This doesn't surprise me, because I don't believe GZ's story. The girlfriend said that Trayvon was afraid of the man following him. He said he was still following him and then turned and ask him why he was following him. So GZ's story is a lie. I think it is interesting also that he now appears fit, rather than portly. It was stated on a show by GZ's friend that he is now 170 pounds versus 250, but we now hear he looks in good shape. So he still was probably stronger than Trayvon who has been described as tall and skinny. I believe that GZ pushed Trayvon, but even if Trayvon did push him first (I don't believe he did) he was trying to defend himself from what he perceived as danger. It is probable that he could see the gun, whether GZ had it in his hand or his holster.
