1Chump, I love the way you broke that down. I totally agree with this. That's why I also think that Tommy wanted GMH to tell Misty. The purpose of that would've been to let Misty know that he was about to TALK....not about JO but about what really happened. Misty would've understood that to mean that he was about to tell about "Ron". When LE started that search and brought Misty and Tommy down to the dock, Misty knew the cat was out the bag....Not to mention...LE brought Ron over for a meeting the same day they took Misty down to the dock. If I had to guess, I would say they spoke to Ron after Misty confirmed Tommy's story down at that dock.
In my heart I believe that Misty has finally told the truth....But she was put into a position where she had no other choice but to tell the truth as she knows it.

Misty's lawyer comment: "Misty's position is she's told law enforcement what happened and it's their decision to act on the information," he said.

You made me think of Ron's attorney's comments after LE met with Ron that day. According to Ron's attorney who was not in the meeting with Ron, Ron said that LE told him they needed to start thinking about planning a funeral. Everyone else came out of that meeting saying they would not believe Haleigh was dead. They wanted proof. But Ron believed it enough to tell his attorney they needed to start planning the funeral.

IMO, that told LE that Tommy and Misty talking and taking them to that dock made Ron think they either found Haleigh or they were going to find her soon. Because you do not plan a funeral without a body.

IMO, the funeral comment makes me believe the part of the call that Ron disposed of Haleigh's body is true.

I remember that day too, 1Chump, however LE spoke with Ron AGAIN w/out the rest of the family that same week. This happened the day Misty was taken down to the dock. Was it Wednesday?? I think so because Thursday LE came out and said this was now a homocide and there were multiple persons of interest.

I have to disagree with you about Ron not pointing at Joe. While the Cobra tapes may be taboo - the truth is those are Ron's own words - Ron is speaking and no one made him say the things he did - he said it. He lied that Joe told him about the "good place to dispose of a body". On the Cobra tapes Ron admits - he wasn't there - he got this from Tommy of all people. Ron was willing to break Joe's hands and take an assault charge no big deal. He also admits about the gun issue although I believe he was lying. Ron has done plenty of accusing - just not in the press. He has tried to put up a good front to the press but out of that light he has shown himself to be equally talented to Misty when if comes to telling windys.[/QUOTE]

Hi 1Chump, how do you know the media has been trying to get this tape for weeks? Did a certain outlet request it but was formally denied? TIA

This was supposed to be the tape that had the "smoking gun" that led LE to search the dock. When Gma Flo was giving interviews, every story said that they had requested the tape but LE was not releasing it. Since then, I have read at a few places that they stated that they were still trying to get the tape.

:waitasec: I thought that Sheriff Hardy stated at the Press Conference when the media asked about the jailhouse phone call(s) that he was NOT releasing the tape at this time.

-----

These phone calls were from St. Johns County so Hardy would have no say over whether they are released or not. David Shoar is the Sheriff in St. Johns County and would be the one to have say over the release of the tapes.

I wonder what Misty's call that night sounded like?!

Ahem, hint hint, to the powers that be...

Please forgive me for the long post, trying to go back to compare what Hollars said Tommy told her to what is being said on this audio.

I heard the uncut version of the call, yet I never heard Tommy say most of what Flo said early on. I wonder if there is another tape or if Grandma was reporting what she actually heard from Misty or even one of the SIL (Chelsea or Lindsey). Here are a few of the versions that Grandma Hollars shared that I in no way heard Tommy say this things to her as she first claimed. She first claimed that he was crying, the he told her the Joe killed Haleigh, yet she was the one that asked him and he just ended up agreeing and the more she pressured him about the Ronald theory that is when Tommy got pist. She had told Tommy that she heard that Haleigh OD'd on pills and that Ron asked Tommy and Misty to dispose of the body. That is when he started going along with the Joe story. At first I felt like he was going to say something else, but grandma jumped the gun and "Told Him Is It The Same Thing Misty Said?"...How would Tommy know what all Misty said to start with?

Hollars said she was tired of not knowing the truth, and Croslin Jr. wanted to get it off his chest. "I told him I know you failed your lie detector test," she said. He said they went looking for a machine gun they were going to steal but learned it was gone, she said.

