Very generous of you to assume he was picking a fair fight-In fact, it was poor sportsmanship.

Mr. Mason could have started his own blog, he could have worked as a media correspondent-Instead, he chose to take this case, which means he needs to follow a certain decorum that you are not obligated to follow. You get to put whatever you want to out there short of defamation, he does not necessarily get to reply (without blowback).

Just the brakes of life, sour grapes aren't going to help him.
BTW, as an observer, I find his bombastic personality off-putting and I don't think it helps KC. A subdued courtroom will allow the jury to make a thoughtful decision about KC's fate. A interrupting, yelling, silly objection lobbing, making Judge S. upset courtroom will only make the jury less sympathetic towards KC. If the prosecution displayed bad behaviors, like in the OJ case, it would be a toss up-But this pros team knows how to keep their cool and this guy's mouth will be like running a stock car motor in an echo chamber. Earplugs, please.

Actually, Cheney has appeared on several local and network channels chastising the Anthony Defense team and is frequently quoted by the Orlando Sentinel.

To me it is ironic that he has now become Baez's white knight.

Its curious this news about ABC spokesperson saying JB is the attorney they dealt with, does this really mean a conflict of interest if true.

:waitasec: In court today it was said that ABC paid Casey $200,000, but ABC spokes woman said, The deal was done with an attorney representing several owners of copyrighted content, That attorney is Baez, she added. So are they claiming that Baez got paid the $200,000? And if so, would this not mean that the defense lied in court today? :waitasec::furious:

I think they lied by ommission anyway. The poster who pointed out that 70K is 10% of 700K makes a good point, though nothing I can prove-Did Mr. M get that money from a source located in Cali? Technically, if he did, JB was not lying when he dispelled the "rumors."

What I find the most comical about this, however, is the fact that ABC paid for pictures that we were able to find plastered all over the internet for free. Yes, yes, I suppose they might not be able to use them without her permission....still praying Zenaida lays claim to every penny they ever make, Ever.

The Orlando Sentinel proper is now reporting that ABC spokesperson says that they made a deal with Baez. Before it was just the TV blog guy reporting that.

WFTV strangely silent.

I'm not local, but isn't WFTV an ABC affiliate? If so, I don't find their silence strange. Talk about between a rock and a hard spot. Isn't this what hornsby was talking about in re. Kathi Belich not jumping on this story like 'white on rice'? If they are the Orlando ABC affiliate, they are in quite the pickle. Scoops for every other local media galore!

I suppose a lot goes on in the courtroom that does not result in hard feelings at happy hour-it is up to you to determine if you feel he has taken real exception to your blog and stream.
I just find it weak for them to take shots at any of us out here. KC's team has yet to publish their own witness list-Yet, they can take the time to point out what you are doing?

But she also said..."minus the $22,500" from that. I think taking 22.5K from 70K is more feasible then taking 22.5K from 7K....JMO

I don't know about the whole thing. AL also said something about buying computers. Since when does a client pay for that? That is an office expense. Tried to get everyone calculating on what we can remember so far, but we will just have to wait 15 days or so. I think it is very interesting, will be anyway. Especially considering most retained defense attorney will charge a flat fee for a case, not hourly, say murder is $250,000. That is it. No billing for phone calls, letters, motions, conversations, crime scene visits. A defense attorney being paid by the state for a murder case will bill according to the billing laws and hours allowed in the state, including expenses, but the attorneys never dive to far in the expense realm as those are cheaper than the hour realm and they can only reach x amount of dollars. Meaning, JB probably has no records of expenses except for any experts, of course any that did not say I am here pro bono "for now".

Baez's white knight????

At this point a rabbit in a coat of armor would pass. Actually.....KC representing herself.....would qualify as a white knight to this defense.

I NEVER once thought I would challenge any of your theories (because I pretty much always agree), however, I don't think his motivation is to become 'Baez's white knight'. I thought I might have seen a sharp sickle in his briefcase. ;)

But she also said..."minus the $22,500" from that. I think taking 22.5K from 70K is more feasible then taking 22.5K from 7K....JMO

It was $70,000 from the 'charity clinic' and you could deduct her $22,500 expenses from that. Total left $47,500. I am pretty positive of these figures.

If I might digress for a second. I do not believe there is some $700K deal out there, nor have I ever thought that.

