This is -horrible-! People must come out and get interviewed and blame the DT totally for them having to sit back there for so long!

Oh and the: "Does that make sense?"

:bricks:

If ICA looks bored, this guy must not be much to look at.

Are the using the age factor for when shes convicted and they have to go into dp phase?

I think Ms Finnell is going to present Casey as an "emotional child" in mitigation.

Again she is setting up for victim impact statements.....these are all going to be in an effort to help KC.......thse jurors are waiting to hear from the fmaily and all they will hear is we loved Caylee and miss Caylee but please spare KC.

"Don't let us lose another one'"

The jurors are not supposed to give those statements any weight, but just like the seeds being planted during jury selection (abuse, trauma)....they will be planted then as well.

BTW, listening to AF has made me believe more in the DP not less!

oh cripes - AF already gave me a migraine. Now I have to take Maxalt and get really sleepy..

She's grating on my nerves.

She's must have taken law school notes from her shampoo bottle: Wash. Rinse. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat...

please real quick. I have been watching all week and what are the differences of mitigating and aggrivating circumstances?
As I understand it -

mitigating factors deal with the defendant - background, childhood, what has happened to ICA in her life

aggravating factors deal with the victim - age at time of death; manner of death (like if someone was stabbed 300 times - heinous type stuff;

Somebody help me. Is this normal voir dire questioning? I mean it. Just seems so slanted towards them already finding her guilty.

KC was in her twenties at the time of the crime. I don't see where AF thinks that is so young as to be a mitigating factor. 16, 17 would possibly have a mitigating effect, but once you're in your twenties you are a full fledged adult when it comes to murder.

That is where the "maturity" comment comes in. Or lack of it, should I say. THey are going to try to say she is more like 16 in her mind. Most won't buy this either..I have a 14 year old....she knows right from wrong. So they are going to have to say she is less than 10 mentally. Good luck with that...heck, even my 4 year old felt sad when his pet died.

State re questionnaire

22 and single; studying to b mechanic; lives at home w/Mom; raised mostly by Mom; no siblings; no GF or children

please real quick. I have been watching all week and what are the differences of mitigating and aggrivating circumstances?

(paraphrasing)

Mitigating : HEY I AM GUILTY BUT HERE ARE REASONS WHY I SHOULDNT BE PUNISHED (sexual abuse, age, i was a good student, etc).

Aggravating : QUALITIES ABOUT THE CASE THAT ARE ESPECIALLY BAD THAT MAKES IT PARTICULARLY HEINOUS (caylee was a child under age of 12, etc.)