Croslin Jr., told his grandmother they left but that Overstreet, went back later.

Overstreet put a knife to Misty Croslin's throat and took HaLeigh, Hollars said she was told. "If she talked, he would kill her," Hollars said of Misty.

Hollars said, “Tommy” Croslin Jr., called from jail saying his cousin entered the Satsuma trailer with a knife that night in February 2009 and left with 5-year-old Haleigh. Overstreet took Haleigh out of the Satsuma trailer where she lived after he was unable to find a machine gun the two men were going to steal. Overstreet put a knife to the throat of Misty Croslin and took Haleigh, Hollars said she was told. “If she talked, he would kill her,”

Hollars said the wife of another Croslin sibling who told her where to search in the waterway and woods off County Road 309 about five miles from where Haleigh was last seen in Satsuma.

Hollars said Croslin Jr., who was crying as he told the story, said he didn't know what happened to Haleigh after she disappeared.

April 20, 2010 JVM: Misty`s Grandmother Opens Up about Haleigh`s Fate http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1004/20/ijvm.01.html

FLORA HOLLARS, MISTY`S GRANDMOTHER: I heard she got a hold of one of Ron`s pills and swallowed it and O.D.`d on it. Misty supposedly hit her on the back of the head, and Joe supposedly raped her. Tied Haleigh with a yellow rope, and tied a brick or block to the rope and dropped her into the St. John`s River.

HOLLARS: Tied Haleigh up with a yellow rope and tied a brick or block to the rope and dropped her into the St. John`s River.

She was crying. And I told her, I said, "Baby, don`t cry. This is something you should have said a long time ago."

She says, "But Nanny, I was scared."

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Funny how a brick figures into so many of the stories that have come out of this.

Flora also talked to Misty`s brother Tommy. She says she broke Tommy, adding she, Flora, is the tipster that sent police to that dock. Now she is ordering granddaughter Misty to completely come clean.

HOLLARS: I`ve heard two different details. I heard that she got a hold of one of Ron`s pills and swallowed it and O.D.`d on it. And then I heard that Misty supposedly hit her on the back of the head and Joe supposedly raped her and then got rid of the body.

HOLLARS: When Tommy called me, he was sort of whimpering like crying. I told him, I said, "You failed your lie detector test, didn`t you?"

And he says, "Yes, Nanny, I did."

I said, "OK, it`s time to come clean now. I want you to tell me if what`s in my heart is what is true."

He said, "Nanny, what do you have -- who do you think done it?"

I said, "I think Joe done it."

He says, "Yes, Nanny, Joe did do it." And then he started crying, and we started talking about his children and his wife.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Then Misty calls, what, about 15 minutes later?

HOLLARS: Uh-huh. And I told her exactly what Tommy had told me. And she started crying and saying, "Nanny, see, I`ve told you all along that Joe had something to do with this. I knew he did, I knew he did."

And then she called me on Monday to let me know that Tommy and Joe had wrapped Misty in -- I mean wrapped Haleigh in a yellow rope and tied a brick to it and throwed her off the dock in the St. John`s River.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: OK. So if I understand you correctly, Tommy called and pointed the finger at Joe, but did not implicate himself.

HOLLARS: No.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Then Misty calls and implicates both of her cousins - - her brother Tommy and her cousin Joe.

HOLLARS: Yes, she did.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Do you think Ron Cummings, Haleigh`s dad, is completely innocent and has nothing to do with any of this? Or does he know more than he`s saying?
HOLLARS: No, ma`am, I think he knows more than what he`s saying.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: Flo, those are three very different scenarios. Where did you hear each of those stories, and which one do you believe?

HOLLARS: I believe the one that Misty told me, that they tied her up in a rope and dropped her in the river. I just don`t know whether they raped her or not. But I sort of believe that they did. I just hope and pray that the child was already dead before she hit that water.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: But how do you know that, based on what Tommy told you on the phone? I mean, did Tommy tell you how the child -- if, in fact, this is what happened, got from the trailer to the river and what happened in between the time that the child left the trailer and got to the river, and who took the child from the trailer to the river?

HOLLARS: No, ma`am. All Tommy told me was that Joe did it.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: And you didn`t ask any follow-up questions?

