Earlier today it was posted about spike lee, al sharpton, jackson, walgreen looters, cracker t-shirt rapper, etc. and how they were doing no good. Those posters flooded with posts that those people did not speak/represent trayvon. In the same spirit, If these people do not represent Trayvon then why should anyone be concerned if SPD has finding that they do not like?

I know that sounds very snarky, and i do not mean to be that way to you. I was using the same logic that was used this morning that I thought was a bit off.

I'm not quite sure what you're getting at.

Maybe I wasn't clear - IDK. There has to be sides. An "arrest" side and a "no arrest" side - and one ofht them is not going to get their wish. If that happens to be the "arrest" side - then I really do think it will get ugly. By Trayvon's supporters? Maybe-maybe not - but there is always the "fringe" just waiting to pounce on the next big thing and use it to reek havoc.

It was what the NBP guy said the other day. We are going to force our government to do its job. And if it doesn't, then we will.

To me - those were "fightin' words" and the lines are being drawn. And that's a very scary thing.

AND lack of respect for or faith in our systems. However, I think the Presidents comment was made with the intent of helping people THINK before passing judgement based on bias. It DID help bring empathy and understanding to the case. I don't think it was meant to sway people to overlook ANY facts of the case.

I personally have seen more facts that convince me that GZ was in the wrong than TM. The President's comment had no influence on my considering facts.

He did not have an influence on my opinion, but I felt bad for the Zimmerman family because it was implied that and injustice was done the the boy that would look like the son the President's would look like

OK thank you that answers that, so did he have a holster? I would think that if TM saw a gun he would have ran or did he think he could get the gun away from him? I saw the Zimmerman brother on Pierce and Pierce said he heard on the tape a racial slur. The brother claim Zimmerman was running and just was making noises. So did Martin hear him call him a name and was going to fight him until he saw the gun? Somebody screamed Help the Martins say it was Trayvon and the Zimmermans say it was G. So who knows.

In the police report it states that "Located on the inside of Zimmermann's waistband,I removed a black Kel Tek 9mm PF9 semi-auto handgun and holster".

I agree. I think it will get ugly. I was just saying that the people that were stirring it up now Sharpton,etc were said to not be representing Trayvon. Nvmd- it was a flippant late night post. sorry I do agree though. I think they will have to 'leak' some big information that shows more evidence in GZ's favor if that is the outcome they determine. If they just hold a press conference and spill it all at once it will be mayhem.

Thankx lola - but I'm not in Miami. I'm in Ft. Lauderdale. But, yes I'm looking to get out. But I'm looking to go rural - out in the agricultural areas - cucumber land! lol DH and I want to get a nice weedle spot out somewhere with just a couple of acres and then sit back and watch the rest of the world go by.

I'm just "so over" living in Mega Urbanville. You can keep it.

What I am coming to believe, and no doubt this will be unpopular, is that the bar for a concealed carry permit in the great state of Florida (and likely other places too) is too low for my comfort. Just lacking a felony conviction isn't good enough for me. I understand that is all Florida requires, but I, personally, am not comforted by the idea that someone can be arrested (and not aquitted) for assault on an LEO, have a restraining order issued against them, have a history of road rage, and hitting women and still legally wander around the neighborhood with a gun stuffed in their drawers. If GZ had been limited to "apprehending" his victims with pepper spray Trayvon Martin would still be alive. Moo

This is weird, I admit. It's the psychology major in me though...

How would GZ be treated for PTSD this soon? The symptoms have to last more than a month...and Joe Oliver has been saying he got counseling for PTSD. Wouldn't that be impossible?

where are you getting this symptoms have to last more than a month? I know people that have PTSD and as far as I know there is no set time table for how long these need to last, in fact the sooner someone gets treatment the better.

I-95 is about 8 blocks west of my house and at that particular interchange it is 14 lanes wide Yep 14 - 7 in each direction. Broward county is huge and one solid slab of concrete. Nothing like the sleepy little seaside town I grew up in.

Does GZ have any more siblings? Was it just 2 boys or is there a sister? And I didn't catch it - does this brother live here?

I know you all are going to think my life has been crazy to the point where it becomes too much... but my life has been crazy and great at the same time.

When I was in High School, I worked at a Burger King. Police officers would come in all the time. One day, I was taking an order for a group of officers and one of the officers was acting really strange and I was trying to understand what he was saying so I could take his order. In just a moments notice, he snapped and went for his gun. His fellow officers had to grab him and and had to restrain him on the ground and grab his gun. He had just snapped.

A detective came and talked to me the next day to tell me he had been put on leave and they apologized to me. I don't know what made him snap? I didn't do anything at all?

ETA: I think Zimmerman snapped!

I said nothing about race. I am not sure TM is innocent in this because there is not enough information yet.

So, basically, he's guilty until proven innocent? The victim of a homicide?
