Well unfortunately I have smelled the smell and i can assure you its not one u forget or confuse with a dead animal that and gut instinct, sorry if ot

Thanks for the welcome :D

from Bonnie Scotland x

Apparently it is OT

You're not alone, strawberry. So many threads/subjects are intersecting lately, it is hard to tell which one you are on sometimes. lol

Can someone start a new thread so we can continue to discuss Cindy's 911 statement "It smells like there's been a dead body in the car!" and the relevance of this statement to whether they should have known or did secretly know that she had done something bad to Caylee. Seems like we keep circling around that...her 911 statement is like one of the most defining moments of this case IMO. ;)

I've been meaning to say WELCOME LindseyLou! for a couple of days, so before I go any further WELCOME to WS! :)

I think you are on the right thread, Lindsey to discuss Cindy's 911 statement, even her infamous "It smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car!" quote. It started to venture OT when the smell of human decomp was compared to animal (or anything else). I looked for that thread to bump, but the only one I saw was already closed. I think as long as we stay on topic with the 911 call and Cindy's direct quote, we are gonna be okay. HTH

Thanks!! I am so glad I joined so I can finally "pipe in" :)
I don't mind going OT if necessary since there can't be a thread posted for every single topic or question. I’m late to the game, but I’ve been following the Caylee disappearance since day one.

I’ve been listening to CA and LA’s deposition interviews in the ZFG defamation suit all day while I’m at work and my first reaction are:

Lee Anthony – The look he gave when he said at the beginning that “at this point I believe everything Casey has told me” was the look of “I know it sounds ridiculous but I am obliged to stand by my family no matter how ridiculous it sounds”

I posted this earlier on the other thread: with regard to the "car smells like a damn dead body" 911 call and watching LA's police interview - hearing him describe the horrible smell when he pulled up and smelled his sister's car for the first time where he said "the horrible smell that I had just smelled for the first time" and "it hits you like a wave, whatever it was was very potent"

DOES ANYONE ELSE GET CHILLS TO THINK THAT HE WAS SMELLING THE DECOMPOSING SMELL OF HIS NIECE??? THAT JUST TOTALLY CREEPS ME OUT! ughh.... That must be horrible for them to have to live with. :-(

Cindy Anthony – She was so evasive during the deposition that I don’t really believe we learned anything new other than what her new cover-ups are a year after her first police interviews. She has truly taken a “rose colored glasses” position now. At a certain point, I was like you have got to be kidding me with how ridiculous her explanations and excuses are for what stories her daughter came up with! So I guess I take that back, we did learn that CA is even more deluded than we all originally thought.

Agree with the majority of your post but I do not think for one second that Cindy has ever been deluded. She has suspected, then known for sure since very early on that Casey did kill Caylee. She is very similar to Casey, she lies with ease and will say whatever is expedient in order to get her own way.
This whole case has been about Casey's contempt and loathing for her from day One..

True...Is there a word for someone who lies and believes their own lies? LOL

...and for someone who supposedly gave Casey such a hard time ALL the time...so much so that Casey resented her...she sure is sticking by Casey now. I seriously doubt that Casey even notices this either since she is so self involved.

In TWA's example she is saying that RH is commenting on the tapes coming into trial and that it was an excited utterance by legal definition. RH is using his professional experience to make that determination. His "opinion" has a basis in law and his understanding of the law.

As to your example of RH saying it's an accident. That is his opinion based on speculation, and not based on the knowledge of his profession or evidence. His speculation of it being an accident holds no more weight then my speculation that the Chupacabra did it.

D^mn Chupacrabas!! They mess EVERYTHING up!!

First - I wanna thank all the members posting on this thread for maintaining the spirited discussion w/o attacking each other. Way to show us how its done. :thumb:

Second - I wanna comment on a minor point in the following w/ BBM:

IMHO, as of the morning of 7/3, Cindy started stepping up her game to locate Casey. On that day Cindy initiated a on & off series of calls w/ Ryan which are shown on her cell records and corroborated by Ryan's statement to LE. After returning from the Universal goose-chase that afternoon (at what appears to be her discovery of Caylee's missing Teddy Bear) Cindy, w/ Lee's help, appeared to discover something on Casey's MySpace page regarding Fusian (resulting in Casey later deleting content in the first of two major content deletion campaigns) and called Fusian twice. Unsuccessful, Cindy then attempted to reach Caylee's babysitter(s)...first Brittany S. - whose number Casey had given her as related-to-ZFG - and second Lauren C. a real, former babysitter. THEN Cindy dispatched Lee to find Casey and he took up the nightclub chase caper. See the "Cindy Attempted to Contact ZFG" thread for the details.