HOLLARS: Yes, I asked follow-up questions, but he didn`t answer any of the rest of them. He was crying too hard, so he started talking about his kids and his wife.

BROOKS: Ms. Hollars, just a little while ago you said that they went over to Ronald`s house looking for his machine gun. It had been reported earlier that apparently he had a .38 revolver. Does he have a machine gun in that house?

HOLLARS: That -- Misty said that he had a machine gun there, but he had turned it and put it somewheres else.

HOLLARS: She has mailed letters to her mother mainly to be sent -- put in another envelope and be sent to Ron under her mother`s name. And I told her mother, I says, "You better not do it because you`re sticking your foot in too deep." And she didn`t do it.

How Did Haleigh Die? Aired April 23, 2010
http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1004/23/ijvm.01.html

HOLLARS: First thing that I was told was that Joe had killed her. I was told that Misty had knocked her in the head and killed her and that Joe and Tommy got rid of her.
Misty had been out on a drug binge for three days. Her and Ron had fought that day. And she told him she didn`t want to baby-sit. And he told her, "Yes, you are going to baby-sit." And he left the kids there with her, and she was still strung out.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So you also think the conspiracy extends to Ron. You think it`s four people involved in the conspiracy?

HOLLARS: Yes, ma`am, I do.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So, Jim, as Tommy Croslin`s attorney, what do you think of all her stories and the inconsistencies in those stories?

WERTER: I would have to call her a defense attorney`s field day for cross-examination. She told so many different stories.

But I can tell you this. I had a discussion with Tommy twice, and when he called to get in touch with myself and Steve Brown, he did not talk to Flo Hollars about what happened that night. He simply told her to get a hold of Lindsay, to get a hold of me, that he wanted to talk to Steve and myself. So if you put her on the stand...

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So are you saying that Tommy -- are you saying that - - she`s saying Tommy called her, and Tommy said Joe did it. Can you at least tell us whether your client is denying that?

WERTER: Oh, yes. Flat out, he is denying that. He did not discuss the case with Flo Hollars, and that was on Sunday night. Flo, from my understanding, got a hold of Lindsay, Tommy`s wife. Lindsay got a hold of me, and then we discussed everything on Monday morning.

GRACE: Did Tommy Croslin call you from behind bars? And if so, what did he say?

HOLLARS: He told me he was crying. And he says, Nanny, I`ve got to break down. I`ve got to tell somebody. And I told him, I says, Tommy, I know in my heart exactly what you`re fixing to say. He says, Nanny, what do you mean? I said, Are you going to tell me that Joe did this? He says, Yes, Nanny, Joe did.

GRACE: With us is Flora Hollars.

Ms. Hollars, you have heard now three different versions of what happened the night Haleigh went missing. What is the most recent version you have been told?

HOLLARS: What I was told by Misty this morning was that Tommy and Joe took Haleigh and wrapped a yellow rope around her and carried her to the dock and tied a brick around the bottom -- the other end of the rope and throwed her into the river. Now, that come from Misty`s mouth into my ear.

GRACE: This morning?

HOLLARS: Yes, ma`am.

GRACE: Could I ask you why they would have done that? Joe Overstreet and Tommy Croslin, why they would have done that? Had they allegedly molested Haleigh?

HOLLARS: That I don`t know.

GRACE: Why would they just throw her in the water?

HOLLARS: I don`t know. (INAUDIBLE) continue to talk to Misty, she`s going to tell me.

GRACE: OK. What is the second version you were told about Haleigh`s death?

HOLLARS: I was told that Misty had knocked her in the head and killed her and that Joe and Tommy got rid of her.
GRACE: Knocked her in the head with what, a cinderblock?

HOLLARS: No, just a piece of wood or something, is the way that it was put to me. But I didn`t believe that when I heard it.

GRACE: Who told you that?

HOLLARS: It come from one of them in Florida, is all I can say.

GRACE: Did they say why Misty would have struck 5-year-old Haleigh?

HOLLARS: No, they didn`t.

GRACE: OK. Ms. Hollars...

HOLLARS: (INAUDIBLE) overdose.

GRACE: What was the first story you were told about Haleigh`s death?

