If I happened on this case for the first time today,I would assume that GA was the person on trial, and JB the prosecuting attorney.I will also say that I was stunned by the remark made by JP,and the smirk on JB's face was one of,Gotcha!!!

GA is on trial via DT.

LOL...they just showed a clip of stuff and in it was Casey asking investigators "just a random question: are there cameras in all the rooms?" when she realized there was a camera on her. I forgot that one!

Would a person who is sexually assualted by their father (Baez in opening statement said ICA would wake up with her father's p*nis in her mouth) then be able to joke with TL about oral sex? In the IM TL says something like go suck D*I*C*K. And she says maybe later. I don't even know why I brought it up - it just bothers me and I can't stop thinking about it. When I was younger I had a friends dad rub himself against my bottom and when a BF or my husband tried to do something like that it would give me the heebee jeebee's and be a definite no. Any thoughts. Sorry if this is not an appropriate place to ask this.

Hi Mara! My take was that this was, in part, the reason why the SA wanted it in evidence.
As for the other thing: It seems that these kinds of molestation happen to more young women/girls than we might think. I remember having a friend of my grandfather's "helpfully" wipe some ice cream off of my shirt when I was 17. barf.

Casey can't testify; even if she lies and tells about the "drowning" and "sexual abuse" what can she say about where Caylee was all the time when she was with her friends up until June 15th? Would she really try to go with the nanny story again?
Weren't there times before June 16th when Caylee was supposedly with a nanny or babysitter, yet this person does not seem to exist?

I only joined WS about 16 months ago and did not take part or read on the Caylee forum, as it was too huge and intimidating by then and everyone seemed to be experts on the case. All I knew about the case were the very basics; Caylee was not reported missing, there was a fictional nanny, and Casey was partying, also that her parents were not reacting in a way that seemed "normal" about the whole thing.

Anyway, I am just hearing about the car, the tow yard, the gas cans, etc. along with (we hope) the jurors. I have to say that if George does not come out at some point and say that he was covering for Casey (at the expense of Caylee) all along, I will not understand why he did not call police sooner and for sure, when he got to the tow yard and recognized the smell. I can begin to see how Caylee's death could have been some accident, and covered up in a mish-mash by Casey with help from her father. I don't believe that, but I can see how someone would.

JB being harsh with George would seem okay to me as a juror, since JB "believes" this man molested his client since she was a child, and also helped cover up the child's death, thus "blackmailing" his client into submission. I am talking about if I were a neutral juror who did not want to believe that a mother who loved her child, according to all sources thus far, murdered her on purpose. Also, the simple fact of driving around with Caylee dead in the trunk, if that is what happnened, would make me think there could not have been any sort of plan, as who would do that?

Just an opinion from someone who is learning much of the case as it proceeds.
Wow, had to give this one a :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

First nursebeeme, Congratulations!!!! You are a well-respected member of WS and now a great moderator!!!!

Did I miss a "new witness" being mentioned? I've been watching HLN...:banghead:
yes there is some "new witness" mentioned at the end today...

not sure of the details... and thanks!

Bringing this from the thread just closed :

"I don't know why GA decided to drive home a car that smelled like human death. It's an unmistakable smell; you can't mistake it for garbage or anything else. "

He drove the stinking car rather than allow his mind to accept the reality. I do not know if that is self-preservation, denial, dysfunction or a combination of all that & more. He was also pressed for time to get to his job. I heard him say today, he didn't feel like going to work after retrieving the car, but it was a new job & he had to go.... We all know the Anthonys refused to accept what was obvious to everyone else.

I hope the state addresses this matter to the satisfaction of the jury.

It dawned on me today too that:
1. The fine he had to pay was not money they had (easy)
2. It was not that far and if he left it the fine would grow and cindy would 'kill him
3. He needed the money now even more than ever -- or he wanted (or knew) only cindy to clean it. ( MY hunch is cindy has her ways of wanting things done and he might not have wanted to follow directions....again)

I will say this. Having followed all this from the beginning, since Caylee would have been my eldest son's almost exact age, I used to have the firm belief we'd never hear from ICA personally on this whole horrendously sad case.

