This may have been boldly stated and I missed it, but has it been clearly verified that the rectangular area of the (spare) tire well carpet that was cut out, was or was not done by LE?

I ask because a) I find it odd they would cut out such a large sample area b) as rough as the cut looks, I wonder if it could have been done with oh, let's say a flatware knife c) I don't see any ALS photos of this piece as a whole. I see a bent square shaped, but not a longer rectangle one.

Eidetic, thanks for opening my eyes to what was really there. It makes it real to see the color difference heightened. Stains, many say the stain is an outline of a child's decomposing body, maybe Caylee...shudder...Casey still drives car...:scream: but the jury will see that her car is testimony of her evil crime.

That's what I think. I can make out the outline of a little nose and mouth. :furious: Of course, someone else may see something else.

Eidetic, thank you for all your work. I know that cranking the color sat/tint is not the same as forensic testing and that we don't know what really caused all these stains. But what your experiment shows as far as "drag patterns" from the interior trunk toward the bumper on the left side was an eye-opener. (ETA: However I did expect more staining/color change visible on the top side of the carpet piece that covers the spare, given that the underneath/backing section is so clearly marked with that half-circle and its ring of salty white...)

Off to remind myself where in the trunk GA said the laundry bag was when he caught a glimpse of it, and to verify that KC is right-handed...

What strikes me about my experiment in the making, is the rear right of the vehicle lining, is what would logically be where someone scrubbing intently might brace themselves while working on removing a stain.
It appears that spot had some question of contamination that resulted in a good scrub as well.

Ok, I admit my eyes are the worst ever....but is anyone else seeing what I think I see on pic #29 at the below link? It looks like vertebra, botton looks like legs bent, crossed at ankles and the top high lights at the sides her arms. What is curious is something is showing up brighter at the ankles and wrists, (if what I'm seeing is correct). What could cause that?

I thought that was the reason LE collected the shop vac. But then I thought I read that the contents were not tested. Maybe someone can jog my memory.

Also, the white ring around the stain could be hydrogen peroxide. Nurses use it to remove blood stains. That would also kill DNA.

Maybe that shop vac that LE took from the Ant's home is somehow related to what the prosecution wants to talk to JS about in their private meeting. Perhaps, someone tried to clean the trunk, and then emptied the dirty decomp water in the backyard. It would explain the cadaver dogs hitting on certain items in the yard. JMO

From WESH -- "The trunk liner photographs showed a flaky substance and what look like small stains. Larger stains are visible on the back of the liner." In our discussions about the paper towels in the trash bag, wasn't grave wax described as a flaky substance? Am I remembering this correctly?

Eidetic, great job!! I hope you don't mind that I snipped your post and kept only this one photo. I wanted to see it along with the one that has the stain in the backing. I find it odd that the big stain in the rounded section does not show up with your color saturation and tint up.

Well... I listened to his 08/04/08 interview aaaaall the way through again, and no mention of laundry bag in his recounting of gas can episode from June 24 in that one, BUT he did mention that the following WERE in said trunk when they brought the Pontiac home from Amscot:

- collapsible blue crate (did I miss LE photo evidence of this somewhere?)
- diaper bag in trunk...? or back seat? or another one of KC's... or Caylee's? backpacks... no monkeys, all white.

Also noted that while he was describing the gas can altercation on June 24 2008, he mentioned that he approached KC's car near the "passenger side rear tail light" before she opened trunk and jerked gas cans out for him. Which, from the stains we've noted here, puts him maybe 6 feet tops away from potential source of potential odor/staining.