HOLLARS: First thing that I was told was that Joe had killed her. That was the first words that I was told.

GRACE: Why was -- why did he kill her in the first version?

HOLLARS: That I don`t have any idea. I don`t even know whether she was dead when she hit the water or not.

GRACE: Who told you the first version?

HOLLARS: Oh, that may have came from Misty. I`m not sure.

GRACE: And my question regarding the three versions you`ve been told -- who knows if any of them are true -- where was Croslin?
HOLLARS: She didn`t tell me that.

GRACE: She just said that Joe Overstreet killed-- killed Haleigh?

HOLLARS: He and Tommy -- she said Joe Overstreet and Tommy wrapped the rope around Haleigh and carried her to the dock at the St. John`s River and put a block around the other end of the rope and throwed her in the river.
GRACE: But what, Ms. Hollars, could be their possible motivation for killing a 5-year-old girl?

HOLLARS: That`s something that I don`t know! There`s three grandkids of mine that`s involved in this, and I don`t know why! But I`d sure like to know why. They have no remorse or something. But nobody decided to say anything until I broke Tommy on the phone Sunday. And yes, I`m the one that called the detectives. And yes, I`m the one that sent them to the river!

GRACE: Ms. Hollars, when Tommy Croslin calls you from the jail crying, what did he say happened?

HOLLARS: He was crying. And I told him, I said, You failed your lie detector test, didn`t you, Tommy? He says, Yes, I did. And I told him, I says, Now it`s time for it to come to a head. I want to know right now. In my heart, I already know. I said, Did Joe do this? He says, Yes, Nanny, Joe did. But he never implicated himself at that time. Misty`s the one that implicated Joe and Tommy.

GRACE: Did Tommy Croslin...

HOLLARS: Misty is coming clean.

GRACE: Did Tommy Croslin tell you what happened, other than he just killed her?

HOLLARS: That`s all he said.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

TOMMY CROSLIN: I need her to get my lawyer down here. It`s very important.

FLORA HOLLARS: What`s the number, baby, 904? Hey, Lindsay, I`ve got Tommy on the other line. What is it you want me to tell her?

T. CROSLIN: Tell her to get my lawyer down here. It`s very important. I`ve got to do something. It needs to be done. It should have been done already.

HOLLARS: Get the lawyer down there. It`s very important. Do what, baby?

T. CROSLIN: Tell her I got to do something.

HOLLARS: Do something.

T. CROSLIN: Should have been done already.

HOLLARS: Is it the story that Misty`s saying?

T. CROSLIN: Yes, but it -- yes, that`s it.

HOLLARS: Joe?

T. CROSLIN: Yes.

HOLLARS: OK. That`s what I`ve been thinking all along.

HOLLARS: Do you know, Tommy?

T. CROSLIN: What`s that?

HOLLARS: Do you know?

T. CROSLIN: All I know is he`s got to pay. He can`t get to none of us so it don`t matter.

HOLLARS: He`s got to pay and he can`t get to none of ya`ll so it don`t matter. But get his lawyer there.

T. CROSLIN: Tell her I love her. Tell her to come see me when she can.

T. CROSLIN: Tell her I`ve got to do something I should have done awhile ago.

HOLLARS: Do what, baby?

T. CROSLIN: Tell her I have to do something that I should have done a long time ago.

HOLLARS: Said he`s got to do something that he should have done a long time ago, and I don`t want to hear the answer to it because I already know it.

T. CROSLIN: I`m just, just scared. I don`t want no one to hurt my kids.

HOLLARS: I know it, I know it. Oh, my God.

T. CROSLIN: He`s (EXPLETIVE DELETED) crazy.

HOLLARS: Yes.

T. CROSLIN: He tried to kill all of us. Don`t be telling them until they get his (EXPLETIVE DELETED), because they`re going to get his (EXPLETIVE DELETED).

HOLLARS: OK.

T. CROSLIN: We`ve got people doing that. I don`t want him getting my kids.

Werter said that he released the tape to show that Tommy never discussed the details with Gma Flo. The tapes does show that.

I don't think there are any other tapes with Gma. I think Gma Flo's sources dried up after she went on tv and told just about every family secret.

