly interesting is (correct me if I'm wrong on this) that they are still married. Has Darin "faithfully" stood by his woman (at least in public) because he...
Here's a response by Darrell Bock, one of the top New Testament scholars in the world. He was given a chance to see the special before it airs next week, but was not allowed to make any public comments until after today's news conference. You might find his thoughts interesting...
Actually, I think that's one of the most plausible explanations. Of course, since Darlie maintains her innocence and we can't get inside her head to see the truth, we may never know.
I think it's the novelist in me that likes this explanation. Fiction writers prefer that loose ends be tied up...
Coastallady, I'm very sorry for your loss.
My wife and I lost our first child when she was only a week old. We knew that she was going to die (severe birth defects), but even so it was a devastating time for both of us. I know that people handle grief differently, but I can't imagine any...
For me the most chilling (and damning) line in the 911 tape comes near the end. I don't have the exact quote before me, but Darlie briefly breaks out of her hysteria and yells at Darin: "someone came in here and did this intentionally, Darin!"
What strikes me is her tone of voice. It reminds...
Actually, Goody, I hadn't. I'd always thought of this as a rage killing, mostly because it's still difficult for me to wrap my mind around anybody doing such an horrific thing to two innocent children intentionally. And if it was a rage killing, it would likely have happened quickly, one after...
Hi WS'ers,
I'm popping in from the world of lurkdom and book promotion to see what you all have to say about the "bloody sock". I'm sure this has probably been discussed in detail (perhaps many times), so if this rehashes an old thread, just point me in the right direction and I'll go read...
And what Texan could forget Governor Jim Hogg, who named his daughter IMA!
Don't believe me? Check out the link: www.famoustexans.com/imahogg.htm
Some have said that he had another daughter named Urah, but that's urban legend.
How's that for creative naming?
Jim
Interesting theory, but I'm not inclined to read much into it.
Our two kiddos' names both start with C, but it wasn't by any particular plan or design. We liked the name Christopher for our son, and when we had a girl, my wife had picked the name Charlene ever since she was in high school (No...
[/b][color=black]Exactly! In a novel, we would eventually find out who killed the boys, and it would make sense--or at least you would have a clear understanding of why the killer committed the crime.
In real life, things are never so neat.
Two precious boys are...
