Love to have been a fly on the wall when the court staff talked at the water cooler about this hearing. Betcha they were saying much the same as we have been.

I really have sympathy for them that they had to work later than usual because of JB. JB's ego was shot down more than a few pegs on the ladder.

I personally fear that JB will just write a lot of 'fluff' ... both because he doesn't know yet what his experts will testify towards and, to obfuscate the defense strategy (if any). JB is not going to spill the beans (if known) and will play the same old same old games but just academically expand on what a DNA expert does, etc.

These summary reports will be like a Seinfeld episode IMO, a report about nothing!!

I agree.... but after today, I think he better be very careful if he really wants to use them.

O/T: Brittany Mae Smith safely located; Jeff Easley in custody!!!

ETA: This truly is the day of Christmas miracles!!

AZ - THANK YOU FOR THIS AND ALWAYS BEING HERE FOR US!
So, if the experts were to write a report at JB request - then he could just submit them?
Also, did the judge say that all experts (either side) whom there was not a report for - this was required? Spell it out for me - it is afterall Friday at five! LOL

Yes, JB could submit a report written by the expert.

And yes, the order applies to both sides. It's just a little easier for the SA because they have a lot more of the work done already. :)

Watching the hearing again now and I think someone mentioned it earlier (forgive me for not remembering who) but at the very beginning of the hearing Judge Perry asks Mr Aston if Baez sent his response by email or in a file pleading - When Mr Aston responds that it was an email Judge Perry looks down and to the side of the defence with a very unhappy look on his face.

Judge Perry told Baez in no uncertain terms at the last hearing that his submission to the State was to be in "writing". Now as I'm no lawyer (I don't consider Baez one either) but I took that to mean as in a formal letter, not a snarky stupid email.

But I gather that a file pleading is what Judge Perry told Baez to do. Another reason for the Judges no nonsense ruling today.

Oh wow, just noticed FaerieB's Avatar! <- HHJP giving Mr. Baez the look. ;

FaerieB is that from the hearing today? It looks just like the look Judge Perry gave Baez today re the email situation.

Seemed to me that the order was already written down, and HHJP simply read it.

And that was the beauty of it all... Haa haaaa...

If I wasn't at work I'd pour myself a cocktail. :woohoo:

bbm. ITA, darnudes. I get the impression, too, that Perry was obviously not impressed with JOSE'S CAPS LOCK SCREAMING IN HIS SO-CALLED PROFESSIONAL EMAIL TO THE PROSECUTOR WHEREIN HE PURPORTS TO BE COMPLYING WITH A JUDGE'S ORDER.

I would too. I'm actually home (most of the time I'm still at work) sick. But I don't think a drink and cold medicine combine too well.

It's ok I'll just sit here and enjoy all the hysterical quips at Casey and Company's expense. That will be my cocktail today.

I keep remembering how bad JB wanted a new JUDGE..........he got his wish!
Now what does he want for Christmas???? LOL

I agree and I think HHJP responded with his own CAPS when he announced these reports were to be FILED with the court. He almost blew my speakers.

Agreed he raised his voice a few octaves.