And, IMHO, while Cindy was insistent on Casey taking her to SEE Caylee, 7/15,...and I agree the smell prolly had some measure of influence on her actions...it was the sheer discovery that the Pontiac had been IN IMPOUND and IN ORLANDO for the period during which Casey had been insisting she & Caylee were in Jacksonville, and, that the Pontiac still had Caylee's carseat in it for this time period...it was the sum of all of these factors, and not the smell alone, IMHO, that compelled Cindy to lay eyes on Casey 7/15.

So....IMHO, while Cindy would later say that there were no red flags, despite her 'my caylee is missing' MySpace entry - quite to the contrary - Cindy was escalating her efforts to locate Casey during the 31 days long before the Pontiac smell became a factor. The smell was one of many factors.

HTH.
Perhaps just slightly OT...can you please direct me to the info about the teddy bear? This has been going on too long..........
TIA

So did the defense. IMO See defense motion. It is my opinion that both sides have compelling arguments. We will have to see what the Judge decides.

An excited utterance relies on new information.IMO The smell of a dead body in the trunk, was not new information.IMO It sounds to me like it was speculation information... Her actions were that of an experienced RN that knew the smell of human decomposition and that is why she just went to work instead of calling 911. IMO If it really smelled like a dead body in the trunk, she would have called 911 immediatley. IMO We will just have to agree to disagree on that part and wait for the Judge.

One side is following the law and direct case law, the other side is trying to make case law fit the situation and ignoring the statute. Agree to disagree, I'll meet ya back here when your honor hands down the decision.:innocent:

Very interesting and thank you. Charles C said a lot of them were standing there when Cindy returned and she said the car smelled like a dead body. I wonder who these other people are that were standing there.

Charles C also said he heard about the argument on fathers day from Debbie B, but in Debbie B's interview, she said she heard it on Tv. That she never heard it otherwise. The interviews being in late November, I am sure they were hearing a lot of story's thru the media. IMO Are there other interviews of Ca coworkers? I would like to add, that Debbie B said that Ca told her right there in the hallway that the car was a mess and the carseat was there and the baby clothes were there.. She never mentioned anything about a smell of a dead body in that interview. IMO

Debbie P interview is missing, or hasn't been released yet. CA made a call to her the evening of July 15. It is noted in the summary OCSO released, but not the interview itself. Me wants to read this one........ suspect it has some good info in it about CA.

Countzero just posted information about another interview that has yet to be released.

Who is Debbie P? Not mentioned in either Charles c or Debbie b interview. Which summary is that one? thanks

With all due respect to your post there is also the incident on June 24th with GA. No matter what GA stated about not smelling anything in the trunk of ICA car I have smelled human decomposition, and if Caylee was in that trunk GA smelled it. Now I know GA is not CA, but he is responsible for not calling LE about the incident. As for the "My Space" entry by CA she stated that LA helped her start that page, so if CA thought "Caylee was missing" why didn't she contact LE about her missing grandchild. Another mistake by CA was not going to LE to report ICA stole money, and her car. LE would have put out an alert for that car just like they do when any car is stolen. CA has excuse after excuse why she ignored all the red flags that were flying high when Caylee was missing. IMO

Okay, it is my opinion that in an emotional world, she did owe her mother and explanation, but in a legal world she did not. IMO The problem is, is that her mother was using the legal world (stolen car, stolen money), to get her explanation out of her daughter. IMO It is also my opinion that it was LA that got Kc to admit to the 31 days, and not Ca. IMO Ca's action of anger , frustration, reaction, thought provoking threats did not work. IMO How do we know Kc wasn't trying to explain this to Ca all along? That Ca just would not listen, where La would? IMO From what I have seen, visitor video's and such, Ca is not a good listener. IMO Some kids just can not communicate with their parents. IMO

If CA was reporting her daughter to LE on July 15th about stealing money, and a stolen car she could have done that after 24 hours after ICA and Caylee left her home. CA said, she was never away from Caylee for more than a day. The first two 911 calls never mention the smell in the trunk, so why didn't CA go to LE on those charges earlier?

BBM-This tactic reaches far far far beyond this case, and it's shameful. I want to see this attempt to subvert the true and intended purpose of our justice system stopped as badly as I want to see a conviction in this case.

ETA: MOO! I would be glad to define what I know to be the true and intended purpose of our justice system on the appropriate thread (prolly downstairs in the lot or in the political realm!)

In my opinion it is because she was using the car to get the police to take her seriously. The car was not stolen at all.IMO There was plenty of time here for reflective thought. IMO She was angry that she had to pay several hundred dollars to get that car out. IMO

I read those interviews by the coworkers. One mentions that Ca said it smelled like a dead body, the other mentions that Ca said the car smelled bad, the other one makes no mention of it at all. I have not seen an interview of Debbie P, but have read the ocso report by Yuri M. IIRC, Charles c mentions that we were all standing there by the door when Ca came back and she said the car smelled like a dead body, however, those other people do not back up his story. IMO
