Did one of the attorneys ask for the hearing to be moved again??? Of did Judge P just hint at a side bar convo?

ET: Nevermind...thanks to epiphany I got the whole statement and not just the bits and pieces of my selective hearing.

HHJP: Mr Baez if you want to continue the convo we had earlier about working sat, you don't need to go into other things that you said since you said what you said. we have the balance of these jurors and on the other list...how many more we got...33 approx. under the second list that are out there. whos lives are placed on hold and as I explained to everybody rightfully or wrongfully we vol for this duty we all have and those jurors did not. I have given each side a great leeway, I told you yesterday that some of the questions did not go to jury selection that I was not going to limit in pre trial media and only voir dire...first you said fifteen then the defense asked for thirty...I also said you would get additional time and we will go, put in full days till we get the number but as I explained to everyone. the cry was pre trial publicity. in a free society I cannot stop the press from reporting. that right is from the United States and the florida constitution. The longer we wait the more dangerous they are. We will work tomorrow but not Sunday. We will probably work a full day till five, unless we can end shorter. I also told you it does not take a Rhodes scholar that if we can't get a jury here finding a place similar to Orlando would be virtually impossible. Virtually. Quite small and quite rual in population. I do think we can get a jury out of this group and if we work at it we can but we have certain limitations. we will press forward, I understand your concerns. but getting out of here earlier than yesterday. that's why I thought everybody had more than one lawyer. you got three very experienced folks selecting the jury. so, and I think Mr. Mason has selected jurys from soup to nuts and miss finell from soup to nuts. and they have told me she does it quite well.

Trying my first screen capture.

Monitoring WS???

Judge: ur gettin outta here a lot earlier than yesterday.

The judge sounds like he's done to me. Fried.

We will work a full day tomorrow, we will not work on Sunday. It doesn't take a Rhodes scholar to figure out if we don't find a jury here, finding another location would be virtually impossible.
It would leave us with small and rural populations. I do think we can get a jury out of this group. But we have certain limitations. So we will be pressing forward, understand concerns - but you aren't getting out early yesterday and you won't today. You all have more than three lawyers. Isn't that why? Mr. Mason has selected juries from to soup to nuts and so has Ms Finnell - the judges in the 4th circuit tell me she does it quite well.

Baez' plans to go golfing and doing a few national and local TV interviews on Saturday = THWARTED!!

DOH does <mod snip> have WS on her pooter?

Mel

ETA: MODS can I use IMASK instead of Mrs. Bolin. Oh, I don't like that name - he killed way too many young woman, tried, convicted.

MODERATOR MESSAGE TO ALL!

NO! IMASK is NOT an appropriate name for Mrs. Bolin on THIS forum. Previous moderator messages have clearly stated that all court players are to be addressed by their PROPER NAME only!

Violations of this TOS will result in a TO...

Thank you and carry on!!

If PJ's have been sitting outside all day and they are now going to adjourn because CM is past it I think they will be just thrilled to attend tomorrow.

OMG...HHJP referenced that certain PT's were called back that the court tried to excuse.

IMO directed to DT!

HHJP is making me hungry too. :D

I wish we could send him a big box of power bars, but they would have to toss them in case someone did something bad to them.

I get very grumpy when I haven't eaten, possibly psycho. :P

:floorlaugh:

So there are 21 on judge's list and they have about 8-9 now? And they need to keep 20 for good out of all of this? They may need to move on to next group.

When they dismissed some jurors, why didn't they figure out the hardships first? And just keep people who were still qualified??

That's what I've been wondering about all along. It could easily be streamlined by having the jurors fill out a form citing any financial hardships, medical issues, or primary care-giver issues, ahead of time. If there's any issues, those people can be dismissed by a jury consultant before they go to the courtroom, which would save some time.
