This morning we see that Bill Stanton, texting a reply to reporter Cliff Judy about his and the family's whereabouts, texts:

Yes, with smiley face too. Tell me where there's any sense of utter devastation in that text. Please, show it to me. Maybe it's just me. :waiting:

I don't think their attorney's office could be considered "neutral ground." I think there are lots of other places they could do it that would be more neutral. Like an uninvolved attorney's office or a court reporting office.

I wouldn't be comfortable with them holding it at any attorney's office, no matter how uninvolved they claimed to be.

JMO but I don't believe they're shunning this interview because they're unhappy with the LE decoration scheme.

The only team member that I recall (unless you count JT) is the "threat specialist", and I haven't heard anything about anything she's done to look for Lisa.

IMO, the "team" is a criminal defense team for DB/JI, and not a team to find Lisa.

If there is anything that makes me lean toward the parents it is the fact that they are like sheep being herded and for all appearances, not fighting back with this high profile attorney that the most important thing is Lisa. Failure to cooperate in the investigation is the one thing that leads me to question the motive of the parents. In the meantime 3 weeks have passed since their last cooperative effort with LE, and an infant is out there.

The Grand Jury is convened good luck to Joe T and his clients. He may be leading them right into charges. Defense spin is not helping them.

I guess I feel like law enforcement (and especially federal LE) shouldn't have to change their procedures because the parents won't cooperate with procedures as they are. I kind of see it as a form of coercion to be frank.

If they (LE) do, even voluntarily, I see it setting the stage for criminal investigations to stalemate far quicker. To be honest I have never seen it in a MP case either - jme. I've never seen a family that stated they would cooperate IF LE did x, y, z...not that I can recall pre-caffeine, anyway.

And on a side note I truly doubt LE would telegraph nationally that they want to speak to the parents without an attorney present. Can you even imagine that law suit?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If they DO have enough evidence to bring them in for questioning, then they just should do it. Just go pick them up adn bring them in. They have the right not to talk, but THAT is our system. If there is probable cause, you get your interrogation. There is a reason and logic to our process, and it should be respected.

If they DON'T have enough evidence to bring them in for questioning, then I see no reason why they can't compromise to get what they want. If they have no evidence, and DB and JI have already done 2 high pressure interrogations AND LE has done a 17 hour search, then it's time (IMO) to treat them like parents until you get that evidence.

If you read the whole article, it's only specific questions they haven't answered to police satisfaction. Young himself has said that aside from those "vital questions" they have been cooperative and in contact.

If they are lying about those "vital questions" then shame on them. If they are not, then what else can they do but repeat the same answer?

But either way, it's not been 3 weeks since their last cooperative effort, fwiw.

Heck, why not conduct LE interviews the way we do it here in the land of fruits and nuts - at the Four Seasons Hotel! Michael Jackson's personal physician from hell, Dr. Conrad Murray, was treated like a celebrity by our star-struck elite LAPD detectives! Nothing but the finest for our criminals!!!

DB and JI are now the latest 'In Demand' celebrities - get them a suite at the best hotel in town and go at it!

You bring up a good point. I also wonder if it could be the flip-side, D&J are clueless as to some of the details that are playing out in front of us. I think it was said that D was unaware that CS had been fired. I wonder if D&J think...ok, we've got these powerful people that can help us find Lisa. We just need to do what they tell us to do and hopefully all this will work out and we can get Lisa back. BS told us he will investigate and find Lisa. We will just follow direction. When what may really be and seems to be going on is BS and JT are just getting appearances in front of national media outlets to further their own careers. I wonder if BS and JT are giving misinformation to the parents too. JT already stated they are "simple" people. I don't know...just thinking out-loud or thru my fingers. lol :seeya:

DB and JI have not been named suspects in this case. DB is making claims as to what happened in the interview.

Mark Klaas was the first person LE looked at when Polly went missing. He immediately told them every single detail, never lied, and took a polygraph that he passed! He cleared his name from the get go, to allow LE to seek the truth regarding his missing child.

Mark Klaas is a prime example of what all parents should do if, God forbid, their child goes missing. DB and JI, not so much. :maddening:

If I remember right, many missing cases we have followed, the first press conferences are LE and the family appearing together. They report who the missing person is, show latest pictures, give last known sighting. I have read where the parents have been urged to beg for the return, keep mentioning Lisa's name... LE has experience in questioning of this sort, and we know they often accuse parents, spouses etc. - but then LE gets a sense of what may have happened. To me, LE saying they were not cooperating speaks loudly and no matter what, won't heal the separation already created. Accident or negligence, intruder or not, something needs to change. Parents or spouses speak to the press, thanking them for helping but asking for their understanding that their are some facts that can only be shared with LE. But those facts need to be shared with LE.

This cycle we are going through with the MSM running an investigation, paid spokesmen, everyone profitting, makes the next case and the ones after that even more horrendous. Having a lawyer like Joe T does not impress me.
