If this person was charged, then his DNA profile would be in CODIS. Unfortunately, the DNA for Julia's case has not had a match to my knowledge.

Hi All, Here's a short update on Julia's case. Julia's mom, Kimberly, is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia. She has been fighting this since August of 2023. Concerning Julia's case..... On March 11th, we had a meeting with Chief Moore. My wife, Linda, and Rose (Julia's grandmother)...

The Nancy Grace video did get public exposure to Julia's case. Unfortunately, there were many false or incomplete facts presented during the video. I won't elaborate but just say there should have been better in-depth research done by her team prior to posting it.

The FBI or any outside organization must be invited or approached by the Ypsilanti Police Department. They have jurisdiction and in Michigan, they must request help. I have emailed the Attorney General as well as the Governor. They cannot help!

    MI MI - Julia Niswender, 23, EMU student, Ypsilanti, 10 Dec 2012 - #6

It has now been over eleven long years and still no real progress. The Ypsilanti Police Department (YPD) refuses any "outside "assistance from any organization. Why do they refuse help? We all know that there were some very telling mistakes made early on in the investigation but why have they...

The "new" Chief of Police has been on the job for quite a while now and still no updates on Julia's case. I hope YPD will find some outside assistance on her case.

The only detective listed on the Ypsilanti Police site is Scott Donley. He was in the Class of 2019 that graduated from the Washtenaw Community College Police Academy. He was hired by Ypsilanti on 10/1/2019. Not sure exactly when he was made a detective.

Here's an interesting fact from City-Data.com..... "According to our research of Michigan and other state lists, there were 359 registered sex offenders living in Ypsilanti, Michigan as of July 10, 2023. The ratio of all residents to sex offenders in Ypsilanti is 58 to 1." Read more: Ypsilanti...

Here's a view of the Peninsular Place..... Google Maps Julia's apartment was in the building to the far left. Her apartment was on the front left of that building. I have been there many times and the warehouse or manufacturing buildings are not in view from her apartment.

    MI MI - Julia Niswender, 23, EMU student, Ypsilanti, 10 Dec 2012 - #6

Just a fact for you, there was only one door to enter or exit the apartment. The person did take the front door key and the key to Julia's bedroom from her lanyard.

This would be great but Ypsilanti must cooperate with them and therein lies the big problem!

Again, I emailed the Administrative Lt. Brent Yuchasz on Friday morning at 7:37AM. He read it at 10:22AM. He has yet to respond. The only thing I asked in the email was: "I would like to know who is the lead detective on the Julia Niswender murder case? " That was all I asked and he has not...

Ypsilanti has a new Chief of Police. I have emailed him twice and called YPD to talk to him. So far, I have not received any response to the emails or the calls. I called to see who the lead detective is for Julia's case and have yet to receive a name! Something is very wrong with this picture!

    MI MI - Julia Niswender, 23, EMU student, Ypsilanti, 10 Dec 2012 - #6

Julia's murder occurred off-campus (Peninsular Place Apartments), thus the Ypsilanti Police Department has the responsibility to do the investigation. I'm not sure where the EMU Police station is located but I believe it is relatively close to the apartment complex.

Yes, Detective Annette Coppock retired on Friday (28th). She was the lead detective on Julia's case, so now I'll have to wait to see who is put in-charge by the new Chief. I'm letting him get "settled in" before I start emailing him. He sounds like someone with lots of experience and wants to...

Great news !!!!! Ypsilanti Police Department now has a new Chief of Police. He is from the Henderson, Nevada Police Department with many years of experience.... he is Kirk Moore. He was hired 4 days ago. He may be our hope to have something done on Julia's case. I'll give him a week to settle...

    MI MI - Julia Niswender, 23, EMU student, Ypsilanti, 10 Dec 2012 - #6

Here's a bit of info as an update..... I went to Michigan and met with the Washtenaw County Prosecutor on April 13th. We met for almost an hour. He mentioned that he has not been approached by YPD concerning Julia's case. He does not get involved until LE seeks an arrest warrant. Then he would...

    MI MI - Julia Niswender, 23, EMU student, Ypsilanti, 10 Dec 2012 - #6

This would be a great idea, but the Ypsilanti Police Department continues to not accept any help from any "outside" agency, regardless of who it is. An outside agency would need access to all of the information YPD has in their files which is something they don't want to happen for whatever...

    MI MI - Julia Niswender, 23, EMU student, Ypsilanti, 10 Dec 2012 - #6

I have heard that some people are spreading unfounded facts concerning Julia's murder. I am disappointed by this as none of the things that have been said can be verified but are only someone's opinion. There have been some FaceBook and other video pod casts that seem to dwell upon unproven and...
