Would a person be allowed to take a concealed weapon into a Target Store? Just wondering...
Only if it's not raining.

There are rules in everything. There was obviously rules in place with the Neighborhood Watch Program. We all know he says he wasn't "on duty" that night, but really? He was on duty 24/7 and we all know it.
I understand that when merely observing and reporting, it shouldn't enter the picture. I totally get that. I'm saying that a lot of people have brought up that when you're a member of/acting as a part of the neighborhood watch program, you're not supposed to carry a gun.You are not on duty. Only GZ took upon himself to "be on duty". You see something you think should be reported and you call 911, give them the info they ask for and you are done. That's it. A gun has nothing to do with it. Your eyes and phone are all you are required to use. The gun should never enter into it. jmo
It's a separate license to work as an armed security guard, which he was not doing. And GZs family trying to say he wasnt on patrol is that because he doesnt have a license to carry a concealed weapon while working (neighborhood watch)? Its a separate license than just a regular carry permit. Another problem for GZ. jmo.
not sure why one article says 4 hours after and the other a half hour, I was hoping to find a time and date stamp somewhere on the video or even a clock in the back ground but no such luck....
Of course if there is 6 minutes of it, we are missing some of the video.
Hey y'all - I'm back
:seeya:
So............................what did I miss? :floorlaugh:
I see GZ isn't in jail yet. And I also saw where his bro did an interview and put his own spin on what happened. And there was an "eye witness" yet that eye witness isn't really sure "who's on first" and didn't see the actual shot.
Glad I went out to play - it was much more fun. Plus it felt good to heave a 4 lb hunk of iron at a little white pole. I really get all my frustration out.
Does Piers Morgan or McDonell repeat again tonight? I'd like to catch those.
Naw - that ain't the one you want to go to. We have the Swap Shop up here in Lauderdale. Its at a multi-screen drive in and is known internationally. Even the cruise ships bus passengers out there to shop.
I don't go down to Miami - don't really cross the county line. Can't remember last time I was in Dade county. You can keep it - JMHO.
As I've stated before, there is no "on duty" or "off duty" when it comes to an NWP. It's not like Citizens on Patrol. It's a very informal program where you're just agreeing to be extra vigilant and report weird things to the police. You're essentially always "on duty", which is where my question comes from.
Actually, they were all more NWP by definition. Zimmerman went above and beyond.I'd say when he started following Trayvon and calling the cops is when he became an NWP member that night. Being a normal civilian is what the witnesses did. They called 911, stayed put, and waited for police.
GZ was cruising with his gun, in his truck, looking for the first person he felt he could confront. I believe he had a plan that night!

What was he saying?
He knows darn well the rules of the NWP. If he wants to do that, that's fine, but LEAVE your gun at home while on duty. No One's saying he should give up his gun...
But that's what I'm saying - I don't believe neighborhood watch actually has duty times. It's a constant thing. You're just saying you'll keep an extra careful eye on the neighborhood and report what you see to the police if it seems off. Essentially, you're always on duty when you're in your neighborhood.

Hi joypath. I think we are all waiting. Good to see you here, you really rock! :toastred: :seeya:
Oh he did, he was just objective and not blatantly pro TM IMO. That did not agree with some.
None of the above, and yeah I consider it 24/7. If I hear a loud noise or screaming in the middle of the night, I'm going to call it in! My next door neighbor, but across a tiny street, had a car crash into his car parked in front of his house at 3a.m. You better believe I called that one in! My DD slept through it!I have a question to anyone who has join a Neighborhood Watch Program. Did you sign any kind of legal contract that stated what you could or couldn't do in regards to your duties. And if so did this contract state that these restrictions or requirements applied at all times or only when officially acting as a Watch member. Did the contract state when you are to be considered officially acting as a Watch member, or are you considered "on the job" 24/7?
I'm not as concerned about how he got face down as I am about how his body apparently spun 180 degrees so that his feet were on the same sidewalk that Mr. Zimmerman's said his head was being bashed on.
That based on what the police released it sounds like GZ was justified. Don't know if he has changed his opinion since then and I don't want to put words in his mouth.
(((HUGS, Nore!)))......and to think I vowed that I wouldn't follow another :maddening: Fla. case again! This time.........my STAFF are howling over this case and lease:"demanded" lease:that I find out what the great WSers are sleuthing! :rocker::rocker:
