Everyone in this gang would own a large cooler, no doubt. In fact everyone probably keeps one in their vehicle. Just seems to fit their life style...you know a place to keep their brew.

Somebody ought to haul the Anthony's sonar-equipped bass boat up there. Haven't heard about them using it yet to locate missing people. This would be a good time to offer it up.

I hope and pray they find this child and the person or persons responsible .

Does anyone know anything about this river.? It looks to me like it has a noticable current and i was wondering how anything could be located in such a large moving body of water., especially a year later.?

This looks to me like a monumental task. Godspeed to the searchers.......

I don't know why but I tuned into JVM and NG last night and saw they had a break in HaLeigh's location. Seems Tommy gave the location, they had all HaLeigh's family come down to the stationshouse and seen left in tears. Seems they were briefed on HaLeigh now being a homicide..Then I tuned into NG and saw they brought up a "cooler", will stay the night and brought in some huge spot lights...Seems MC may have been telling them the entire time about cousin JO and TommyC...I am so angry they all left HaLeigh out there for 14 months and they knew all along where this precious child was. I am angry as heck and I do hope this leads to many arrests with nothing less than a DP case hanging over whoever is responsible for this...Poor Haleigh...

GRACE: Sources telling us tonight that this has officially, as of today, turned into a homicide investigation. As we go to air, at this moment, we are showing you live photos and live video. The St. John`s River and a densely wooded area about two miles south of where Haleigh disappeared, her home, is now being combed not only by cadaver dogs -- there you are seeing the photo of an ice cooler, a blue ice cooler being hauled up out of the St. John`s River -- being combed by cadaver dogs, scuba divers, helicopters, search teams, all of this happening in the last couple of hours, in the last 10 to 12 hours. We find out Misty Croslin rousted out of her private jail cell and grilled again, in fact, taken back to Putnam County to be questioned and then taken back to her jail cell. Then, suddenly, everyone converges at the St. John`s River.

Straight out to Art Harris, investigative journalist. Art, what do you know?

ART HARRIS, INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST: Nancy, I can tell you that the break in this case, as unlikely as it sounds, came from Misty`s brother, Tommy Croslin, and that in an interview that he had with a retired FBI agent, Steve Brown (ph), supposedly an investigator for his lawyer -- Brown would not comment -- but that he told him that is where they should look and that Tommy led detectives in the last couple of days to this spot on the river with Steve Brown and said that`s where they needed to go look, that this is where her body had been dumped.

He suddenly has confirmed, it looks like, the story that Misty Croslin, his sister, has been telling others in two letters from jail, claiming cousin Joe from Tennessee came into the trailer that night, tried to steal a gun from her then boyfriend, now husband -- or now ex-husband Ronald Cummings, couldn`t find, it, got mad, took Haleigh, that Tommy left and Joe left with Haleigh. Joe has denied any involvement. He has a lawyer. He`s talked to investigators a couple of times.

But back to the river bank. It was Tommy who flunked a polygraph in the last few days, my sources tell me, a private polygraph, and he decided finally to come clean. I talked to his grandmother in Tennessee today, Nancy, and she said to me that Tommy was on the phone with her and said -- she said he said, I`m just -- I can`t keep this to myself any longer. Her name is Flora Holler. She said to me, Well, I asked him, Did Joe do it? And Tommy said yes.

Misty's brother sent them after a cooler...that is probably the cooler.

Drugs are NOT a victimless crime!

What ever it is, it looks heavy. Sort of looks like a large cement block.

I think I heard that TN will speak......Brown said they are looking for 2 items....he does not think they will find the body....says an arrest is coming....

I don't know if any of you heard about the Anne Marie Fahey murder--killed by Tom Capano--a former state prosecuter--just made me think a cooler theory is possible...but this was an unbelievable case...

On November 8, 1997, Gerry Capano was interviewed by detectives and told them that Thomas had asked for the boat and then admitted to Gerry that he had murdered someone who was attempting to extort him. They went to Stone Harbor, New Jersey, with a large cooler that contained Fahey's body. As this type of cooler is frequently used by fishermen, it was not considered suspicious.

The Capanos went 62 miles (100 km) out to sea and pushed the cooler overboard. However, it floated, even after they shot the cooler. Thomas retrieved the cooler, took the body out, and wrapped the anchor chains around it. Gerry then was asked to help dispose of a blood-stained sofa and carpet in a dumpster, which was managed by another brother, Louis. Subsequently, Thomas ordered Louis to empty the dumpsters; Louis had them emptied out of their regular schedule.

The cooler was found on July 4, 1996, by fisherman Jay Chubb.

I do know that story. I watched the movie and read the book. Unbelievable case but yes the cooler was found after so much time had gone by. Its possible for sure. I just hope that this poor baby is found and some closure can come.

I remember that case, HH. It's one of several I've read about over the years where a cooler holding a corpse would not stay submerged.

ot--but I fish about 60 miles from there and that story flipped me out...but had that fisherman not found the cooler--Capano would be a free man. We need a miracle like that for Haleigh and its coming I hope for her family's peace of mind. The not knowing would kill me. JMO

The woman, who did not want to be named but said she has lived in the area about two years, said officers have gone door-to-door in the neighborhood, getting residents' names and asking if they have seen a newer model, gray van in the area.

Authorities in Tennessee Question Misty Croslin's Relative About Haleigh Cummings' Disappearance
Patricia Jimenez Jackelyn Barnard Created: 4/14/2010 4:34:08 AM Updated: 4/14/2010 8:56:58 AM

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Authorities have interviewed another one of Misty Croslin's relatives in reference to Haleigh Cummings' disappearance.

Croslin's cousin, Joe Overstreet, 20, of Nashville, Tenn., was interviewed late Tuesday night.

Haleigh Cummings, 5, disappeared from her Satsuma home in Feb. 2009 while in the care of her former stepmother, Croslin. The case has never been solved. Tuesday, officials pursuing a new tip, searched part of the St. Johns River a few miles from the home.

Overstreet has been interviewed by police before, but his mother, who said she also is Croslin's aunt, said Tuesday afternoon her family had not heard from police in months.

It's been six months since police contacted her son. "My son is at home, not doing anything, not bothering anyone and people continue to bother him."

But Tuesday night around 11:30, after Overstreet spent the evening with family and friends, he talked with his attorney Shawn Sirgo outside his home for 20 minutes, then the two left in his attorney's car.

They arrived at the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation in Nashville where Overstreet and his attorney were escorted inside. Less than 45 minutes later, Overstreet was on his way home.

LOL...sorry it looks like I posted my last two post in the wrong thread.... Oh well I guess it doesnt hurt ...Sorry :)

based on the time Haleigh was last seen by an independent witness and the calls were made around her disappearance, would there have been time to put her in a container, cover her with quick set concrete and dump her without junior having been woken up to go along for the ride?

I think the bricks laying around the house outside, IIRC, might have been used as weights, but what kept the top of the container on while it expanded etc with her decomp :(? What if the gray stuff is duct tape?