Now however, with the way the DT appears to be bumbling on towards an abyss to tumble into, I have a growing optimism that the Inmate herself in indignant and aggrandizing self-indulgence will demand to take the stand.

It will be... I don't believe there are words.

I'm an old gal also, and have followed the same cases. She is unbelievable. I agree with everything you have written. I am very interested in this issue of KC bonding with a juror. If this is true something needs to be done.

If the court (JP) gets wind of KC trying to bond with a juror shouldn't that juror be replace with an alternate??

Yesterday LDB said that LE will be up next week. Since they are going in a chronological order, and are now at July 15th - my guess would be next week on the 911 tapes.

Also, I wanted to add :twocents: Many seem to be getting a little discouraged about things we know, and it seems they are not being brought up. I am not in the least bit discouraged YET! JB seems very over zealous in his actions. I feel more like the state is at this time, just "giving him the rope". Have faith and patience! I believe it will all fall into place!

Thanks

Was anyone watching the wftv link during lunch? They were showing people arriving this morning and witnesses waiting. Showed Mallory hugging GA and some lady I have never seen before.

:seeya: Okay, I am a total stalker, I saw that too -- my guess was it was Mallory':seeya: mom?

In case no one has answered you, I believe there are two rows of ten seats each, for a total of twenty.

Can you tell me, do the alternates sit in the jury room when the trial is over? Do they, the alternates have any say the voting process?

I just talked to my law partner (who does crim law) about testimony today and the defense's weird tactic of trying to show GA was trying to disassociate himself from any involvement in the trunk stench, even though their theory is there was no dead body in the trunk. He said:
"The defense attorney is shooting for the bleachers even though he's playing T-ball. This is a total newbie move - discredit everything everyone says even if it has nothing to do with your theory or even if what they are saying does nothing to discredit your theory. This tactic is exactly what inexperienced defense attorneys do and it never works. He's going to lose."

I believe Cindy played a big role in George going to work and not calling LE.
IMO, she never really allowed George to Parent...she took control and he would just do what she instructed..even to his better judgment it seems

murdering her parents

That was not done in front of the jurors. I checked to be sure. (If it was it would have ended the trial at that moment.)

Judge was telling State it did not make motive clear. Chuckling at JB for not getting it. Murdering parents for a few reasons, some I don't know, but here is this. To suggest DT is overboard on objecting and making things look worse. To tell State it is not a CLEAR motive. To let 2 people in a back row recognize what they need to so they can make it through trial, child or not.

JMO. ;)

I'm late to the party. What? I'm confused. Where did this come from? Please point me in the right direction

He has been trying to say that, for some reason everyone stops him for explaining. It will all get there, I hope.
I don't.

It makes GA sound worse if he ever says that outright. My version sans GA rambling.

'Mr Anthony, after smelling the human decomp, saying a prayer that it wasn't your daughter or granddaughter, you lifted the trunk lid and there were flies and maggots. You still smelled human decomp?'

'Yes.'

'It was bad?'

'Yes.'

'Why didn't you call 911?'

'I had to get to my new job.'

I'm sorry, but if I'm a juror, I'm disgusted with GA.

Softail great post! ITA also.

IMHO the state is sticking with the case presentation as planned. They are going through it in an organized, methodical scenario which will all make total sense to jurors when finished. In the mean time they have the assistance of ICA's defense team along the way! They know it, the DT is to stupid to realize.

Today's cross of Goerge A. by JB made him look like a school yard bully. IMO it will not sit well with jurors because GA was more than kind about answering the questions and tolerant of his b.s. I might add. I was so happy to see that JA and Lippman went out to smooth his feathers, and console the poor man!

(It made me utterly sick to my stomach to see a 10000% emotionless face on ICA as George crackled out Casey and Caylee's name in regards to hoping that it wasn't them in the trunk of the car.) George's emotions come across as a raw open and festering wound. I am certain that will not get by the jurors, they notice those things.