I did not hear any graphics of what happen in that phone call. Not the way granny was talking about what happen all over the media. It could be that Tommy has told LE a completely different story than what is floating around. I didn't hear Tommy mention anything about Joe taking Haleigh and throwing her in the river, the cinder block story, the molestation accusation, or the story about Joe putting a knife/gun to me Misty in that phone call.

I heard grandma bring up Joe first and Tommy almost said something but didn't. He went along with it. Grandma told Tommy..Is it what Misty told me? How would Tommy know what Misty told grandma? IMO, they are all getting letters to each other behind bars, but I don't feel that Tommy really knew what version grandma what talking about. Heck, Misty has lied so much.
Maybe this is not the call that the real details were talked about?

:waitasec: Maybe that is why LE released the call and then Werter released it. Remember LE said there are calls that were not going to be released. I don't think this is the call that LE is holding back. Just a thought.

Transcription of 4-11-2010 phone call btwn Tommy Croslin and Flora Hollars(Grandma)

First I want to say Thank You for the transcript! :blowkiss:

Werter said that he released the tape to show that Tommy never discussed the details with Grandma Flo Hollars. And if you listen Tommy's didn't discus any details.
I want to point out a few things. Again, no mention of Tommy flat out saying that Joe killed Haleigh, that Joe dumped her in the St.John's River, that Joe Molested Haleigh, that a yellow rope and cinder block was used to dump Haleigh in the river, or that Joe had Misty at gun point.

Grandma Hollars also said that Tommy was crying really hard and that he asked who do you think done it. Tommy did not mention any of the above, it was Hollars, Tommy did not sound like he was crying really hard. At one point Grandma sounded like she was crying but that only lasted a few seconds. Below is part of what Tommy said. (BBM)

TC: All I know is he has got to pay & he can't get to none of us so it don't matter (The only person that could not get to any of them right now would be someone that is behind bars IMO. Joe could come to FL if he wanted to hurt any of them. Misty did not seem to be afraid of Joe when she was hanging flyer's with him right before he had to go back to TN. He had planned the trip and they had already set a date to go back before Haleigh went missing.)
FH: Is it that story that Misty's saying?

TC: Yea, but yea that's it (But what? I wonder what the but is about?)
FH: Joe (Grandma is the one who starts out pointing the finger at Joe in the conversation.)
TC: Yep! (Tommy agrees with grandma, he just wants his lawyer)

(Grandma Hollars tells Tommy another version of what happen.)

FH: Let me tell you what I was told, I was told that Ron came home that Haleigh had found 1 of Ron's pills and took it and was dead and asked you to come up there to help Misty clean the house while he disposed of Haleigh.
TC: That's BS! ( Why would Tommy be so irate over a lie? If he fears Joe so much he would of shown anger and fear when Grandma lead the conversation with Joe did it. You would think that Tommy knowing he is being recorded would of not said "ANYONES" name. JMO)TC: That's BS!

FH: OK, I'm glad your telling me the truth, I been wanting to know, but I've knowed it, all this time I've knowed it in my heart
TC: he's got to pay
FH:(to LC) Lindsy get his lawyer there as soon as possible

TC: Tell her I love her

TC: Y'all don't say nothing to nobody right now

TC: His @zz is crazy. He tried to get all of us. Don't say nothing til they get his @zz and they're gonna get his @zz. He can't get to my kids. (IMO, Tommy is not afraid of his cousin Joe he is free. Only person that could not get to his kids IMO would be someone that he knows is behind bars that will not be out any time soon.)

(Again, Joe is free, if he wanted to get to Tommy's family he could. Tommy says he is crazy, yet if we compare Ronald to Joe, IMO the one to fear would be Ronald. Ronald made threats to kill who ever was responsible, made threats to breaks Joe's hands if he stole from him (sorry don't have the link, it's in the Cobra audios down stairs I think.), Ronald is the one that likes to play Russian Roulette, who abused the females in his life and IMO abused his children. I would believe that Tommy and Misty are afraid of Ronald and not Joe. JMO. Joe has guns on his my-space and seems to be an immature 20yr old and maybe he talks a lot of smack, but look at his size compared to Ronald. Also, Misty has been singing this same tune since Haleigh went missing, if true that Joe killed Haleigh wouldn't Ronald of gone after Joe? He said he would kill the person responsible if he found them before LE. Yet, Misty has pointed the finger at him since the get go and Ronald did nothing.)