Rozzie Franco, who has a gift for salacious comments, is the one who stated that "rumor" on the BlogTalk interview. I never agreed with her, nor even followed up as it was out in left field; which I thought was obvious until the blogs got a hold of her statement - some attributing it to me.

Personally, the one rumor I heard from different, mainstream reporters was for $250K paid up front, and $250K to be paid at the back end "when she was acquitted." That was before it was verified that it was ABC who paid the money, and before Baez confirmed the 200K today.

And my only real point, is the sole source of the 700K rumor is from Rozzie Franco who just blurted it out. Neither I, nor Steph Watts agreed with her or said we heard the same thing. I just think it should end, as being unsubstantiated and unlikely rumor from Roz.

Hi all!

Wow...what a doozy of a day! This was a great hearing....definitely kept me on my toes! I'll post more details later (the kids seem to think 6 p.m. means they get to eat dinner or something :) ) but I did want to make a comment about George and Cindy.

I read a lot of posts regarding their body language and how C was giving G the cold shoulder, etc. What you couldn't see, though, was that she was rubbing his back or arm almost the entire time. Was it done intentionally to give appearances of a happy home? Maybe...no way to know about that. Regardless of her intentions, though, she was making an effort to rub his back in a "loving" way throughout the hearing. I did comment at the time, though, that G's body language was interesting. He was definitely turned away from C while she was doing the affectionate touching. What I couldn't tell from my angle, however, was whether he was turned away to get away from her or whether he was having to sit that way to see around the person in front of him.

Anyhow...another little tidbit:

When we were waiting outside, I overheard Cindy speaking to one of the attorneys saying, "I know she can't have it, but I was hoping you could put it on the table so she could see it and it could bring her some comfort." At that time, she pulled out a little velvet box and opened it for him to see inside (I, however, had a bad angle). She then said, "See? It's a little four leaf clover." I'm guessing it was a necklace or charm of some kind. I never saw the little velvet box make an appearance on the table, though. Probably a big no-no and I'm guessing the lawyer said he couldn't do it. That's just a guess on my part, though.

More later...gotta feed my little angels! :) I haven't even had a chance to see the videos of the hearing yet. I want to get a view from a different angle to see what ya'll saw. I waved to you!!! Ok, no I didn't, but I should have!

If I was a betting person, when all is said and done. Andrea Lyon will be the only attorney left standing.

I'd love to hear what you mean and what you predict will be the judge's ruling. Do you think they'll get any expert fees from the state? Do you mean that they may get some for Lyon or do you mean that all these attorneys suck, except her and won't last through trial?

Then why post anything about it here?

what did you want me to say to this man? i was not there as a news station, atty nor media. i happen to follow the case and live local . i was waiting in line to go in and a couple of reporters were also waiting. i did not hear them interview him . we were all just making small talk. when i was talking with cindy he stood near . when i said i hope it all works out he said yes, others are looking into things. i am not going to make up a story for you. i was nice enough to disclose i was there, i gave up my privacy of what i was wearing. perhaps this is not enough for you - there is always seats in court room if you care to come. if i heard any conversation he had with anyone else it was not between him and i. besides i did not !

Probably a shamrock! Remember how huge they were into shamrocks? Even teddy had on a shamrock tee-shirt at the memorial. And yesterday was St. Paddy's Day.

I mean that I think that Lyon is the only attorney who is in it for the right reasons, thus she will stay in it for the right reasons.

If the others are still around, it will be just to get their face on TV, but will not have any major role (i.e. F. Lee Bailey in Simpson case).

I appreciate very much you sharing your experience with us. :blowkiss:

I don't think you owe any of us a damn thing other than what YOU'D like to disclose.

Do you think that he has plans to come in and straighten the whole defense team up....maybe take over? He has to know what a lousy attorney Baez is.

Rabbit does not quite compute. Weasel comes to mind though.

LML......thank you for sharing. I don' think anyone expected you to say anything to anyone. Your post may have read as a bit of a news "tease" for more info to come later. I am sure you didn't mean it in that way, but given how everyone is already so "traumatized" by the media spin in this case I can see how it could be taken several ways.
Thank you for being there....for sharing your experience....and for speaking as a person. We do appreciate you and your willingness to "expose yourself" by describing your attire.
I don't think anyone wants you to act in an official capacity...... Everyone is just "hungry" for firsthand details and for people to think that you have info that you can't share is likely too much for folks to process.