What Grandma was claiming she was told before the audio was released.
FLORA HOLLARS: I heard she got a hold of one of Ron`s pills and swallowed it and O.D.`d on it. Misty supposedly hit her on the back of the head, and Joe supposedly raped her. Tied Haleigh with a yellow rope, and tied a brick or block to the rope and dropped her into the St. John`s River.
He said, "Nanny, what do you have -- who do you think done it?"

I said, "I think Joe done it."

He was crying too hard, so he started talking about his kids and his wife.

FLORA HOLLARS: Haleigh got a hold of one of Ron`s pills and swallowed it and O.D.`d on it. And then I heard that Misty supposedly hit her on the back of the head and Joe supposedly raped her and then got rid of the body.

Transcription of 4-11-2010 phone call btwn Tommy Croslin and Flora Hollars(Grandma)
I'll post the remainder of the call transcribed later today. But this 1st half I posted has the major portion thats of importance, but will post the remainder later today.

Does anyone remember the date of the jail house phone call with Lindsy and Tommy where he is saying to her, "I think it was what Ron told us" and goes on to say that he (Tommy) believes Haleigh was taken by the drug dealers and now they can't return her. Now we have this call to GMH and him all crying and saying it was Joe. No wonder Lindsey was upset, he had been telling her that he believed Ron's story, unless that was for LE benefit and the media, as he knew the tapes would be released. So I don't buy for a minute that Joe did this.

Not to mention his MO is ...Never allow the left hand any knowledge of what the right hand is doing.. JMO

While this is true, in the first tapes (if they are numbered chronologically, he is slow to admit Joe is involved. That's what makes it more intriguing to me. And it's like he doesn't want LE to make the Joe connection. Why is that? Also, Tommy may have had his own reasons for relating the alligator story to Ron.

The phone call between GGMH and Tommy is interesting to me for one reason only. It shows how easy it is for Tommy to co-ordinate with Misty, if needs be. Lindsy was on another phone during Tommy's convo with GGMH. Misty could equally have been on another phone at any time, just listening to GGMH repeating what Tommy was saying aloud for Misty to hear. Or vice versa.

Lindsy was on another phone during Tommy's convo with GGMH. Misty could equally have been on another phone at any time, just listening to GGMH repeating what Tommy was saying aloud for Misty to hear. Or vice versa.

Yes, but LE has recordings of all their phone calls, recordings of all their visits, copies of all their mail going in and out. Everything is recorded. They have complete records of all communication to and from both Tommy and Misty.

And if I could talk to Misty and Tommy, I'd tell them, "Lookyhere, I know it totally goes against your deepest values and that it goes against the way you were raised, but if the part about Joe doing it true, you've got to tell the whole truth about everything, and if the details you tell and match what the other one tells, you will probably get a much, much lighter sentence."

But that would be like telling two hardcore Mormons, "Look, you've got to tell nothing but lies and no truth." You might even get the Mormons to tell nothing but lies before you convinced Misty and Tommy to tell the truth.

The only reason Misty is in jail right is because she believes lying is a best policy, and this is probably because she is such a great liar and her ability to lie has served her well--before now. I've got my doubts about whether Misty failed any lie detector test because it's people like Misty who fool lie detector tests.

LE should know of any coordination that took place since January. What's been passed along from Granny Hollars from one to the other, LE knows about this. It's recorded and LE is listening. The only way I know that they could coordinate without LE having a record of it would be through watching Nancy Grace. And LE probably doesn't let them watch Nancy Grace.

This is true.

One thing I noticed from these transcripts is Tommy's lack of specifics regarding what happened to Haleigh. I would love to hear Misty's conversation with Grandma Flo. According to Grandma Flo, she called Grandma Sykes at MC's request to tell her what was going on. If MC didn't give GMF the LOCATION, how did GMS and TN know WHERE to search the day before investigators conducted their massive search of the dock and surrounding area? Could this have been redacted from TC's tape? Or will we hear that particular detail from MC?
